Marry You

It’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go,
No one will know,
Come on girl.
Who cares if we’re trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow,
Shots of patron,
And it’s on girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

I’ll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So whatcha wanna do?
Let’s just run girl.
If we wake up and you wanna break up that’s cool.
No, I won’t blame you;
It was fun girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Just say I do,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby. x2

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

So, here's the story.

Once upon a time, this guy was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He'd been fighting it for awhile, getting transplants from his family. However, he decided enough was enough. They weren't living their lives, instead, they were watching as his slipped away. No more. He refused any more treatment. He fought a good half a year before he passed away, leaving his parents, sister, and best friend behind.

Now, this doesn't seem like a very happy beginning, right?

Well, you see, things can change....

I'm used to opening my own doors and splitting the checks
He introduced me, was always just a friend
I bought a new dress, he never noticed

Scarlet Macey Blaire

Macey was sitting there, sulking internally at her life's most recent events. Today had been her brother's memorial service. She really couldn't believe he was gone. He'd been there her whole life. He always seemed so strong. Now, she wouldn't see him again. No more big brother to pick on her, or watch out for her. Marvin was gone, gone for good. Even Marvin's ashes had been spread in the Pacific, like he had wished, earlier that day. Not a single piece of him remained, other than the memories. It seemed like just moments ago he was joking and having fun with his family.

Now, as another last wish, she was there with her parents, and his best friend, Tyler, drinking to his life. They were just sitting and reminiscing. However, the time came to where her parents had to up and go. They were taking an early flight back home in the morning, and needed to get rested and sobered up. Not like it would change their mood. It was always horrible when a parent had to bury a child, it wasn't the right order of things. Once they walked out that door, she'd be left her there alone with Tyler.

Not that she'd have anything against that, just that he probably knew her brother best. It was odd seeing one without the other. Ever since they were little, he'd been his best friend, sleep overs, sports, etc. Mace was sure she'd get used to it, but really, she didn't want to. As her parents headed towards the door, she slowly stood up and embraced each of them in turn, exchanging 'I love you's' and the like before they walked out the door and got in a cab.

With that, Mace sat back down and took a sip from her drink. She didn't know what to say to Tyler, not really. She just hoped she didn't end up crying again.

Tyler had stayed quiet as he usually was, but it was worse now, now that Marvin was gone. He had sat alone for most of the night, not wanting to speak with anybody. He'd known Marvin forever, basically. Since they were kids.
When everybody left, he tried his best to speak but couldn't. It was only when he was left with Macey that he managed to do something. He got up and walked over to her, bottle of beer in one hand.
"How are you holding up?" he said quietly, sitting next to her.

Macey shrugged at the question. How was she holding up? She herself didn't quite know. She took another sip from her girly drink before verbally responding. "I guess I'm holding up alright. I mean...I could be better, sure as heck could be worse..." She said in a flat tone. Mace was personally worried that if she tried to express any emotion right now, she'd probably end up in tears. Regardless of how happy she started out.

However, that wasn't in her brother's wishes. She leaned her head on Tyler's shoulder as he sat beside her. "I suppose we should be happier, seeing as that's what Marvin wanted. He didn't want us to be so mopey...but it's hard to be anything but..." She stated, tapping the stem of her glass. Maybe getting straight up drunk would ease the mood. She was up for trying, she had nowhere to be in the morning. Mace finished up the rest of her drink before ordering something stronger.

Now, Macey wasn't that much of a drinker. Didn't do it much at college, but she'd try her damnest to cheer up. Even if that not remembering what happened in the morning. Then she could just make up what happened, and say it was happy. "What about you. How are you holding up, Ty?" Seeing as he was usually quiet, she couldn't honestly tell. She knew he would miss Marvin, probably as much as she would.

Ty slipped a comforting arm around her. He knew she could use the extra comfort. He also knew Marv didn't want them to mope and cry, but it was pretty much impossible.
He sipped his drink while she spoke, and thought her question over. "Better than I expected, I guess. I mean, it hurts, and it's damn hard, but...I'm holding up, I think. I'll make it." he said, downing his beer and putting it on the table next to them.
"I'll need like ten more of these." he joked half-heartedly.

Macey laughed slightly at his small joke as the server brought her a pitcher of some random drink that she had ordered. She really didn't care what it was, she just asked for something stronger. So, she poured herself a drink, and sipped on it. "Feel free to take some..." She said, gesturing to the nearly full pitcher in front of her. It burned her throat as it went down, but Mace wasn't too interested in registering the taste.

