The day was eerily quiet. But this neck of the woods had been as soon as Jack Torrance had taken up residence there. Wherever he went all the forest creature would shut up and hide from the bloody specter that passed them. He was a horrifying sight. He reeked of old meat and blood, and his black pelt had gore splatters all over it along with half healed cuts. His eyes were startlingly in the fact that they were eerily white. He had a permanent insane grin plastered on his face as she stumbled around, sniffing for some potential prey, or as he liked to call it, the new guests for his 'Party'. His other 'Guests' were already ringed around his clearing in a sickening display of all types of heads. He was always very pleased with his handwork and eager to expand his collection.

The brief moments of silence were prized by Bree, the forever servant of her dominating brother. Only when he was off pillaging some fool's hopes did the vagabond ever find herself with something that could have been considered close to free time.
Her latest carcass had long since dried up, and there was a distinct absence of something rotting for her to find comfort in. The little things were what really put her at ease, which meant having absolutely nothing to drag around or whisper to in her lonesome made her especially unhappy on this day.
The small, starved female found herself staring emptily out from the fox den she'd weathered the night in. There were only so few moments untouched by someone's demands, and even these she didn't expect to spend without having someone encroach upon them. Whatever was in her future today, kidnapping, assaulting, or just lurking from the shadows, Bree was almost certain it was something she would never have expected to look forward to.

Jack's nose twitches when he smells something different than the usual deer and badgers that predominated the area. His grin stretched wider as she padded forward, his tail held aloft and his eyes practically glowing with excitement. There were a scattering of what appeared to be wolf tracks on the ground. Oh goody! He couldn't help but let out an excited, shrill sounding giggle as he picked up the pace.

Soon he came to a fox den. Without much thought he bent slightly and crammed his head inside the hole, baring his fangs in his customary grin as his rank smell pervaded the tight space. "Heeeeere's Johnny!" He barks gleefully and tries to n** at the emaciated wolf huddled inside.

Although it was to be expected that as one of the quietest members of her family growing up, Bree would have become used to wolves invading her personal boundaries without much warning, it never failed to raise at least a slight amount of alarm in her. Not an alarm of fear per say, but more an alarm of 'what-idea-inspired-awful-chore-will-be-forced-upon-me-now?'. And as such, it aroused within her a sense of uninspired duty that she was to be called forth to accomplish something. But this face was new. This wasn't one of her ordinary authority figures. Not that she was particularly looking to add anyone to the mix.

With her ears tucking back and her chin dropping to her paws the femme took in this wolf's startling pelt with weary eyes. Johnny? What a loud character this one was.

Not one to make conversation the gray female attempted to scoot backwards as best she could, but was well aware of the limitations of the den she was in. Hopefully this wasn't a damning position for her.

With a low chirp she did little to avoid being nipped at, and figured she would just put up with whatever was headed her way until a better opportunity arose. Her sinewy body stayed lax, she was hoping he would be more like her brother than a downright blood-crazed male. But from Johnny's face she wouldn't have been surprised to be wrong.

At first the male was confused. Why wasn't his prey squealing and begging to be let go? Maybe she needed more incentive. He gave another giggle, then pulled his head out and shook himself. He reached in a paw and blindly swatted at her before he pulled his foreleg out as well. "Come here." He commands. He was almost never entirely still. Even right now he was swaying from side to side, his legs spread wide to try and keep him steady.

When she didn't immediately respond he crammed his large head back in the hole and bared his fangs at her. "I said come out!" He snarls and withdraws it again. He'd count to five, and if she wasn't out by then he'd pop his head back in and drag her out roughly. He wanted to hear her scream.

Bree was reluctant. It was obvious, neither of them were fooled by some delusion that this was pleasant for her. But it was not entirely horrible, and she had undeniably been through worse, especially with the cannibal seer, she the female eventually slunk out after he yelled at her a second time.

In truth Bree was more of something dead that still roamed around than anything living. She had always been far more fond of the deceased and their nature's, even their spirits, which she still believed haunted her. There was simply something more powerful in them. But this male was quite alive within himself, and she couldn't help but feel terribly opposite from him as her body poured fluidly into the sunlight.

Her dull yellow eyes lit upon his form before an inward huff settled things. There was no getting around someone this active, she would have to wait for Keegan to be impatient with her late arrival before she had any chance of getting away.

Jack's grin gets wider when he sees her emerge. Well finally! He took a step forward, then paused, his head tilted to one side as if he were listening to something. Then he clucked. "Yeah, yeah. I know. Hey! I was going to do that anyway so get off my back!" he growls and reaches around to n** at his back as if something was there. For him, there was. He was never alone. Ever since that terrible winter night, he'd never been by himself. That winter den had corrupted his mind to the point of killing his mate and their pup. So, he was merely talking with the demons/spirits/ghouls that liked to inhabit him ever since then. Or he could of just snapped from the silence of that place and the constant jabbering of his mate or the mewling of that annoying pup. It was hard to tell. "You're going to be late to the party!" He snaps at Bree. "Now come on or everybody will get upset!" He growls and takes a step forward, his fur bristling and his ghastly white eyes focused on her.

