Chase had been sitting in his dorm room, on his bed, with one of the snowglobes he had one from that stupid raffle thing in his hands staring at it. He wasn't entirely sure why he was so fixated upon the object but he had found himself constantly thinking of it. It was strange to him, that some silly object like a snowglobe could invade his mind and prevent him from focusing on the stuff he was supposed to be studying.
Wasn't that a girl's job?
He tsked, tsked at himself as he turned it over and wound the key to play the melody. He set it back upon his desk, right next to the second one he had won, and listened in silence. Until his phone started buzzing across the wooden desk. He blinked, frowning, as he shook his head. It was like he had been shaken away from a dream.
He stood up once more to cross the room and picked up his phone. He slid a finger over it to unlock it, only to see the reminder blaring across the screen. Game night with Lily, the illuminated screen told him. He sighed, running a hand through his hair before snatching his wallet off the desktop, shoving it into his back pocket before heading out the door to meet his friend.
How easy was it to lose track of time now?

Lily sat in the music room of her house playing the piano. She was currently trying to learn to play a new song. Well to her it was partly new. It had come out years ago, she had heard a few times, but then it stopped being played. She was still pretty young then.
Sheet music to "Because Two People Fell In Love" sat before her and she was diligently playing, singing the song to make sure she kept the right tempo.
A knock at the door made her stop and look up to see her mother standing in the door with a smile. "Lily blossom, did you not tell me your friend Chase would be coming for game night."
Lily looked to the clock and frowned wondering how she'd lost track of time. Lily stood and hurried out of the room after putting away her music, "thanks mom."
She made her way to the library up stair, but had no idea what the should play. Lily frowned and went to her bedroom to grab her phone. She opened it, scrolled to find Chase's number and sent a text.Quote: Hey Chase What shall we play tonight? Cards, a board game, or something in the lounge ... air hockey, foosball, err pool ... don't forget the arcade streetfighter and mortal combat games. Let me know ... Lily Lily stood waiting for a return text so she woyld know what to set up.

Even as the pink-stripe haired boy made his way to his friend's home his thoughts kept drifting off to the snow globes that sat upon his desk. The melody it played ran though his head over and over again as he walked, bundled up, on the sidewalk leading up to Lily's house. About halfway there he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket and hurried to pull it out and pull off his glove so he could check the message.
He stopped walking to give him some time to think about her question. Quickly his fingers flew typing his response on the touch screen.
Sup Lil?
How about a board game, Risk maybe? IDK whatever you want, I picked last week, it's your turn.
♠ Chase
He hit send quickly as he rounded the corner to her street. It wouldn't take him much longer to get there.
[[So sorry I called her Maia, I have no idea why I thought that was her name, sorry!]

Lily jumped slightly as her phone buzzed in her back pocket. She quickly pulled it out and looked over the text. She blinked trying to remember what was done with Risk the last time it was played. She had not seen it in some time.
She headed out of her bedroom and back to the library to commence her search looking through the shelf stocked with games from childhood and beyond. They had gotten many over the years and most not longer got played. Lily frowned seeing the spot for Risk was empty and commenced searching other shelves for the game. After a few more minutes procured nothing she headed back over to the game shelf and looked over the many games.
It was her turn to pick and that meant she did not have to pick Risk anyway. Instead her finger brushed over scrabble and she grinned pulling it out and dusting it off. She walked over to the table, by the lamp in the corner behind the couch and moved the chess board, to set up the game of scrabble.
She suspect Chase would be coming in soon, knowing her mother would have eagerly greeted him and sent him up to the library. Her mother confused her sometimes. She only acted as such with Lily or Xander had visitors, but never Rose. It was so weird, like alter mom, or something.

It didn't take the pink haired boy long to reach Lily's front door. He paused a second to readjust his scarf before rapping his knuckles against the door. It wasn't long before he was ushered into the house, avoided as much conversation with Lily's mother as possible before hurrying up to the library. He liked his friend's mother well enough but he preferred to avoid engaging in too much conversation with her.
It was the principle of things.
"Lily!" He called cheerfully, a large grin decorating his face as he walked over to the table. "Scrabble?" He mused with surprise. "Been a long time since we played that, could definitely use this to practice my vocabulary," he chuckled sliding into the opposite seat."

