ZONE 2c: THE ISLAND OF MISFIT TOYS crossing time: 3 days Upon exiting the forest, the gnomes are nowhere to be seen, but hey, there's some more students over there! They look a bit ragged, but maybe one or two of them would make a good traveling companion? There's three paths to take and hmmm...the southernmost one looks like fun! You cross a long wooden bridge and find yourself on a snowy island. At first it seems deserted, but then you think you see something running out of the corner of your eye. Not finding anything, you suddenly hear a giggle behind you. In the far off distance you hear what sounds like roaring, and you wonder if you accidentally got sent back to Halloween without even noticing. Quote: The OOC: this area takes 3 days to cross! When you make your "entry" post, your student does not get to post an "exit" until 72 hours later! You only need those two posts to cross, but your chances of getting to battle will be low if that's all you do, so go ahead and make with the regular RP here as well!

Walking close behind Xi, Laiha lifted her nose to the air. Her sense of smell was not particularly exceptional, but there was something wrong here. The giggling, that was eerie...
She'd bet there were more horrible, JOYful things here that needed a good beating... she'd gotten out lucky in the forest, and with all 5 bells!
[[ This is just a post to make sure my time doesn't get any longer. I'll be back to RP for serious later tonight! <333 ]]

((Here be Ickis!))
The decision hadn't been too hard - the mountains were cold. Colder even than the cursed forest they'd only just escaped... so the only clear choice was the path that led towards this odd snowy island. (And the plague doctor had to admit that the sign reading 'Isle of Misfit Toys' did sound somewhat intriguing. Weren't cracked dolls, in particular, one of Halloween's own signature creatures?)
Malodore's feet clattered on the bridge as it ascended. It did feel a tiny, tiny bit less cold here than it had in the forest... but not much. Luce capered alongside it, obviously relieved to be done with trees!

"The Island of Misfit Toys?" Did that mean they were bad toys? It seemed to be more rational for the Halloweeniers to come this way, seeing as they were all strange and weird?...But like family none the less. She saw a few up ahead ready, but she was eerie about the first step on the bride, testing it to see if it could hold weight. I seemed so as she decided to trust it and walk along.

((Ickis Group))
So they were heading the way of the Misfit toys -- kind of an apt decision, considering the rag-tag bunch of Halloween-ers who clearly didn't belong in the winter wonderland. In the end, it was probably a better decision than the other choices -- there had been expressed concern about the extreme cold of the mountain path, and they had been adamantly told that Candycane Lane was a very bad decision. Neither of these really worried Nuk, but he'd really not had much of an opinion on where they should go. Surprisingly, the only stipulation had been that he'd wanted to go with the rest of their little group that had somehow formed via the Ickis car, having somehow, in the course of the last few days, formed friendships with the other students.
Although Shehk was much less likely to cuddle up to him, now that they were in a slightly (very slightly, it seemed) warmer climate, he sucked it up.
Nukpana followed Malodore across the bridge, his own moccasin'd boots making heavy thudding noises against the wood, his not-mutilated hand shoved into one of his pockets. The other, still distinctly warped in a grotesque mixture of bear, human and wolf, hung heavily at his side, his human-like fingers curled around the base of his Snowball launcher.

Sepheran had finally made it out of that horrible forest with all those cheerful trees. He was quite glad too as he heard plenty of voices ahead of him as well, that was a good thing. He was worried he had lagged too far behind. Maybe now this meant he would be able to meet up with his group again. After all it wasn't wise for someone like himself to go off alone, especially in such a JOYful place like this area seemed to be.
Feeling a bit more energetic Sepheran quickened his own pace as much as he could without tripping and set forth towards the voices of his fellow Halloweeniers.

After the forest, crossing a bridge had been easy, and he followed the crowd. He could see only one person he recognized at the moment, and he sprinted briefly to catch up to the Basilisk boy.
This cold weather had to be killer on him, he knew that snakes were cold blooded and needed heat.
"I'm going to stick with you for the moment" Myr announced, grinning at Sepheran. "Tell me if I start to annoy you or you want me to go away."
He would leave the other boy alone if he asked him to, but he was really really hoping the other boy wouldn't mind his company.

