To be honest, Dysi had no problem with lions. Although the Kuroi'Nera discriminated against them quite heavily, one of Dysi's best friends was, in fact, a lioness and a very sweet one at that. Dysi had even spent time with the slave lioness in the Kuroi, and had no problem with her either. However, Dysi did have one problem with lions...namely the one trying to kill him!
Dysi was moving fast through grassy plains, trying hard to avoid the paws which swiped at him as he moved. He had been minding his own business when the male had come along and decided to be a jerk and attack. At first, Dysi thought he was protecting something, but he soon came to realise that he was, in fact, just a jerk and that this was no game they were playing. Dysi sported a scratch along his hind leg, thankfulyl not deep, from the crazy lion and sent a yowl back over his shoulder as one powerful paw hit against his tail as he ran.

Sozin was bored, which had been why the leopard -as feminine and annoying as he appeared -was the perfect plaything. He could have gone hunting for food, but he was not hungry, and he had no desire to socialise, as it was a boring pastime. Which was why this leopard began to look quite...entertaining.
Swiping at the male, he took delight in the fact that he was more toying with the male, then really trying to injure him. He could pounce and take him out at any point, but he didn't really want to. This was more fun anyway, stretching out the game for much longer. If he just killed him, then it would be rather boring and Sozin would be back to having nothing to do.

"Hey!" a lioness snapped, stalking very angrily forward in a low bound that didn't look like a run at all. Having caught a sound, and then sight of the event, she just...moved from there to here in a very smooth, very rapid motion. "What do you think you're doing?" she demanded, anger and disgust heating her voice. Her tail lashed just once behind her as she very stubbornly and very pointedly shoved herself in between the large red lion and the poor leopardess who had the misfortune to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. If she had assumed wrong, and the pretty white feline was somehow deserving of punishment, In'ta was not above admitting such a mistake. But as things stood...well.
As things stood she had no qualms about throwing her rather considerable weight around. She'd always been on the distinctly larger side for a lioness, her splotchy hide sleek and rippling over powerful muscle as she tensed, her eyes fixed on the red stranger. Oh, how she hated a bully.

Dysi was thrilled when he heard another person's voice, not only the growls emanating form the male following him. He didn't even care that it was a female's voice and that his actions at the moment were likely quite undignified and very unmanly. Turning abruptly, he moved towards the female instead of his fleeing path, ducking behind her with a little too high pitched 'thank you!' Later he would be ashamed, right now, he was simply pleased to not be lion food. Ironic, being saved from a lion by a lion, he thought, while standing - i.e. hiding - behind the larger female.
Sozin snarled as his game was interrupted, slowing his pace to turn to face the lioness who now hid his prey from him. His jowls pulled back into a dangerous snarl as he stared at her.
"This is none of your business, woman," he growled furiously. She was matching him in size, and perhaps even a little larger. He was not pleased to have his game interrupted and even less that it was a female who was daring to question what he was doing.
He stalked forward, intending to duck around her to attack the pathetic leopard who was cowering behind the female. No one stopped him from doing what he wanted, not even this girl.

Oh, so it was none of her business was it? That sounded like a rather suspicious reason to her. The speed with which the leopardess ducked to hide behind her only further confirmed her suspicions, and her ears laid back as she dodged to the side, keeping her place between the two.
"Well, maybe I'm making it my business," she growled back, her own lips peeling back to reveal the edges of fang in her own start of a snarl. "Now either you can pick on someone your own size, or you can go on your way, but regardless of which you choose you will leave her alone."
Now, if In'ta had even the slightest inkling of how to tell a leopard's gender from the back of her head, she probably would not have used that last line at all. But then, she had fur on the back of her skull, not an extra set of eyes.

Now, if Dysi hadn't been hiding behind said female like a coward, he might have taken offence to the 'she' comment, when he was clearly a male, but unfortunately, he was not in his best shape, so he simply winced and continued to hide. He would clear the air later, he thought to himself, nodding firmly even though the female would not be able to see him through the back of her head.
Sozin smirked. Now, he had met the leopard before, having tried to kill the girly whiner's daughter once and having been driven away by two youths, so he knew for a fact that the leopard was a 'he', not a 'she', but it was not his problem, so he didn't bother to correct her. It didn't matter anyone. The leopard would be an 'it' by the time Sozin had killed it.
"Are you asking for a fight?" He asked, with a smirk, still stalking towards her. "Girly, you don't know what you're getting into, but if you're looking for a fight, I am happy to oblige." He launched himself at her, claws outstretched. He didn't care which one he hit, the female or the girly leopard cowering behind her. They were both fun prey.

