This was awkward, and what pleasure there could have been in the meeting was stolen by the past that still held her son's emotions fast. Three grown stallions stood before Sgina, one dark with blue stripes looked almost mean and upset about being there. Another was dark with long curly pink hair he tried to smile but seemed nervous of the vibes the first was putting off and the third a white stallion with blue stripes that seemed curious but almost indifferent to the whole thing. The white one looked like a male version of Sgina even.
The meeting was not long lived, her son Victor snapped some introductions and small talk before turning to leave letting his own sons decide rather they would stay and talk or even bother to say good bye. The white one motioned his head as a good bye before following his father. Von on the other hand said for a moment in silence, before explaining he was the one who wanted to meet her and he would like to meet her again. Then he said good bye before racing after his father. Sgina stood there quite her only comfort that Von wished to see his Grandmother again. He could see that she was not the same mare their father had most likely told them she was, why couldnt Victor see? There was a time when Victor cared for Sgina but she had managed to push him away like so many others.
Sgina sniffled slightly before pinning her ears back she wanted to find Aether NOW! She needed him and wasn't sure why she had wandered from his side. Why couldn't she stop doing that? Maybe if Aether had been there, Victor would have behaved. Sgina opened her wings though she hated flying she knew the fastest way to find her mate would be in the sky. It took her more then one try to get off the ground, her messed up wing and lack of practice made it hard for her. She wasnt the most graceful flier and she stayed low fearing a long drop. Sgina scanned the skies and the ground for her mate and calmed herself as she flew. It seemed he always had to comfort her and she was determined not to let him know she was upset.

Aether had just let Maion and was lookng for Sgina. She had wandered off when he had gone to find his sisters herd and now he needed to find her to tell her that he was joining them and wanted her to come with. She was his everything and had to keep her safe. He flew high as he looked for her. He hoped that she wasn't getting in to anything over her head. He remembered the first time that they had met...saving her from wolves. He had always tried to be there for her forever!
He looked over everything around where he had just about been when she left to look for what ever she needed to go look for. He saw something a few moments later and heard her voice on the wind calling his name. "Sgina!" he called out as he angled his large wings to get to her. She never flew...why was she up here? Was something the matter? He flew next to her side and looked at her. "Whats going on? I never see you fly love? Land and talk with me." he said with a smile as he headed for the ground. He made sure that she landed first before he would so that he could be sure she landed fine with her bad wing.

Sgina smiled when she saw him and breathed a sigh of relief. "Everything is fine, I just wanted to find you." she replied before concentrating on landing which was easier then taking off, but she wasn't taking any chances. She shook her wings out and tucked them on her back where they belonged. Sgina waited for him to land before nuzzling him.
"I'm gonna promise to wander off less...I don't like not knowing where you are. And Im not sure why I wandered off in the first place. My hooves are used to it I guess." Sgina smiled up at him flicking her tail happily to make sure he wouldn't think something had upset her. Sgina was back beside him and that's all that mattered. Von knew how to find her when he wished other then that the past was in the past and that is where it would stay. Sgina had her knew life with Aether and that's all she needed.

Aether smiled at her as he landed and felt her move to him and nuzzle him. He laughed lightly and nuzzled her back. "Oh i missed you. I'm glad you don't want to wander more cause I don't like being away from you or not knowing where you are. I worry too much if i'm not around to keep you safe love." he said as he nuzzled her. He smiled at her as he looked over her. "What have you been up to this go around?" he asked as he smiled and nuzzled her again. "I have something to talk to you about as well love. But it can wait a little bit." he said with a smile.

"I missed you to, yes my wandering from you has to stop. There is no reason for me to go off alone anymore. Please don't worry I avoid trouble as much as I can now. Ive got you, I don't have a need to find trouble anymore to fill whatever void I was trying to fill." Sgina nuzzled him again before turning to start a walk. Which also gave her a moment to make a face to his next question without him seeing it. "Nothing..woke up and just started walking like I always do. Nothing ..happened just started to worry about you..........gotta make sure no mare is tryin to steal you." Sgina said with a giggle. "Talk away there is no reason to wait." She turned her head to smile at him.

Aether smiled at her and rumbled in his chest happily as he listened to her. "Oh well i'm very glad you stay safe! And i'm even more glad that you don't want to wander too much more. Did you see anything interesting on your trip?" he asked with a smile. He looked at the sky. "I went and looked for my sisters herd. I had heard about them before...but...missing you when you would wander and missing my son Run's baskets being born...I want to be around family. I want to keep you safe and happy. And the kids we'll eventually have safe. Maion, my sisters mate, has accepted me, and you if you want to join, into the herd. If you want to come see the area and meet every one then we can go visit and get to know them before you make your choice." he said with a smile as he nuzzled her.

