--No Picture Yet---
Amegakure is situated in an unnamed country. The country's borders are highly defended, and those wishing to pass through it are subject to constant surveillance for the duration of their stay. As it is situated between three of the Five Great Shinobi Nations, it serves as a battlefield for their wars, and most of the population consists of war refugees.

Isuko knew that as a Gennin, he would be required to adopt additional responsibility. He knew that he’d need to train himself, to become stronger, to bear the added responsibility. ‘Especially with my disability. I’m an advanced Taijutsu fighter, and I can successfully fight one or two opponents, but I don’t think I can work with a team in my current state. I need to find or create a new style. Something that I can use in close combat, but that allows me to be mobile enough to avoid friendly fire since most shinobi have a repertoire of ninjutsu to throw around.’ Isuko finished his thought and jumped to the nearest rooftop and headed towards the Village’s training fields.

Upon his arrival, Isuko set up the training logs and dummies into various formations for him to practice on. Before he began beating the pieces of wood senseless, Isuko sat in the center of the formations and began contemplating style he was going to form. He needed something with sharp strikes and quick movements. Several styles of kung fu practices those kind of strikes, but the strikes were designed to be pin-point accurate. Precision and accuracy were luxuries that I want to have, but can’t count on in the heat of battle. Hmm… I think I can base my style on baguazhang, but I’ll need to incorporate other elements to make it effective. With that, Isuko stood and began working forms from baguazhang to refamiliarize himself with the style.

As Shiori walked through the streets of the Rain Village her fathers advice ringed through her head. Remember Shiori-chan! Just because you're no longer in the Academy that doesn't mean you are no longer a student! Keep learning from others. Watch them. Learn from what your comrades do along with your teachers. Dont stop training! NOW GO! SHOW EM WHAT YOU GOT!! Shiori smiled softly as she thought of her father. He was always so cheerful and enthusiastic about everything. She could ever imagine him being serious despite his claims about his missions. She had expected her mother to come with her to the training field but found out that having graduated from the academy her parents would no longer aid her in her training. She would have to rely on whatever team mates she was paired with along with the group leader for her training.

After what was a long walk for Shiori she finally came upon the training field. As she began to enter she froze. Someone else was already there. After moving out of sight she looked down at herself. Her...size. She remembered what the shinobi and the other kunoichi still at the Academy had said about her large physique. Her blue eyes then gazed higher up to the Rain Village headband that she had tied around her neck. She was a real kunoichi now. Granted still a low ranking and fresh Genin but she was still a kunoichi nonetheless and as a kunoichi she needed to be brave and not worry about such things. Her size was one of her strengths after all.

Finally entering the training area the thudding of her feet generated by her weight and the sound of her red clogs gave away her presence. Even if they hadnt given her away someone of her figure was somewhat difficult to spot anyhow. She slowly moved to the farthest end of the training grounds. Back in the area where the test dummies were already well beaten and broken. This time however she wasnt practicing her taijutsu. This time she decided to work on the jutsu she didnt have as much practice with.

Standing at a distance from one of the old target logs she peeked over her small glasses as she tried to take aim at the wooden figure. Shiori took in a deep breath as she built up the chackra and force need to launch her jutsu. Leaning forward she opened her mouth wide and a stream of a boiling hot liquid spewed forth in the direction of the dummy. The attack didnt even make it half way to the dummy. Though it did look like it would have done a little damage had it hit. As the liquid dissolved the ground where it had sit was seared. She tried to imagine what that would have done had it hit someones exposed flesh. Shuddering she shook that thought away. Shiori had never been in a real battle before. Heck she hadnt ever went against someone other than her father. She was so inexperienced.

Taking in a deep breath she attempted the jutsu again. Another failure. It had reached the target this time but had been to little an amount to deal any damage. Trying again and again each one was failure after failure. The shots that had enough of the liquid to deal damage never made it to the target. The shots that made it to the target was to little to deal any real damage.

Remembering the shinobi she had seen as she entered her she remembered her fathers advice yet again. Not only that but it had tugging at her curiosity for a while now anyways. Her blue eyes glanced past her small reading glasses to the shinobi that was a good distance from her. The only other person here actually. He seemed to be practicing some style of taijutsu using it on the unfortunate wooden dummies. As she watched him something dawned on her. The Akimichi utilized a style focused on Sumo based taijutsu. So maybe she could use the stronger short ranged blast of Futton Creation at a closer range in combination with taijutsu.