Lily smiled seeing Chase walk over to the table where she'd sat looking at the scrabble bored and feeling a bit bored with waiting. "Hi Chase," she said still smiling, "it has been a long time. I thought my vocabulary could use a challenge."
Lily picked up the bag, slipped her hand in counting out seven letters and putting onto her holder. She handed the bag to Chase, "I know the rules say pick a letter to see who goes first, but since I got to pick the game, then you should go first."
She looked at her letter trying to see if she had a word, "I hope my mom did not give you to much hassle. You know how she can be sometimes. So excitable. I really do not understand it sometimes." She looked up at the end of her statement to see in Chase was ready to begin.
"Will you be starting us off with a good word, or will it be lacking," she asks with a grin.

"Really Lily, it should be ladies first," he replied with one of his more charming smiles. "But if you insist..." he trailed off sticking his hand in the bag and drawing out his own seven letters. He took a minute to consider them, while enclosed in the safety of his hand before arranging them careful in his holder. He sunk back in his chair, staring at the letters as his mind tried to decide on which word to use.
"Nah, it was no big deal, you know me," he looked up at her grinning. "Always good with people, especially parents," he chuckled shaking his head slightly. "Well most parents but mine, but that's usually how it goes isn't it?" He asked fingers running over the top of the carefully arranged letters before he plucked the D from the line.
"Don't worry, I've got this," he stated laying the letter down following it with a U, E, C, E. "Duece," he said reaching in the bag to pick a few more letters. "For once I got all the E's I needed."

Lily laughed lightly at the comment about parents, rolling her eyes as it to say yeah I know before returning her eyes to her letters. She looked up again a moment later as Chase spoke and then placed Duece on the board. Her face frowned up slightly in confusion before she reached out and moved the e in front of the u.
"You did mean deuce, like two right, elsewise I do not think that is a word," she said with a small smile at her eager friend figuring he had just put the letter down quickly without looking.
She picked up a notepad having a column drawn neatly down the middle and counted up the points for Chase before marking them down. 9 points to start of the game with a double letter score on the e. Placing the pad down Lily turned back to her own letter.
She grinned at Chase rearranging the letter before placing down from the C, an A, M, E, R, A. "Camera," she said with a smile before reaching into the bag for five more letters.

His brow furrowed as Lily corrected his spelling error and he pressed his lips into a thin line in not exactly anger but more of a small embarrassment. "Ah, right," he mumbled none too pleased with the fact that he had made the mistake in the first place. He quickly brushed it off, as she placed her letters down and looked at his own, new, letters trying to figure out a new word for him to play.
"Hm, well played Lily," he cracked a smile looking up at her briefly before looking back at his letters. He rubbed his mouth thoughtfully before he ran his through his hair. It took him a moment before he found a word he could play, it wasn't the best but he made due with what he had. From the 'D' he placed down U, C, K. "Not my favorite choice but, admittedly the pickings this round are slim," he told her with a shrug, dropping his hand from his face and digging for a few more letters. Next turn would be better.
He hoped.

Lily recorded the points, but frowned deeply when she looked to her letter. All vowels. How had she managed all vowels? It sucked immensely every time that happened because it was really hard to make a word when you only had the constants on the board to work with and usually only one at that.
She picked up an A and put it in front of the R in camera, then but an E in front of the A. "Ear," she proclaimed with a slight pout. It wasn't a good work, not even remotely and she had just barely been able to make it because of duck, but she was luck she managed.
She recorded her measly points and looked to Chase. "Alright, it you turn. Tell me you can extend us out of this box we've created."

The game was seemingly taking a turn for the worse as Lily placed down a three letter word, one that didn't seem to extend any further than the one he himself had created. He frowned briefly, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he examined his jumbled letters. He had made no effort in arranging them in any specific order, preferring instead to randomly pick the letters and hope for the best.
"I hope so, we don't get anywhere if all we have are small words," he replied cheerfully grinning up at the redhead as he tapped the tops of his letters as he considered his neck move. He plucked a U from his letters placing it to the right of the C in duck followed by a T, I, E. It wasn't much better but Cutie provided them with at least more of an option.
"Sorry Lils, it was the best I could do," he shrugged fishing a few more letters and arranging them neatly on his stand. "I always hated this part of the game."