"....No..not a thing. Just forest." Sgina's head tilted down watching her hooves one the ground was it wrong for her to lie. She didn't want to talk about it and she had to say something or he would ask more questions.
Sgina listened with perked ears, she had also missed her son Victor's baskets being born, in fact she didn't even know what Victor's mate looked like or what her name was. She smiled a bit and turned her head to look at Aether when he mentioned them having foals. "I want that too....." Sgina started to say, but she realized Aether wasn't done speaking. Her ears pinned back a bit and she really couldn't do anything to hide the emotions bubbling to her face. "Herd? Family? ...Noo I can't it wouldn't work you know that Aether." Sgina turned away a bit and fluttered her wings a bit from her nerves.
"We could protect the foals on our own just fine." Sgina sounded almost childish in the way she said it. She was quickly getting grumpy over the suggestion. "What kinda choice have you left me with?... You can't be in a herd and wander with me too. I either have to join it with you, leave and only visit you sometimes, or our relationship ends here. Though I rather not even think on that last one. " Sgina pawed a hoof at the ground not sure what to think. Herds and family members, she breaks them apart! Her mother and father might still be together if it weren't for her. Which not only broke up a family but a whole herd. She couldn't risk that happening to any one else, it would be selfish to risk such a thing, wouldn't it?

Aether smiled at her and nodded. "Getting to see more of the forest is fun! It can be a great experience if you don't run into trouble." he said with a smile. He watched her as they walked and smiled. He knew that she wanted kids, his kids, and he wanted nothing more to give her children to help make her happy. His smile faded a little when she got upset. "You don't have to worry about them. Their nice and no one will hurt you and they wont judge you. You don't have to make up your mind but will you come meet them." He said as he nuzzled her seeing how upset she was. "We will protect them. I just miss my family, and would love to have the ones i can be close to me. To see their family. I don't think my sister has ever met my Auberon before. And i've never met her children. You can be around with us with out joining. You can be with me when ever and not have to be a part of the herd. Maion said you could be around how ever often you want to and stay how long you like."
He didn't want her to think he would leave her! He nuzzled her neck and nibbled on her ear. "I'm not leaving. I wont ever leave you. I'd like you to come with, join or dont, what ever you would feel better about doing im ok with. But you can be with me with out joining. I wont leave you. Sgina i love you and your mine. If...If it bothers you that much i don't have to join but i would like to be there and know my family better." he said softly as he wrapped one of his large wings around her body and pulled her close.

Sgina listened to her mate and turned to look at him. Her eyes were filled to the brim with worry. "I'm not worried about your family or your herd my love. It's me. I'm long past worrying what others think of me. What I can't do, is risk ruining anyone lives again. Aether I broke up my parents and when they broke up an entire herd fell apart and it was my fault. I don't know when or if who I was will ever surface again, but it could. I still have dreams where I think the way I used to and it scares me." Sgina sighed she hated to think that one day she could just snap and go on a rampage.
Her hair fell into her eyes as she tilted her head downwards to think about everything Aether had said. He missed his family, and his sister, he still had a family that wanted him around. Sgina would not get in the way of that for him. "I'll meet them, but I can not stay. I want you to join though, I'll just have to continue to wander from you, every now and then. I can never be in a herd again." Sgina leaned into her mate and looked at her hooves. If only he had met her before, he would understand. Perhaps that was best though everyone that she had met in the past was gone from her life. Even Victor had made it clear that he was not interested in giving her another chance. She had always hoped for him out of everyone to forgive her. "I need to tell you the truth, I didn't want you to know I was upset before when I came to find you. I don't want you to ever think that is the only reason I seek you out. But my son Victor came to find me, he didnt even want to give me a chance to ask for forgiveness. The only reason he came to find me is because his grown sons asked about their family. Two grown sons....I didn't even know Victor had found a mate. One looked just like me.....the whole meeting was horrid. It was like Victor was saying here is your freak of a grandmother now lets go. At least one of his sons Von has promised to seek me out when he can. I sense that Victor keeps a strong hoof on them, they don't seem...very socialized...." Sgina pinned her ears back and again and hung her head. "Why did I mess things up so bad, Aether?" She knew he really couldn't answer but he knew how to comfort her and right now she just wanted them to talk together.