"If you wish to bring me a fight you'll see for yourself," the lioness promised firmly. She had fought bullies before, she knew she could hold her own well enough. Size was only one advantage, experience was far more important, as was skill. She had everything under control.
With a thunderous roar, her voice reverberated from deep in her ribs and was hardly something to be called 'girly', In'ta coiled to accept his attack. The stranger was probably lucky she was in the habit of pulling the first punch or two. Her clothes would be sheathed for the first blow or so, to see if her strength alone would carry the message.
But if it didn't, she wasn't afraid to get...messy.

Dysi had ducked away from the two fighting creatures, knowing he would hinder rather then help his unlikely hero. He shivered at her bellowing roar, surprised that it had come from such a pretty female, but knowing better than to stay and see what happened. He moved quickly, ducking behind something appropriately large enough to hide his form and keep him out of the way. Peeking out, he watched the battle with a fascinated horror.
Sozin had been prepared for her to turn tail and run, like most did when he decided to play, but she held her ground and the smirk on his face - rather then slipping or falling away completely- grew in size. Sozin was not a normal fighter. He preferred it when things were ...messy, and he didn't even mind shedding some fur in the process. Of course, he preferred to hurt rather then be hurt, but it didn't matter that much. It was all worth it in the end.
His pounce landed near her, swiping his paw towards her side, claws extended with as much force behind the blow as he could put, not holding back even from the get go. He had no time to bother with 'testing' blows. He wanted this battle over with, so his play thing would be returned.

The first smack she landed made her paw tingle sharply in an altogether satisfying way. She had hit him, and hit him hard. If he did not wish to stop after that, and indeed, it seemed he did not, then that was his choice now.
Dimly In'ta was aware of the leopardess she'd interjected to protect vanishing from her peripheral vision, but that was just as well. If the pale feline wasn't up for fighting, then it was better for her to have escaped.
She felt her fur tear as his claws raked against her, and with another snarl she swatted at him again. This time, her claws were no longer sheathed. Things would get messy fast, but if it was a messy fight he wanted, well then, he was going to have it indeed.

Dysi's eyes were wide as he watched the fight, feeling guilty that he wasn't out there helping. He was a useless fighter though, which was why he was 'royal' and not any particular rank in his pride. He had very little skills. Except flower chain making. And he didn't think he could throw a flower chain at the male and make him go away. Unless he was allergic to flowers. Knowing Dysi's luck, the male would probably just eat the flower sand then eat Dysi too. He shifted further behind his hiding spot and stared out. No. Best stay here and let her fight. She seemed to be doing okay.
Sozin felt the female's paw connect, it was a heavy gesture which almost made him stumble but it was not designed to mark. Disgusting. She was barely trying! When he felt his claws collide with fur, he let out a smirk. That made sure she knew that this wasn't a joke and that this wasn't simply a game. He would kill her if he had the chance, without hesitation.
Her second swat was harder and her claws dug into his skin, drawing blood and making him snarl. He launched himself up, pushing towards her in hopes of using his bulk to get an advantage. His claws were aimed once more to her flesh, aiming this time for her face. People underestimated the usefulness of blinding ones opponent, he thought to himself, as he snarled.

Any fighter who has survived their first few fights knows what their weak points are. Their vulnerable spots. In’ta yowled when one of the red lion’s claws raked across her muzzle, jerking her head back and turning it in time to catch another claw in her left ear. It stung like crazy, but it was better than getting her eyes gouged out. She wasn’t particularly looking for new scars, especially on her face, but luckily enough she’d never been particularly vain. Scars happened. If she could protect someone from harm in earning them, then she would wear the badges of her actions with pride.
But while his attack on her face had met with some success, his attempts to use his bulk to gain an advantage were going to be sorely disappointing. It might have worked on a smaller feline, or someone who simply did not know to fight. In’ta was neither of these things. She was huge, and not an ounce of her size was from fat. She took the brunt of his weight with a low grunt, the blood tricking in her ear tickling in a very annoying manner that made her want to shake her head. And then she heaved once he’d begun to try to press his ‘advantage’ over her, intending to knock him over or at least knock him off of her for a moment or too. The blood leaking from her muzzle was making her feel like she had water in her nose, and she wanted to wipe it away already.
Perhaps the flower chains would have been a suitable distraction. At the very least she’d have gotten a good laugh out of it, especially the peculiar expression the red lion might have made. (((lol Dysil)))

