Having just gotten off another long day and he was now curled up with his book in the Cafe. The table he flopped down in was facing the door, only a little away from it. He was thinking hard but having a charmander who wanted to sleep in his lap made it too difficult to focus on training, or on his reading. A highlighter was in his hand and he chewed on the cap of it. in his other hand the red book read Explosion moves.
Above him a black haunter floated around playing with the forgotten sunglasses. Shadow had decided they would make great accessories on himself and was checking himself out in the reflection of a picture frame.

There are few things in this world that go perfectly with a good read; two are chocolate and coffee. Right now, Tambrey could really go for a nice, dark cup of coffee to accompany her own book. The title is partially visible as she carries the book in her arms- the words 'Myste-' and 'Drood' legible in black upon the powder blue cover. She moves to set the book down upon a table nearby before she secures coffee, pausing to eye the reading man and admire the haunter momentarily. "Nice shades." She comments to the pokemon dryly.

The haunter turned to the human and puffed up a bit. He floated closer his tongue coming out of his mouth and ready for a big sloppy lick.
"Don't even think about it." a sharp voice snapped at the black haunter. Green eyes glared at the pokemon. "Please excuse him. He's excited for training."

Tambrey eyes the ghost pokemon curiously, but cooly, taking a half step back when the tongue appears.
"Palu." She mutters, letting the bird pokemon out of her ball. "You'll probably get along with him better than I will." The Pidgeotto tilts her head and eyes the Haunter with skepticism.
Tambrey, meanwhile, looking back to the other grunt, takes an interest in the book. "Explosion?" She smirks. "Curious how they can become so excited over such a thing as blowing themselves up. He's excused, by the way." She's still heading for coffee, but sidesteps to retrieve her book and move it closer, setting it upon the same table. "I'm guessing you won't mind?" Palu tilts her head back the other way, regarding the sight of a Haunter in sunglasses, while she perches upon the back of a chair.

"Not at all take a seat." he set his book down, giving up on his glasses for the moment. "Yeah, but I like explosions too, as long as they aren't in my room." he grabbed his coffee and took a long sip and made a face. "Cold."
The haunter floated over to the Pidgeotto and made eye contact with his trainer and took his tongue out and gave the bird a slow lick all across it's face and then laughed manically.
The effect was not the reaction the haunter was looking for. instead it was a small rolling of the eyes and the setting down of the cup.

"You don't like cold coffee?" Tambrey seems... surprised to find someone who doesn't. She grins though. "I was going to get myself a cup, but if you're going up for another..? I take it black, no sugar."
She takes his invitation to take a seat, without waiting to see if he'll actually go up for coffee or not, and sits her wrists on top of her, still closed, book. Her Pidgeotto's predicament gets little more than a smirk. "Told you you'd get along with him better." She comments to the bird.
Palu shakes her head and voices an indignant "Pidgeotto!" in complaint. She shudders after the lick and turns quite a frown on the ghost pokemon. There's a moment of hesitation while the avian thinks... Then she tilts her head again, leans forward and tries to take the sunglasses from the haunter in retaliation for the licking.

He raised an eyebrow at her and the edge of his mouth tilted down a bit. It was then that he spotted the pidgeotto going after his sun glasses and he got up. "Alright give those back. You are going to break them." he yelled quietly.
The haunter flailed and swung away, but still lost the glasses. "Haunter!" shadow whined, feeling ten times less cool without them.

Palu raises her head, rather proudly and a little pompously. There's certainly a smugness around the bird once she's taken the glasses, especially as the haunter whines; clearly the action has had the desired effect. Then, there is quiet yelling. The pidgeotto tilts her head and frowns again. She looks at Panther then to her trainer, not willing to follow orders from this stranger.
"Hey, you got up!" Tam brightens and then bites her lip and frowns at her pokemon. "All right Palu, give them back to... Thingy... or his haunter, and maybe he'll get us coffee." She assigns a nickname; not aware of what to call him.
The pidgeotto, however, looks rather reluctant. Palu looks from haunter, to trainer, to haunter and trainer. Finally, she starts to offer them back out to the other grunt.
Tam's fingers are snaking across to try and pilfer the red book; her intention is to try and have a quick and sneaky nose at the contents if she can.

