The Return of the Grombies

[Kaysin_Enorai]

Kaysin Enorai is a well known citizen of Barton Town and has been around since the first ball. He's a warrior and had been through many fights, but lately he had been more comfortable setting up a shop and selling both his art and monsters for fellow Gaians to breed and raise. That's why when he heard the sound flooding the streets as he was closing up shop, he looked up in suprise as it grew louder, closing in on him. "That sounds like...thumping...but it's not Easter? And it sounds too fast, like thousands of feet pounding the pavement..." HIs eyes widened in shock as the glass front of his store shattered and filled with a green mass of fur. "The Grunnies are back!"

Kaysin rolled to the corner and grabbed his b*****d sword just as the first grunny pounced, slashing its exposed belly, knocking it back. The grunny landed with a hiss, it guts leaking from its underbelly, it prepared to attack again, as more grunnies crouded the shop. "This smells like G-Corp's work. I thought I was done with this bull." Kaysin grumbled as he prepared for another attack.

Kaysin slams his sword downward, looking to finish off the grunny, but his sword hits the ground near it and the little green furball jumped on the sword and runs up to the hilt where it launches itself on Kaysin's face, sinking its fangs into his soft flesh. "Aaaargh!" Kaysin screamed out in pain as the critter began gnawing at the skin.

"Get off me you Vermin!" Kaysin grabbed the little critter and flung it from his face, slamming it into the wall. He checked his face, minor damage, a little blood, nothing too bad, but enough to anger him. He glared and ran towards the grunny.

As he reached the grunny who stood by the wall, he kicked it in the stomach as hard as he could. The grunny made a squeak nose as his foot sunk into its soft underbelly. "Take that you vial critter!"

With a boom, Kaysin launched a finishing fireball from his hands, disintegrating the little beast. As he breathed in relief, a sudden loud pair of feet came storming from outside. The grunnies scurried out of the way as a labtech grombie burst through the door and raised his arms as he let out a roar. "Great...round 2." Kaysin panted.

The labtech walked up to Kaysin silently and threw a punch, Kaysin took it straight in the jaw and hit the floor. He stood up and threw a half-hearted punch at the grombie, too tired to make effort. The fist hit skin but didn't leave an impact. Labtech's response was to grab Kaysin's arm and bend it back, an evil smirk spread across his face.

Kaysin tried to break free of the Labtech's grip, he did a backflip, attempting to kick the grombie in the jaw, but all he hit was air. The labtech balled up his other fist and started letting loose with a series of punches to Kaysin's gut, still holding one of his arms with his other hand firmly. The grunnies gathered around and watched, chipping and chirping as Kaysin got his rear end handed to him.

Kaysin balled up his free hand and swung at the labtech with all the strength he had left in him, and hit the air in front of the grombie with a loud whoosh. The grombie simply twisted Kaysin's arm back more, a snapping noise could be heard as the arm reached it's limits, causing a loud scream to escape Kaysin's lips. The grunny audience drooled in anticipation as they waited for Kaysin to be finished off and their feast to begin.

Kaysin was exhausted, his arm, probably broken and he didn't even phase the labtech yet, but he HAD to survive. People counted on him. He reached past the point of desperation and lowered his screaming head down on that arm that held him in place and bit down hard. To the suprise of both the labtech and Kaysin, the grombie felt a sharp pain and released his grip. Kaysin stumbled back holding his arm. "Got you!" He spit out the blood he had taken in during the bite and stared at the labtech, who stared back with empty eyes.

Kaysin lunged forward again, this time going for a headbutt. His legs sprung, sending him flying at the labtech, who just simply sidestepped out of the way and let Kaysin's inertia do the rest. Hitting the brick wall head first hurt, but Kaysin refused to give up, he staggered to his feet, left arm limp, head hung low, and few drops of blood dripped from his bruised and battered face. "I'm not...going to let you...RUIN CHRISTMAS!!!!" His head shot up as a burst of adrenaline shot through his body.

Kaysin ran forward with his new vigor and threw his good arm in a straight punch at the labtech, the fist flew past the grombie's ear and the labtech replied by returning the bite to the arm Kaysin had done to him earlier.

Kaysin flinched as the teeth sank in, but he refused to let it phase him. The limp arm balled up as adrenaline seemed to re-animate it. With a life seemingly all of its own, that fist burried itself into the labtech's chest, knocking the wind from him and pushing him back, leaving a few teeth embedded in his arm. Kaysin laughed hysterically as he realized he actually managed to hit the monster that was once human.