Dysi winced as the female took a swipe to the face, feeling terrible for just hiding. He looked around his area quickly, hoping to find something – anything – to help them. A rock! He grinned, reaching down to grab it and, without really thinking, flinging it blindly. He peeked out.
Oh. It missed.
He frowned, but grabbed up another rock, taking aim this time and flinging it with at least a solid target in mind.
Bingo!
This rock struck the red lion in the head, and Dysi promptly ducked down again, willing to try to help but not really willing to get that involved. Plus, despite the now cut face, the female seemed to be doing a good job.
Sozin smirked as his claws made contact from her face, taking delight in the yowl that followed. Sozin, however, underestimated her strength and instead of shoving her to the ground, he was forced to stumble back, tripping slightly and loosing his balance, but he didn't fall. It was pure luck that kept him on his feet though, and for the moment, he was unbalanced.
Of course, that was when Dysi's rock found it's target, hiding him in the head and cutting him, 'causing him to yowl. He snarled in the direction the rock came from, but did nothing to chase after whoever threw it, keeping his gaze now firmly on the lioness. Well. It seemed like the little girly could fight. He snarled at her this time.

In'ta chuckled as the red lion reeled from a perfectly aimed throw. Well well, it looked like his helpless target wasn't exactly helpless after all. Good for her, sticking around to face her tormentor...in a safe way. Safe was good. Shame for the one picking on such a little leopard as that, compared to the pair of them the white feline was rather small.
While her foe was off balance, In'ta gave her head a shake to clear the blood from where it was dripping itchily into her ear, lifting a hasty paw to wipe it from her muzzle. It would make breathing easier when her nose was cleared off the stuff.
"Had enough yet, you great brute?" she spat when he snarled at her, hunching her shoulders as she crouched to make her neck thicker and her muscles stand out. He should know by now what manner of fighter he was dealing with. "I can do this sort of thing all day. Ask the black beast with the bones in his mane if you don't believe me..." Not that this lion would much care to find old bullies she'd beaten down. But what she lacked in speed and agility, and lets face it with a bulk like hers she wasn't a fancy dancy fighter, she made up for in strength and stamina both. She'd won a few fights solely on the basis that she could stand up longer than her opponent. Surely this one would be no different...

The red lion snarled, his paws tensed and ready to attack when he thought better of the attack. She was prepared to fight and he knew he could take her on (((lol, n'aw, Sozin. You couldn't.)) but he did not wish to be injured in the process. There were other toys in the savannah, and he could find one who didn't need to some bulky female to fight his battles for him. He took a step back from the female, still snarling at her. "You are lucky I ahve better things to do with my time then fight you over some pathetic leopard," he raised his voice, to make sure that disgusting leopard creature could hear him. "Who needs a girl to fight his battles for him!"
He narrowed his eyes at In'ta and snarled. He moved away, careful to keep her back away from her so that she did not think she could do something cruel, like attack him while his back was turn. Not that he couldn't fight her off, he just had better things to do.
Dysi stayed behind the bushes until Sozin had moved off a fair distance, before poking his head out and yelling after him, "If I'm so pathetic, stop attacking me, you jerk!" He knew Sozin was too far away to hear it, but it made him feel better to yell at the evil red male.
He glanced towards where his 'knight' stood, now free of the male's presence. He moved out from behind the bush, looking slightly ashamed of his cowardice. "Thank you, Miss," he said earnestly, giving her a warm smile. "I am sorry you got involved in all that...mess."

In'ta stood ready even as he began to back up, a smirk twisting its way across her maw before she tossed her head almost arrogantly, her tail sweeping dramatically behind her. "Then run. Run fast!" she hissed, chuckling and then laughing outright as Sozin fled...or retreated very cautiously backwards with his eyes on her.
Huffing a sigh once he was well enough gone, the bulky lioness settled herself back onto her haunches, rubbing a paw over her nose to try wiping the blood away. It stung, but really this was more annoying than painful...
"Oh, it's alright sweetling," In'ta soothed when the little leopardess slipped back out from behind the bush. "Fear is wise, especially when it is in regard to a sorry b*****d like that." The lioness smiled warmly, then snorted and licked the trickle of blood from her nose. Annoying. "Hopefully he'll let you be now love."

Sweetlings. That was a new name. Dysi blinked, but the smile on his face did not fade. He was use to girly things, and had been his entire life, so the girlish nickname didn't really phase him that much. Dysi shook his head, heaving a sigh. "I don't know why he follows me around. He attacked my daughter and me, and her mothers before. Had it not been for my daughter's future mate and his brother, we would have been out of luck." He smiled at her. "And now, again, I'm saved and this time by you."
He shifted forward, eyeing the cub on her face with sorrow. "Might I know your name?" He asked. "And I could find you something to heal that cut." A good mother always knew where to find herbs to heal her young, or so Dysi's mother had always taught him. Even if he wasn't a mother. Well, he sort of was.