Returning to her position at a distance from the test dummy she began her new idea. She ran very short distance towards the dummy before throwing herself into her Roll Out technique. "Nikudan Sensha!" she called out as her boulder of a body quickly charged at the target. A habit she picked up from her father. Just before she hit the dummy she managed to bounce over it. Usually the technique would have crushed it under her weight but she need it intact. Landing directly behind it she cancelled the jutsu returning to her normal pudgy form. Turning she threw a punch at the wooden figure. As she did her hand suddenly enlarged which in real combat would make her attacks harder to dodge. This was the Akamichis Partial Expansion jutsu. Something she could utilize with any of her taijutsu attacks. With her punch she had reeled further back than others would have. This helped her to throw her weight into the attack making it more effective for someone of her physique. However the punch didnt connect. She had made sure to not actually hit the target so that the old test dummy wouldnt break before she could execute the rest of her idea.

After a few more similar attacks which included a full body tackle she opened her mouth wide yet again. Quickly after a stream of the boiling hot liquid burst forth. Being at close rage the attack finally connected with the target. The boiling liquid burning away at the targets wooden surface. Singing the spot it had it to a black char. Her father had been right. Despite her graduating still was still a student. She still had so much more to learn from others. Whether those others realized they were helping her or not.

Turning in the direction of the shinobi she had been watching earlier Shiori waited for a moment when he was no longer facing her direction. When he did finally turn in the opposite direction she gave a smile and a rather quick but grateful bow in his direction. Though he probably didnt know it Shiori felt that he had helped her a great deal in realizing how she could use her mothers techniques with her fathers. Something she had originally thought would not have happened. Despite her being grateful she hoped the male ninja had not noticed her. Lest he get curious as to why she bowed towards him and draw closer.

Isuko noticed the other shinobi enter the area. Her scent identified her as female while her footsteps sounded heavy for a woman. Isuko stopped his practice just long enough to pull a long strip of grey cloth from a pocket on his vest and tie it around his sightless eyes. He then resumed practicing. Isuko was getting back into the rhythm of baguazhang, and he began incorporating some quick, short kicks as well as working into some ways to quickly break away from the melee while still covering his retreat. ”Hmm… I’ll need to make sure I keep a supply of shuriken or senbon to cover such escapes. Alternatively, if I can get a grasp on the ice abilities of my family. I know there’s a way to freeze some of the water in the air and create the projectiles I need. I’ll just need to work on it. Until then, I really need an animated partner to help me work through these break aways.” Isuko had been aware of the other shinobi’s expenditure of chakra on the other side of the field. As he finished the thought, the noticed the girl seem to finish what she was working on. Not seeing the other shinobi bow quickly to him and figuring she might be able to help him, Isuko stopped his routine and called over to the girl.

“If you’ve got a moment, could you come assist me with something?” Isuko’s rather raspy voice reached out to the girl. He was standing among the, rather beaten, training dummies and waited for a response.

Hearing the shinobis voice Shiori froze for a moment. She contemplated pretending not to have heard him at first but the thought made her feel bad. Even if he didnt know it he had still helped her. It didnt seem right to not help him with what he wanted of her in return. With thudding steps from her red clog shoes Shiori slowly made her way closer and closer to the other Rain Ninja. Growing more and more nervous every second. Knowing of her discomforts with her weight her father had always trained with her away from the others at the Academy students. But now her father wasnt going to be around to give her comfort. She'd have to actually interact with others. She could only hope he wouldnt say anything about it or have her do anything that would emphasize it.

Finally getting close enough to the shinobi Shiori finally responded to him. "Uhm...yes?" she managed to say totting her head to the side slightly. Despite her nervousness she continued to smile trying not to show it. This was the first time she had interacted with someone outside of her family so she was trying to make sure itd be as pleasant as possible for the both of them.

Isuko turned toward where the other shinobi had stopped and moved so that she could see him more easily. Isuko performed a quick bow as he introduced himself. “My name is Isuko Riwomu, freshly graduated Gennin of Amekakure. I’m mainly a taijutsu fighter and I’m trying to find a fighting style that allows me to work with a team better. Right now I’m working on some techniques to quickly break away from an opponent in the event that a teammate throws some kind of ninjutsu at the same target I’m fighting, but I can’t quite seem to get the timing right. Would you mind a light spar to see if I can manage to work them out against a live opponent?”