Aether looked at her and nuzzled her neck. "Oh love i don't think you could ever break apart this herd. My sister and Maion are much too attached. But I'll let you see it all your self. I'll always be here to help you feel better about everything. And i'm sure if you start acting like you told me you used to i could help calm you down. Everything will be ok." he said with a smile as he nuzzled her nose. He listened to her tell him about her son and her grandsons. He felt bad for his poor love. She wasn't on good terms with most of her family and he was dragging her off to meet his and she was scared to hurt them.
"Love Auberon likes you alot. And i know Rune will as well. And my sister is going to like you and Maion wants to know you just from me talking to him. I'm sure if your grandson Von wanted to come spend time over with you when your with me he would be welcome as long as he doesn't cause problems. But know that i'll always be here to help keep you happy. And to help keep you in good spirits. At least if Von comes to visit he could get some socialization in with the rest of the herd." he said as he walked along with her, keeping his large wing around her so she felt better protected from all the things that she seemed worried about.

Sgina tucked her head under her mates wishing she could trust in herself as he did in her. "I suppose you're right,back then I cared not for anyone like I care for you. Perhaps this is what keeps me strait now?" Sgina hoped this was the truth behind her turned leaf.
"Does he? ...What did you tell him exactly?" She said with a smile trying to not be so gloomy as they started to walk again. "I don't know much about Von, but he seems like a good boy...like Victor before I broke all his hopes and dreams of being in a giant family...." Sgina said with a sigh shaking her head a bit. "I promise I'll do so much better with our children."

Aether looked at her and smiled glad she was warming up a little more to this idea. "Perhaps i am helping you in such a way." he said with a smile. He hoped he was. He didn't want her to feel bad like she did before he was in her life. He knew she had had it pretty hard and he wanted to keep her safe and happy.
"He does. He knew me before i met you, before my boys. So he wants to see you cause i've changed quite a bit since he met me. I'm less absentminded. I'm more brave and i'm more hansom if i do say so. But i think i'm hansom cause you complement me and we make each other more beautiful." he said with a smile as he nuzzled her. "He wants to know you and i'm sure my sister will want to be friends. And i don't need a giant family. I just need you to be happy. And I am sure you will be a wonderful mother to any children we have."

Sgina smiled a bit though she was still worried and pretty sure this herd thing wouldn't work for her, she could forget it for now. That's right she would just enjoy walking with her mate.
Sgina nudged him with her shoulder. "You don't sound full of yourself at all, but the worse part is I can't disagree with you. You are a very handsome stallion. ..Friends?..." She repeated thinking over the word. Now she has had a mate, she had had a herd and family, but never had she bothered to try and have a friend. "I suppose...what does being a friend mean exactly?" Sgina looked up at her mate as they walked honestly not sure if their were requirements involved.

Aether smiled at her and purred. "I'm glad that you agree but your leaving your self out of it. Your just as beautiful as i am. And more so then when i met you love!" he said with a smile as he nuzzled her. "Friends are there to talk to and walk with and live close to and share interests. Friends will do anything to help eachother." he said with a smile. He nuzzled her. "You will be a good friend when you warm up to them all." he said with a smile.
As they walked along he looked ahead and in the distance saw a small pink basket laying on the side of the trail by a tree. "What is that up there?" he asked as he frowned hoping it wasn't what he thought it was.

"Ah but I just got you to say all that nice stuff, by not saying anything about myself love." Sgina giggled giving a flick of her tail before nuzzling her mate. "Well if I'm permitted to say, Ive been trying to keep in shape for you....when we first met I didn't see the point anymore, but now it feels good to have my muscles back. Sgina did a rare thing and moved ahead of Aether to strut for him. She had indeed been trying to get her shape back, though to her beauty was in the strength of muscles that rippled as she moved showing off her markings.
Sgina stopped upon hearing her mate ask a question. She tilted her head and moved towards the object he had pointed out. She was curious as to what pink think could be way out here. She couldn't believe her eyes it was a basket out here and seemingly alone! "Its a basket! Not just any basket, but Im pretty sure there is a foal inside!" Sgina sniffed at it a bit before turning to look expecting to see a parent charge at any moment. She hadn't been the best mother in the word but no one had ever been aloud near her baskets that's for sure. "Why do you suppose...?" Sgina trailed off still looking about for the owner of the basket.
