Do any of you guys do it? I've always heard that you're not supposed to, but over the weekend one of the girls in my roommate did.
Well actually, she forgot to, so I walked in the bathroom and there was a bloody tampon in the toilet. neutral When I asked why she did that she said that she always flushes tampons and I was like wut. I've always heard that you're never supposed to flush any of that (tampons, pads, wutevz) down the toilet because it's bad for the plumbing.
So do you guys do that? I guess it would be more convenient but I'd be afraid of breaking the toilet.

Old plumbing has tiny pipes. Nothing should go down them but a tiny bit of TP. Newer plumbing is wider. Pads still a major no no but a tampon alone shouldn't do much harm at all. It sure beats the alternative of nasty tampons laying exposed in a trash can or worse...like I see at the store when I clean restrooms on the floor.

Okay so that's not so bad then. I was always told never to do that, I guess because both houses I've lived in were a little older. But okay, I guess she's not as crazy as I thought!

i use OB, which has no applicator. it comes in a thin plastic wrapping and you insert it yourself. it's all flushable. i'd suggest using that.

I always flush the tampon. The applicator, on other hand, I only flush when it's those mega toilets in public restrooms. At home, I put it back in the wrapper and toss it.

I've heard it's okay but it depends on the plumbing. Too afraid to do it in my house, the plumbing isn't very reliable anyway.

Anyway, I do this occasionally (flush them, not leaving them lying around), although I prefer to throw them in the trash because I feel like it's safer. Nothing terrible has happened yet.
