Kimya'Mwimbaji
Uhuru
Uhuru
Her ears were slightly flat, as she moved out of the cave they stayed in, since she and Nuru had arrived in the Mwako'bi'Giza. Currently without her Brother, the tiny singer was shy, her paws moving in their usual dancing steps over the turf, crimson eyes darting about for her adoptive parents. The cub had decided she'd had been silent around them long enough, and was about time for her to at least sing to one of them....explain herself.
Uhuru was heading back towards the den from the training area, to check on the cubs. Though he trusted the Mlisha who would check on them...he worried. A lot. They were his cubs now, and they'd been through such loss in their short lives already. When he scented the little girl of the two outside the den...he picked his pace up, worried. And was relieved when he approached her and saw she was fine. Unharmed and simply out and about. Which made him happy. The two cubs had barely been outside of the den since the beginning. "Kimya...is everything okay?" He didn't expect a verbal answer...but he was used to her silent responses to things.
She looked up at him with her large crimson eyes, and a smile crossed her maw. sitting down on her haunches, she sung to him, "All Fine. Must tell.....all sings." The cub knew her wording was hard to understand at times, and others found it confusing, but she figured Uhuru would understand. Reaching her nose up, she gently nudged his, in an affectionate cub gesture.
He was surprised to hear her voice. But Uhuru smiled kindly, and returned the gesture with an affectionate lick on the top of the cub's head. "Singing's fine, if talking doesn't suite." He sang back to her, delighted she'd chosen some way to speak. He and Mabaka had been worried.
"Not after..." The trill was sad, lower as she thought of the incident with her mother, and her ears lowered again as well. "Haven't liked it since~" The cub was only sad but a moment though, as a bird flew over head, and she glanced up, delight in her eyes. Kimya loved birds! "Know where I'm going though~"
He nodded in understanding. "It's fine, if you prefer not to talk. You've a pretty voice for singing, though. It suits you well." He watched the bird as it flew over, and smiled when her saw it brighten Kimya's mood. "Well than! Shall we follow it? Perhaps we can catch it singing."
Her tail flicked and she looked eagerly up at her new father, "Yes, father~" She jumped to her feet, giggling, "Want to be a purifier~" She said, as she trotted forwards, knowing the male would follow her, or even begin to lead after a moment.
Uhuru followed his adopted daughter, keeping his pace slow so he didn't outpace her. "A Purifier, hm? A very important job, it is. And a noble one. You're brave and kind for wanting to be one after what you have seen, Kimya." It was a relief to know that her kind heart outshone the tragedy she'd seen.
She nodded, and smiled at him, "Demons....want to help after what was seen~" Her ears flicked back slightly, and she kept herself close to Uhuru, liking the feeling of closeness. This new father....she was fond of him.....So fond.
Uhuru nodded. "Yes. Not all demons are evil. Only some. Others can be very kind and gentle, and some still strive to protect those weaker than them." Demons were a many-hued lot, like non-demons. It was through the influence of the Aikanaro or dark lives that they became twisted and evil...like Moricorm.
She nodded eagerly, her tail flicking as she looked up to the sky. Whimpering slightly, she looked over to Uhuru, "Where~" She couldn't spot the bird any more, and her heart fell a bit,
Uhuru frowned, sniffing about. The bird couldn't have gone too far...ah-ha! He smiled down at her and pointed to one of the few trees that dotted their home. "Looks like it decided to go back to its nest. Perhaps it has little chicks to feed, or eggs to warm."
Kimya purred at that, watching it with soft eyes. She moved over to press her flank against Uhuru's leg, "Family~" Looking up at him with those wide eyes, the blue-spotted cub cooed, "Like us~"
The leopon male nodded, bending his head down to nuzzle the cub. "Yes. Like us." He purred at her. "Family is very important...be it family of blood, or family of spirit. You and I, and your new mother, and your brother...we are all a family bound by spirit, rather than blood. And the entire pride is a little like that too. We look after one another, in the good times and the bad."
She nodded, "Nuru's Brother~ Protecting him, like he does me~" Kimya cooed, "Will forever protect family, and help Demons find Spirit Family~" She pressed her nose to his flank, purring low in his chest.
"That is a very good thing, Kimya." Uhuru decided, then and there, that he and Mabaka had made the right decision after all. Their little daughter was a kind girl, and their son was full of love for his family...even though he'd lost his first mother. They would be fine, Uhuru was certain of it. He would make certain of it. "I love you very much, Kimya, my daughter."
"Love you too, Father~" She cooed, licking his flank. The bird started to sing at that moment, and she looked up, an eager expression on her face. She took this as a good sign, and leaned further into Uhuru's side, "Father~"