"Thankyou." he took his glasses back and snagged a napkin, removing a fine layer of ghost drool from it before putting them back on. "And you can call me Panther. What is your name?"
Behind him, the haunter was loudly morning the lost of his sunglasses. he wailed, tears spring from his eyes and his hand thrown dramatically across his face. "Haunter!"
"Oh go finish my coffee you big baby."
The effect was instant, the haunter floated over the table and grabbed the coffee, slurping it down.
The book was opened to a page with situations that should and shouldn't be used for the move, as well as a list of pokemon immune to the effects of explosion. highlighter went over some of the pokemon.

"Panther? Huh." The trainer tilts her head this time; she has the book held in her left hand, thumb holding it open to keep the page. "That's... an interesting name. I like it. Choose it yourself? Oh..." She shrugs. "My name's nothin' special; Tambrey- but you can call me Tam' if you want. And, it's still black, no sugar if you're getting it." She traces a finger down the book, scrutinizing the lists from behind her glasses, and nodding apparent approval. "Huh. Useful book. Always did agree with detail in research..." That's probably a compliment.
Palu actually dips her head as she hands... or beaks... over the sunglasses, and aknowledges the thankyou. The haunter's antics get an eyeroll and a feather ruffle, then a hop and a disgusted look as the other pokemon goes for the coffee. The introductions nearby get her attention and she stamps a foot on the back of the chair and puffs herself up.
"Oh, yes. That's Palu..." Tam' comments, picking up her bird's disapproval without looking up. "She doesn't like not being introduced. Who is the stylish one?" Her free hand gestures to the haunter.

"Tam." he nodded, being sure to remember the name. "That over there is Shadow. He's a bit mischievous, I'd suggest keeping an eye on him." said pokemon grabbed the sugar container and was now pouring it directly into his mouth, tongue out to catch it all.
"I figure the book would help me with ideas on how to use it, more importainly when not to use it. I'll grab coffee, oh and nice to meet you Palu." he headed over to to grab both coffee's black, and then returning a short time later.

Palu dips her head and ruffles herself proudly as the other human tells her it's nice to meet her. Well, of course it is; the bird straightens up and smiles beakily and smugly. The smug look quickly turns into a bird-frown of distaste as the haunter devours the sugar and Palu watches with disbelief and a snort of disgust.
"Eh. Nice to meet you, Shadow." Tam' raises her hand in a wave, but her eyes don't leave the page she's looking over until she's inspected every word. "Oh, really? That can't be... I'm sure he's just a little angel, really- he seems so sophisticated and well behaved..." She comments airily, with a smirk. "Thanks for the coffee." She pushes the red book back across the table. "It's nice to meet someone who can do the research."

Panther looked at the now empty sugar container and shook his head. "Oh yes, perfectly well behaved." The haunter spotted Pula watching and grabbed the salt and pepper shakers and floated over to her, fully intent on pouring it over her.
"Do it and die, again." those words froze Shadow in his tracks and he mumbled something that sounded like it might be profane under his breath.
"I take it you were enjoying my book." He sipped his new hot coffee.

Palu looked rather alarmed at the haunter approaching with salt and pepper shakers. She spread her wings, held her head high and glared at Shadow. The glare became smug once more, of course, once Panther threatened the haunter. "Pidgeotto!" She nodded at the ghost pokemon with what could only be the 'smirkiest' expression a bird might manage.
"/Don't/ goad him." Tambrey advised Palu without looking over. She then nodded to Panther. "It's a most informative book- not my usual fair outside of a project but I certainly agree with reference reading. You research all the moves you want?" She dragged her own book toward her, opening it before she took a much enjoyed sip of the deliciously bitter coffee before her.

"No, just the moves that are likely to take my leg off if used wrong." he shot her a humored look and took his book back. "Actually, I'm just a guns and explosives kind of guy. It's a hobby. So what is your book there?"
Shadow floated above his trainer moping. "Haunter!" he cried exaggeratedly.
