shortly after I had my first baby I had to have the top two removed, because the pregnancy had leeched so much calcium from my body even with the prenatal vitamins, that they had mostly chipped away and were pretty painful.
And now, with this current pregnancy, the same thing is happening with the bottom two, but rather than wait until after I have the baby, I was brave enough to go the other route & have them taken one at a time, with only the shots in the gums to numb the area. I got the bottom left one done today, and I'm pretty drowsy from the pain meds right now.
I just wanted to post this somewhere in the guild so you guys would know why I might not be around a whole lot in the next few days.
They scheduled the other one for February 22nd, so I have time for this one to heal.

Ouch! I hope you feel better soon. (just so you know, in the future you can put little up dates like this in the main chat. It's really the best place to let everyone know whats going on.)

Good luck.
I totally had to do that route. Since I had to take care of my son and my husband was deployed with no family members or anyone that could watch him overnight, I got mine removed in two sittings with just local anesthesia. It was a little unnerving, but not as bad as people make it out to be. I found just using the Aleve and using the Tylenol III to sleep helped a lot, and I really didn't use much of the pain medicine past the first two days.

Hikari Aijuntani Ouch, I'm sorry you had/have to go through that. I've been avoiding getting nmine done at ALL costs. ninja so did I, until it got so painful that I could barely eat anything at all.... I hate going to the dentist, but when the tooth is so far gone that you can feel the nerve underneath it, it's time to get it taken care of sweatdrop

Usually with Wisdom teeth, the ideal time to get them removed is when they're about 75% formed and they'll just pop right out without many problems. Mine were like that and pretty easy. But they were all still impacted.
Good luck getting those other teeth removed, Zan!

Yeah, 11 years ago when the dentist noticed I was getting them in, he really should have set up an appointment for me to get them out.... neutral

oh bless you. I have only had one removed, it wasnt causing me pain, it was just that there wasn't room in my mouth to let the one above it grow, so if I had left it then it would have caused me pain later. I am sure you will be healed nice and fast, the only thing I remember avoiding at all costs was hot drinks....it hurt! Just a little tip incase you haven't been warned, though I am sure you have.

eek, wisdom teeth! I'm sorry for all the crap you're having to go through with them. I send you thoughts of tylenol and lidocaine-y goodness, and quick healing.
I'd also like to point out that you might take solace in the fact that at least two of them are gone, never to return (lucky) and the other two will soon follow suit (future lucky.)
Meanwhile, my first wisdom tooth just cut through a couple weeks ago. With all the horror stories I've heard of them, I wish it were over! crying

The only thing military insurance does not cover for dependents is Dental Insurance. *Sigh* I have been avoiding getting my widsom teeth taken out since I was first told that I should get them out. Now, my bottom ones are comming in and it is certainly painful. My problem is that I faint when I get injections and stop breathing. Soooo... I don't wanna go!

*hugs Yi* It's these bottom ones that have caused me the most trouble, too. I know how you feel. But in three more days I'll be completely wisdom tooth free!

Zan_Demona *hugs Yi* It's these bottom ones that have caused me the most trouble, too. I know how you feel. But in three more days I'll be completely wisdom tooth free! *Hugs back* Good luck with it! heart I remember how miserable my husband was after he got his taken out. We are going to go on Wednesday to register for my dental and then talk to a dentist for the best way to deal with me. It really is complicated for me to get shots. lol So, maybe they can use gas, like they did for my little sister.
