Kaya was perched on the very edge of a branch, stareing down in curiosity at the strange creature she had found. She had never seen a modifox that wore clothing, and that was catching to her interest. The most interesting thing about the tan fox's clothes was her headband. It had to ends just lying there, and Kaya had a huge urge to just bat at them.
The catfox wasn't being very successful as she was slowly leaning forward towards the beckoning ribbons. Unfortunatly for the black cat-fox, the recent snows had slicked the branches. Off she fell, landing just to the side of the other female. Kaya laughed in embarrassment. "Hi. Sorry about that. I, um, slipped."

Tanto was walking along but she felt like she was being watched. Which was more than likely true. So she pretended to not notice the other. She would see what they would do before she reacted. Mother had taught her not to jump to conclusion and to observe. Maybe they lived somewhere near by and she was passing threw their territory. She couldn't blame them for watching for that cause she would herself. She was about to say something when the other fell down next to her. She stared down at the black odd looking vixen and thought ~Maybe these are some of the people mom told me about~

The absolute silence that greeted her apology did not seem reassuring to Kaya and she scrambled to her feet quickly. "R-really. I didn't mean to fall off that branch. It's covered in snow you see...." She trailed off, not wanting to ramble on. Her green eyes met the pink ones of the vixen in front of her and she gave a small smile. "It was, uh, slippery." she blurted before zipping her lip. She sincerely hoped that this vixen wasn't going to attack or something due to Kaya's gracelessness.

Tanto watched the black vixen for a second before nodding in understanding. She gave the fox a once over to see if she was hurt but nothing was visibly wrong. "You ok?" She asked in a blank tone

"Y-yes, I'm fine. I fall all the time." Kaya explained. "I know that seems odd since I look like a cat, but I do fall quite a bit." She replied, smiling at the pink eyed vixen. "I didn't land on you, did I?" She asked, concern lacing her voice. She tried to look the other vixen over for wounds, but her eyes got caught on one of the ribbons of fabric falling from her headband.
"I'm Kaya. It's...it's nice to meet you." She said in a slightly dazed and distracted tone.

"Mhm..."Tanto said eying the female. Yep this other vixen was an odd one. "No I'm fine. You wouldn't have been able to hit me even if you tried,"She said with confidence. She was proud of being a ninja and her awesome skills. "What are you doing out here?"

Kaya's front right paw was slowly lifting off the ground, the urge to bat at the dangling fabric nearly overwhelming. The question the other female shot at her brought Kaya back to herself and the paw was dropped firmly back to the ground. "Hmm? Oh, I'm lost." Kaya replied with a shrug.
Kaya was always getting lost. She'd decide to stay somewhere, then end up chasing a butterfly or something, and she'd be lost again. Being as lost was her usual state, she didn't mind any longer. "What do you mean I couldn't hit you if I tried? Are you very quick?"

Tanto looked around trying to see where this strange vixen came from. "Hmm? Well lets see if we can try and get you home or something? That sound good?" She asked trying to be polite.
"I'm a born ninja so yes I'm extremely fast." she said with a bit of a cocky grin and began to walk forward than paused to see if the vixen was coming.

"Wow, a ninja? That's amazing. I don't think I've ever met a ninja before." Kaya exclaimed, her tail twitching in excitement. The black cat-fox started to follow after the other fox. She seemed nice enough, even though she still hadn't told Kaya her name.
"Home?" Kaya asked in surprise, stopping where she was. She shuffled her feet in the snow and looked down at her paws in uncertainty. "I...uh...don't really have a home. I've been lost for years. I met one fox that called me a..." Kaya frowned and tried to remember the word, "a nomad? He said it meant a fox that is always wandering."

Tanto nodded to her. "Yes I'm a ninja and you will only ever meet 3 other ninjas. My mother who is pure ninja and than my brother and sister."she stated in a matter of fact manor as she began to head south to get the other fox to a warmer place.
"You might be a nomad but home is where the heart is. For example I wander probably as much or more than you but I still consider where I lived as a kit with my family as home." She looked back at the black vixen" Home is where the heart is."

Kaya followed after the ninja fox. "Wow. Three ninjas? That's amazing." The cat-fox followed after the other female. "Um, what's your name?"
Home is where the heart is. Kaya frowned. She didn't have a home, so perhaps she hadn't found her her heart yet? She raised her gaze to the ninja's. "I suppose I haven't found where my heart is. It used to be with my parents but...they passed away and I don't have any siblings." Kaya said. "I guess you could say I'm searching for a home." That sounded a lot nicer than being lost all the time.

She glanced back at the fox. "My name is Tanto and three ninja's are amazing but its hard when your trying to impress your mother who is the best ninja in the world."
"You are still young. You have plenty of time to find and make a home. Just because your parents have passed on doesn't mean they aren't with you you know? They are here even if you don't see them."She stopped to nudge Kaya. "Come on. Don't give up hope. Take your time and look make sure whatever you decided is what you really want."

Kaya blinked at the other fox and ducked her head in embarrassment. "I-I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I haven't given up hope...not exactly. I didn't think I'd ever find a home, but I was thinking of a physical place like a cave." She looked up and smiled at the ninja-fox. "But you said 'home is where the heart is' so I can still find home if I find a dear friend or mate, right?"

Tanto nudged Kaya's side. "No worries ok? Its fine if you didn't mean it like that I more than likely still would have said that sooner or later. Now come on lets find some place not covered in snow." With that said she began to walk faster heading south.
"Yea if you find a dear friend or mate that would still work. Do you have a mate?" She asked with ears twitching.

Kaya, who was getting colder by the minute, agreed with Tanto and picked up her pace as well. She hadn't realized she'd gone so far north, and the snow had caught her completely unawares. "Okay," she replied, "no worries. And no, I don't have a mate yet. I haven't met many others on my wanderings, so it never really came up. Do you have a mate?"
