A yellow haired witch was currently frowning at a coat on the grass. She had taken the coat out into the woods to make sure she didn't break anything in her dorm. Clothing had been known to attack her whenever she had tried to animate them. But she had to keep trying! Lilura sighed as she stared at the coat she was trying animate. It was the largest thing she had tried but she had hoped it being made of cloth would make it easier. She wanted it to be able to button itself up and hang itself up. But so far it just crossed its arms at her.
"Come on you stupid coat. Please work," she sighed.
Lilura took a deep breath as she began to concentrate. She raised her hands up to her sides and began to chant her spell. A circle formed underneth her then another one under the coat. Symbols of the zodiac and runes appeared beneath both of them. The light began to glow brighter in the circles, Lilura's eyes began to glow as her chanting got louder. The symbols began to spin and Lilura's symbol began to glow on the coat. Finally she said the last of her spell and the glow died away. She stood and waited expectantly. Suddenly the coat sprang to life, Lilura was so happy.....until it ran towards a tree and proceeded to climb up it
"NO! Augh!!" she ran to the tree trunk and looked up into the branches as the coat climbs about. Finally it settled into the crook of a branch and feel limp.
"Stupid coat," she frowned up at it.

Alessa had found herself in a pinch. She was so enamored with the school's campus that she didn't want to spend any time inside studying! She wasn't exactly extremely interested in learning, per say, but she did want to be able to take care of herself and if she didn't keep up with things then she was in trouble. So she had decided that if she was going to go outside today she was going to at least bring a book with her.
Wandering around she paused when she saw a girl a little ways off doing...what was she doing? Something with a coat and...r-runes? Alessa stiffened nervously. While there were things she was far more afraid of than magic (being eaten, for instance), it still wasn't something she was at all comfortable with. Her favorite spot to sit was this way, though, so if she ran off...clutching her book to her chest she tried to pluck up her courage. It didn't seem to want to be very plucky, but she managed to walk very briskly past the reaper ghoul, who was now looking at her tree bound coat, hoping that if she just kept going she wouldn't be noticed and everything would be fine, no magic required.

Unfortunately for Alessa the coat wasn't done. With Lilura distracted with finding a way to get it down, the coat seemed to 'spot' the bunny. It suddenly jumped to land right on top of her head. Lilura eeped a bit as the coat jumped then gasped as it landed on the previously unseen person. Oh she hoped it wasn't a teacher! She so didn't want detention considering the horror stories she had heard.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!!! I didn't think it would just....I mean I didn't tell it to...oh man," she flailed a bit trying to get the jacket off the girl. It, however, wanted to stay firmly on her. It wrapped it's arms around her head and refused to let go. Finally, in frustration, Lilura said the deactivation incantation and the coat fell limp. She got it off the girl's head and looked completely dejected.
"Failed again," she sighed. Would she ever be the great Animator her great-grandmother was?

Oh boy, oh boy, she should have seen it coming! Or maybe not, because getting eaten by a coat had never really entered her mind in the realm of possible horrors, but she should have known better, after all she'd seen stranger things in Halloween Town before. That didn't make the experience any less mortifying. When the coat latched onto her she yelped or squealed or made some sort of high pitched sound as she immediately ducked down, grasping with both hands trying to yank the thing off. Unfortunately, she was failing miserably. What was she supposed to do? Usually she changed when she was attacked but uh...being a small fluffy bunny really didn't seem like a good idea right now.
When the ghoul finally made the coat stop somehow (she wasn't really able to tell how, since she couldn't see to begin with), Alessa tumbled back into the grass landing on her bottom. She was breathing heavily and her hair was an absolute mess, but otherwise she looked alright. "W-what in Jack's name...?" she gasped in horror.

Lilura covered her eyes and sighed. Once again her magic had made something attack another person. She really needed to just stay in her dorm room and take the hits herself. No more outside animating. It was too dangerous and anyone could happen along and be attacked. She knelt down to the frightened girl and tried to smile.
"I'm...so sorry! I didn't think a coat could be hostile. Are you ok? I'm Lilura," she held out her hand to help the girl stand up. She hoped the other was ok. Her golden eyes looked so sad. Why couldn't she do these spells right? So far she had only done a few of them correctly, thankfully gifts given to her friends. But those were very small items, a pencil and a tape measure. She had to learn to animate bigger things.
"That living coat would be my fault. I'm an animator reaper," she sighed.

"Why...why would you want to make a man-eating coat?!" Alessa asked, still startled, though she sounded more breathless than anything. She shot the other ghoul a narrow look, but immediately dropped it when she saw how sad she looked. Well, everyone made mistakes, she supposed. She sighed and took the other ghoul's hand, though she she wasn't generally keen on getting help from others for the most part. But, if it made the ghoul feel better.
After standing up, she raked her fingers through her hair and tried to settle it, but it seemed unlikely that it would be fixed for now. "Y-yeah, I'm alright. Why...what were you trying to make that coat do, anyway?"