Sepheran stopped for a moment as he heard hurried footsteps coming up behind him. The steps were familiar so it didn't worry him too much as he waited for another to catch up wondering who it was. When the boil finally did catch up and talk Sepheran knew it was someone from his group, but he hadn't particularly met or talked much with whoever it was.
Sepheran didn't mind though, he could already feel the welcome heat that was being emitted off the others body and moved in closer towards Myr careful not to make the other feel too uncomfortable though. "Oh by all means, I'd love the company," Sepheran answered feeling a bit more at ease with another nearby. He wouldn't care even if Myr was "annoying" which the basilisk doubted the boil was.

It didn't take too long to catch up with the group ahead. Along the way, Jericho practically ran, which helped warm him up a fair amount. Occasionally he would fly for small spurts at a time to help cross the land a little quicker as well.
"Hope the ride's not too rough," he said to his rider as he began to slow down. The name of this area amused him, and it made him wonder if they would at least be running into some more interesting and worthy creatures aside from those blasted trees.
Upon catching up with a few of the familiar faces, the dragon found himself on all fours on the ground... though in humanoid form once more.
"Ah.. dammit," he grumbled. Well at least they had caught up now. But here he had lost his intimidation factor by a chunk.
"Did we miss anything?" he asked the others around.

The ride to the next area was really kind of peaceful. Riley thought that having a dragon to ride on made an excellent addition to her personal mobility, and she could get used to it. Plus, now that she was sober, she was becoming much more capable of holding on, and not sliding this way and that.
This would not be evident once they arrived, and she found herself sliding off his now-humanoid back into the cold snow.
Oh, fudgesticks. She cursed under her breath, sitting there for a moment to nurse the wounds of her ego.

Myr grinned. That was a relief. He would much rather be with someone he at least kind of knew rather than just strangers, since it seemed like others had joined them on the path. "You know, I don't think I've managed to catch your name this whole time, and I have no idea if you know mine either."
He was babbling a bit, but who could blame him. Things were really different here, and he hadn't screwed up even once yet. Sure trees had attacked them, and the train had crashed, but those hadn't been his fault. Or at least he was fairly sure of that.

Sepheran paused a moment. The boil had a point, it was odd that they had been traveling together this whole time and yet neither knew each others name. He smiled slightly, well they could fix that, "I do believe you are right, I'm Sepheran and the little lady on my shoulder here is Liannan," Sepheran stated as the white head of a snake poked out from under Sepheran's slightly wet jacket.
Liannan flicked her tongue a few times before retreating back into the warmth of the jacket and out of the cool air.
Sepheran then tilted his head towards Myr's direction, "And you are?" Sepheran asked curiously.

Standing up, Jericho let out a sigh before glancing behind where Riley had slipped off. That was the other issue with his form popping back and forth at random times.
"Sorry about that. I can't really control when I shift," he frowned while stepping towards her to try and help her back up. It was his fault she fell anyway.
Glancing back, he could see the outlines of Malodore and Nuk on the bridge close by. One the plus side, he'd have an easier time walking across in his humanoid form. Still, the random shifts were a tad aggravating.

It wasn't really a surprise that they hadn't gotten introduced, there were a lot of things going on and introductions certainly weren't the top on everybody's list. Perhaps he would suggest the next time they did something like this, with games and everything, that they play one of those stupid name introduction games.
He watched the snake peer out and then disappear back into his jacket. He couldn't blame her, especially since his familiar was hidden underneath his hat, curled up asleep.
"Itztmyr'ree Kennet," he answered, "but, please call me Myr. My name's a bit of a mouthful, but what can you do. Got to love family naming traditions, right?" He grinned. "It's very nice to meet you both. Is she your familiar?"