"I'm pretty sure whatever it is...It's stronger than your beer..." She added, trying to keep the subject away from her brother. Like that would happen for long. Mace and Marv. Sure, the two of them had fights while they were younger, but once they grew up, they were always there for eachother. She was sure going to miss her overly protective older brother. "You remember...back in middle school when the two of you were so ready to get your first kiss over with?" She asked with a small smile on her face. The smile was at the memory. It had been extremely embarassing at the time, but in retrospect, it was kinda funny.

While she waited for a response, she sipped idly on the mystery drink. She had to make sure something was distracting her from crying. Her eyes hurt from so many tears. Plus, she wasn't even sure if she could cry anymore.

Ty poured himself a full glass, downed it quickly, then poured another one. He didn't care that his throat burned like a fire, he needed the alcohol. He was starting to feel the effects, two beers and a glass of this later.
"Yeah...I remember." he said with a soft smile. "I can't believe Marv talked me into kissing you." he teased, bumping her gently with his arm. He saw her eyes watering a bit, red from crying.
"If you need to, just let it out." he said softly.

Scarlet Macey Blaire

Macey blushed slightly as he teased her, laughing as well. Yeah, she remembered that quite well. She was only in sixth grade while the two of them were in eighth. Her brother had lured her into his room with the promise of a suprise. She was told to keep her eyes tightly shut, or else it would be ruined. Of course, being the trusting sister she was, she listened. The suprise, however, wasn't much of a pleasant one. She had ran from his room crying.

It wasn't due to anything Ty did, really. Mace had been told a story in literature class from her lit teacher. It was about how her daughter had been sweet sixteen and never been kissed. It continued telling how the teacher had made a mix tape for her daughers boyfriend filled with songs like 'Kiss the Girl". Mace wanted something like that. She wanted to be sweet sixteen and never been kissed. Her brother had just ruined that for her, and she was devistated.

That was then. Looking back, it wasn't much of a big deal. It was only an extremely quick peck on the lips. But, no. Macey had to freak out. Macey giggled at the memory. "I acted so crazy about it..." She said, remembering her brother's apologetic look. He hadn't known about her sweet sixteen wish. As if to make up for it, he pointed out that she would be the first girl in her class to get her first kiss. She wasn't too upset after that. She had bragging rights. Macey drank some more of the beverage. "I didn't hurt your feelings, did I?"

She paused for a moment, recalling his statement. "No...no, Marvin wouldn't want me to be a big cry baby...I'm doing my best to refrain from that right now..." Mace said, giving Ty a greatful smile for understanding .

Ty chuckled. "No. I thought it was kinda funny how you freaked out." he teased. He had never expected that reaction, and it had been a little funny. Although when he had learned of her wish, he had felt a little bad.
At what she said, he smiled softly and held up his glass. "To Marv." he said quietly.

Macey was glad he also thought it was funny how she had freaked out. "That makes the both of us..." She commented, adding more to her glass. She felt the buzz the alcohol was giving her, and it made her feel a bit better. Good, it was working. No way was she going to be mopey all night. No, she was going to celebrate Marvin's life, not his death. His last few months had been interesting, to say the least. Once he refused treatment, he started living. Bungee Jumping, scuba diving, anything exciting, you name it. He wanted to feel as alive as he could, while he could.

"To Marvin..." Mace echoed, holding her glass up to Tylers and clinking them together. With that, she drunk half of it down. She sat her glass down and looked up at Tyler. She didn't know why she freaked out about him kissing her all those years ago. It's not like he was unattractive or anything. She was just being silly. With that thought, she gave a little laugh. It wasn't that loud of a laugh, but she knew Ty would hear it. Not like it mattered, really. Just that he'd probably ask why she laughed, and she'd explain and laugh again. Maybe he would laugh too.

Then people would stare. Who cared. They were all at a bar. All there to accomplish the same thing. So, why did she care if they laughed aloud? That's right. She didn't. At least not anymore. Five minutes ago she might have cared. Ten minutes ago, she definately would have cared. Now, not so much. .

Ty stared at his drink for a long moment afterward, downing it and pouring another one. He was definitely starting to get a bit drunk.
"I ever tell you how much I kinda enjoyed that kiss?" he said after a few minutes, the alcohol making it easier for things like that to just slip out.