”I hope she isn’t too put off by the grey cloth. People are usually more disturbed by the appearance of these useless eyes of mine than they are by the blindfold. I’m trying to be more personable than my usual self. I know I’m usually slow to speak, so I need to make an effort to be less aloof than normal.” Isuko waited patiently for the other shinobi’s response.

"O! Uhm. My name is Shiori Akimichi." She started in response. Not exactly knowing how to properly present herself she thought it best to copy the way he did. "I also just recently graduated from the Academy and I focus on taijutsu as well." Though when Isuko mentioned what it was he wanted of Shiori she grew hesitant. The only person she had done anything like that with was her father and he had actually never fought back. Now she would be taking hits from someone. Not only that but it was so that he could perfect something. If she didnt provide the desired situation she'd feel bad about it. But at the same time she coulnt just not help him. Taking in a deep breath she slowly nervously exhaled before hesitantly responding. "A-alright."

Stepping back slowly she took her stance. Spreading her legs out she bent her knees slight to hold her weight towards the ground. She then brought up open hands exposing her palms as she held them in from of her. The stance was somewhat sumo style and she looked as if she was bracing herself. The stance put the persons weight to use in order to keep them from being forced to move helping to prevent a foe from seizing control of the fight. "Whenever you're ready." she told him nervously letting him know that she herself was prepared. As she waited she noticed he had not yet removed the blindfold. Was that part of his training? Or...

”An Akamichi. That explains the heaviness of her footsteps. She also seems to be really reserved. Either shy or self conscious. Hmm… Well, might as well get started.” Isuko spread his feet to shoulder width, angled toward his left. He brought his hands up, open, and palms outward, one slightly forward of the other, facing her. Settled into his stance, Isuko dashed forward, aiming a couple of strikes at where her ribs should be. He wasn’t fighting all out, he was probing, trying to get a feel for her strength and skill to know how hard to fight. However, Isuko wasn’t arrogant enough to know there weren’t those far better at taijutsu than himself. He was on his guard in the event that Shiori surprised him with something. He also wanted to make sure he was able to keep tabs on where and how she was standing.

Shiori watched Isuko take his stance. Studying him she thought his stance was somewhat similar to her own. Just a little at least. This would be her first bout with anyone other that her father so she desperately wanted to make a good impression. But at the same time she was afraid of an accident on either of their parts. No. She wouldnt use her ninjutsu. She would simply focus on her defensive taijutsu style.

Watching him come at her she did not move nor did she put up any visible guard. Instead she took the hit. However it did not harm her as much as it would have someone else. Her layers of fat were being used to absorb most of the damage from the hit. This was one of the few things Shiroi felt that her size was good for. It gave her her clans fortitude. Now that he was in close to she began an attempt to bring her arms around him trying to pin him up against herself. She had recalled him mentioning practicing to disengage from combat. She figured a move like this would give him an opportunity to practice just that. Though she was not one hundred percent sure on that. It was just a guess.

”Using her fat to absorb the force of the blow. Shy she might be, but she’s clever. She knew I wouldn’t go all out at the beginning, or at least she suspected it. We’re comrades and of equal rank. I wouldn’t have wanted to hurt her. She really is sharp.” Isuko noticed her attempt to pin him against her. She seems like she doesn’t have a lot of confidence, but she knows how to work with people. This is just the kind of attack that I need to be able to break away from to give my teammates an opening. Isuko ducked down under her incoming arms and turned a short flip, using Shiori’s arms as a leverage point to jump backwards. He mimed throwing the shuriken that would follow the break away to keep the opponent from chasing him. He paused upon landing, nodding his head.

“Thanks for the help. I think I got it figured out. Anything I can help you with in return?” Isuko kept his taijutsu stance, preparing if she wanted to continue sparring. If she stood up out of her taijutsu stance, Isuko would also relax and listen to her speak.

Shiori was surprised as she looked down at her empty arms. Using her own body against her to get away. Such a thing took some agility to pull of. Something she would never be able to do. Not with her size. Looking up to him she only smiled softly at his question. "No uhm thats ok. Youve already helped me." she said to him quietly. Though she doubted he knew what she meant. Just by having watched him practice his technique she had remembered that one could combine ninjutsu admits taijutsu attacks. Thought the concept seemed so simple she had just simply not thought of the idea. Her main clan focused on taijutsu only so she had never been taught on how to mix them together.