As the male started in on his strange tendencies the she-wolf couldn't help but feel something that resembled being almost...curious. Was he a knower of spirits too? Did he recognize their presence and significance? No. No one ever did. No one ever cared like Bree did. Bree, who was faithful to them, even more so than to any living wolf. The spirits guided her better than any 'master' wolf could. But only she herself had ever felt anything for the dead, let alone be so controlled by them.

Still, his actions seemed so familiar. Too familiar.

Talk of a party broke her focus. She looked up at him with something new in her eyes, suspicious, but new. What was he going on about?

Whatever it was, it was probably best not to disagree. Keegan would find and follow her scent. She had nothing to fear, as nothing living was ever truly fear-inspiring. Shoulders drooping slighting she consented to follow him. He surely had nothing pleasant in his plans, that much she knew for certain.

But who was everyone?

He was still displeased this female hadn't spoken yet. A low growl rumbled in his throat, but he said nothing. Instead he trotted forward, walking at a fairly brisk pace. He looked back occasionally to make sure the female was following. Occasionally he'd mumble to himself or glance from side to side as if he were talking to someone. His voice would go up and down in pitch, and he'd even swerve in his normally straight path to avoid some invisible obstacle. He was very twitchy and and jerky in all his movements. Obviously he wasn't sane.

After a good bit of walking he entered a clearing. Flies buzzed all over the place and a truly grisly sight greeted them. The clearing was ringed with skulls of all kinds of creatures; deer, boar, squirrel, you name it, it was there. Most of them were bare bones by this point, but some looked fresher and gorier. he patted one skull on the head before he plopped down and grinned at the female. "Welcome to the party! Introduce yourself to everyone! Don't be shy!" He barks. The skulls hollow eyes seemed to bore into her, and the air seemed thick with...something.

It was a messy place. A grueling place even. Death and decay dripped from everything she set her eyes upon. He'd killed, and there was no doubt in her mind he killed them, many animals of all sorts of species, and had them paraded here like party guests. It had been odd enough just dawdling behind him, but here everything began to come to light.

It all massed together into a fowl smell that Bree doubt would ever truly come out of her skin, something that would brand her for a long time. As she glanced about a tingling feeling built up inside of her. Something that slowly began to tickle down her legs and curl in her chest.

Keegan knew how Bree would take this. He knew she would be far more welcome to this idea of a party than anything he had ever dropped her into, and it was with a deeply set scowl that he hurried his pace so that he was only a few steps behind them. Quicker, quicker, the gap between this stranger and himself growing ever smaller. His sister did not have enough of herself to know to leave, it was up to him to drag her back home.

His breath caught as he came onto the scene: skulls everywhere, and languid estranged male, and his deathly still sister.

"I believe she's mistakenly stumbled on to your guest list, sir.." He drawled, pulling himself up in height. He was in no way looking for a fight, but he wasn't relinquishing his own gray wolf to some obscure male whose scent had appeared from out of no where and snuffed out Bree's den.

Bree wasn't surprised that Keegan had come, she was only surprised that this Johnny fellow had quite so many skulls, quite such a place.

Jack didn't even notice this other male appear until he was there. He looked puzzled at this and he stood up from his lounging position. His eyes flashed dangerously and his fur bristled. "You aren't invited to the Party. Only she is." He did not approve of this male here. He only wanted weaker minded ones for his party, because those were the easiest to corrupt. A soft growl rumbled in his throat. "You need to leave. Now." He says quietly and lifts his head and tail higher, threateningly. He wasn't going to be cheated out of his new party guest. She had such a pretty head, and it was like she was already one. Her eyes looked about as alive as the hollow ones of the skulls.

Bree came to attention and padded over to her brother. She was to do his bidding if it came down to it, this, she knew. And surely a confrontation would arise, although Keegan would try to take the diplomatic route in this, which she also knew.

Keegan didn't like his position being challenged. He was lead in her life, he couldn't afford to lose her. She was a very good tool in getting things done. It would take weeks to replace her. Not that he had tried, or ever thought about it. She's family. You didn't just kill off and replace family.

"Bree and I are a pair, where I go, she follows. So will this be a party of three, or would you rather have your lonesome company and these...charmers?"

Never before had he been put in a position where he had to exert his control over her in front of someone else to this extent. No one ever really tried to take her, it made him very unsettled. But he had known this was a day that would come eventually.

Jack looked puzzled for a moment and turned his head slightly. He didn't take his eyes off Keegan though even though he seemed to be listening to someone else. he was quite for a moment, then he turned back fully to him, his tail flicking irritably. "No, no, no. You aren't on the guest list and guests can't bring people with him. I will not have party crashers!" He huffs. A fly took that moment to land on his ear. He flicked it absently, but didn't seem to notice. He lifted his tail up more threateningly and dug his claws into the icy soil. This certainly would not do for him, and the other guests agreed with him wholeheartedly.
