That's awesome! =D Your tuba players might have to start bulking up, though- silver instruments tend to be a little heavier, or at least that was my experience with two different baritones.
My school had an all silver brassline this year- we borrowed all of our horns from the Reading Buccaneers (a DCA corps). It was really nice, and it made us look a lot more uniform, I think. :]

We have a silver tuba. But all our sousas are silver. All the tubas are obsessed with shoulder canons. They want them. I don't know why. It looks like t would be harder to march with.

NO!!!! DON'T DO IT!! I'm being totally serious, I wanted one, but my BD was like, "NO!!" Why: they're heavy, require tons more stamina than sousas, and don't sound as good when playing in concerts The BD in the other HS is right to stick with sousas; they're easy to get used to(as i've gotten used to mine only using it once or twice), they're easier to carry and aren't as likely to get as damaged when you drop one(seeing as it's wraped around you) i advise you(not matter how new or shiny they are) to tell your BD that this is a bad move unless all the tuba players are the hulk, then by all means go for it

(We have two different sets of tubas, even before we borrowed the silver ones- marching tubas and concert tubas.)

Also these tubas are quite nice because the band director that bought them knew how to pick good instruments and we have tubas that can be used in concerts

Our Sousas are all silver-plated (or some silverish alloy), but the tubas are brass.
My friend has a silver-plated King tuba. :]