"But...if theres anything else I could help with. I uhm would be happy to help." she said as she moved out of her combat stance. Though she had finished with what he had originally asked of her she didnt want to just walk away yet.

Isuko found himself confused at what Shiori had said last. [i[“I’ve already helped her? I’ve no idea how. Maybe she picked something up by watching me practice? Whatever. Not important. Hmm… I wonder…” Isuko reached up and scratched the back of his head in a clearly embarrassed manner. “ Since we’re both new Gennin, chances are good that we’ll end up working together again before too long. I do kinda have an odd request, and I can never get over how weird this sounds to ask someone. I don’t know if you noticed or have seen me before, but I’m blind. That being said, would you let me feel your face? It’s the closest I can get to seeing what you look like” Isuko could feel the red color creeping into his face, and that just compounded the embarrassment he already felt. ”Dammit. Why can’t I find a better way to ask that of people? I need to work on that.

So...he is blind...and yet hes so good. Amazing... Shiori thought to herself hearing that one of her suspicions had been right. Hes blind. Though she understood why she couldnt help but blushing somewhat at his request. Feeling her face. It made sense but it was still embarrassing. But then again looking at him he seemed just as embarrassed about it. There was an awkward pause of silence as she prepared herself. She couldnt just tell him no. It wouldnt be right. That and he was right about the likelihood of them working together in the future. If she didnt let him now things could only get even more awkward between the two of them in the future. Taking in a deep breath she nodded at him with a smile then remembered that he couldnt see that. So she finally responded. Uhm...Y-yes. Thats fine."

Isuko quickly unwrapped the bandages on his hands so that he could more easily feel the way Shiori’s face was shaped. Isuko carefully walked back towards Shiori, hand outstretched. When he reached her location, Isuko gently ran his hands over Shiori’s face, using the feelings of the contours of her face to construct a mental ‘image’ of the way Shiori looked. [i[“I know this can’t be comfortable for her. She seems really shy. I need to cut this as short as possible.” Isuko nodded his head and stepped back from Shiori, getting the bandages out of his pocket to begin rewrapping as he did so. ”Thank you Shiori. I really appreciate you letting me do that. It’s always an awkward question to ask. Thanks for not making a big deal of it.” Isuko began rewrapping the bandages around his arms. In addition, Isuko reached up and re-tightened the blindfold that had come loose during the sparring exchange.

Shiori held her breath as his hands came up to her face. She squinted her eyes at first as she braced for his touch and even flinched a little. Though he didnt seem to realize it. She had barely even talked with anyone outside of her family let alone this. But she still understood why. It was necessary if they were going to be working together. It was the only way he could tell what she looked like.

As he finished the facial examination Shiori released her held breath. "Its alright. Really." She said in response having finally relaxed herself. Though she was expecting at least a little feedback from him she was half glad he didnt say anything. She was a little afraid to know what he thought of her and her physique.

After a moment or two of silence Shiori finally spoke up. So...uhm. What. What now? She asked Itsuko. She wasnt sure as to what to do now. Would he want to continue the spar they had started? Or something else maybe? It was at that moment that something else broke the silence. A somewhat loud growl filled the air around them. Though it wasnt from any animal. Shioris stomach was going off letting both of them know what it thought should be their next move.

Shioris face turned a bright red in embarrassment. Turning away from Itsuko she quickly but lightly pounded on her stomach as if that would silence it. When the growl finally stopped Shiori froze in place unsure of what to say or do. Instead she simply closed her eyes and ran off. At her speed her weight almost pulled her to the ground but she somehow managed to stay up. To have that happen. For anyone else it would have just be a laugh but for Shiori it was to embarrassing to even stay there.

Soon after she had left the training ground Shiori stopped. She felt bad about just up and running off like that. He must hate her for it. As she contemplated turning back around a higher ranking Rain shinobi dropped down in front of her. "Shirori Akimichi?" he asked making sure he had the right person. She gave a slow nod and he instantly responded. "Youve been given your first mission. Theres been a great deal of activity going on in the Frost Village just outside of the Fire Country. Youre to check it out then report back with any information you could gather." And with that the shinobi disappeared. Shiori was now shaking nervously. This was just her first mission and already she was being sent out of the country. Stealing her nerves she continued to run heading for the Fire Country.
