This -sucked-.

He couldn't deny the rush of relief he felt after leaving the Hillworth campus for good. He was done with that place and done with it's shitty classes and done being judged by the teachers.

But he already missed Zee, and there was no going back to being his roommate. Not til Zee graduated from school himself and maybe got a place that Demy could beg his way into. And that was all if the shorter boy didn't hate his guts for up and leaving like that.

The blonde choked back another sob at that thought.

He had made his way to Heather's house, quickly juggling the stuff in his arms to ring the doorbell. There was no loud exclamation it was him, no teleporting inside, none of his usual antics.

Just a teary eyed blonde on her doorstep, holding a fishtank (with two smaller ones on top, recognizable from the Halloween fair) and a backpack on his back.

Heather was actually, for once, sitting around and not really doing anything at all. Channel surfing her television. There... wasn't a whole lot on it seemed. She could never be bothered with the news, today's kids shows were terrible, and it was too early in the day for any of the sitcom's or weekly dramas that she liked.

Ah well.

At least it was quiet. Her house was clean, and she didn't have to do any baking as there were no plans for the day of any sort. This thought wouldn't last long though, as she heard the doorbell ring.

Probably the paper boy, it was about that time of the week. Stretching she called out "Just a minute!" before pulling herself off the couch and slipping to the closet to the wallet from her purse.

When she finally got to the door, Demy could hear her muttering an apology for taking so long. The door slowly opened up and he could see her flipping through the wallet, digging into the change purse.

"$5.65?" she asked, before finally looking up. Her brow furrowed.

"Demy? What the hell are you doing here... and why are you ringing the do-" she stopped and looked down to see that he was holding a fishtank... filled and complete with fish... more fish....

And..

Oh dear.

"... Alright come in."

"Thank you Heather..."
The boy sniffled, quite unlike his usual hyper personality, and slipped past Heather to get inside. Once there he made his way to the nearest table and carefully set the fish down.

Damn they were kinda heavy.

"S-sorry to just come here without asking but I didn't know where else to go. Didn't really have anywhere else to go and..."
He sniffled again, rubbing the sleeves of his shirt against his face.

"I dropped out. Of Hillworth. I was failing and I was going to get held back and I just can't do that so I dropped out but now I have nowhere to go and I miss Zee and I just don't know what to do..."
He was talking so quickly and not really making much sense all while trying to stop the flow of tears from his eyes.

"I see." was all the girl said as she closed the door behind Demy. Her eyes roved to the fish for a moment, and her face scrunched up, but for now she ignored them, making her way over to the closet. She opened it up, placed her wallet back into her purse, then slowly shut the door again.

Looking over at the defeated young man, she couldn't help but feel, just a bit, for him. Turning her head to look down the hall, she sighed, looking back towards the raver child.

"Your stuff can go down there." she raised an arm to shoulder length, pointing to a door at the end of it. "We'll discuss exactly what happened when you're done getting settled. Don't say anything and just do it while I go wrap my head around this. Okay?"

"O-okay..."
The boy sniffled and shuffled down the hall with his bags (he had a second bag hanging down off his backpack, how far had he walked like this?) leaving the fish on the table for a moment. Five glowing (literally glowing) fish looked out at Heather from the bigger of the tanks, while each of the smaller tanks held what looked like a goldfish crossed with a piranha.

Down the hall Demy opened the door to the room. It wasn't too terribly much, a bed (it DID look bigger than the ones at the dorms though), and a closet and some paintings. Really though, it seemed like a lot! It was a room all for him, with no duct tape lines or strict rules about decorating (..so he thought), or anything like that. And it was painted blue.

He still missed his roommate though. He really, really really missed Zee.

Without a peep Demy shuffled around the room, setting his stuff down and digging through what he had brought. The only things he had brought were what he could pack in two bags, everything else gone. One, thankfully, contained clothes. Some at least. The other contained his games and the ever important Guitar Hero.

...He was going to have to go shopping.

Heather watched as the boy slowly meandered his way down into the guest bedroom. A small frown formed on her face and she shook her head. There was going to have to be a long talk about this. Not now though, the kid looked like his dog had just been ran over or something

Heading into the kitchen, she dragged her blender out from under the counter. She popped it's top then placed it aside, making er way to the freezer half of her fridge. Inside it she yanked out a bag of mixed berries. Placing it behind her on the counter next to the blender, she followed it with a tray of ice cubes. Closing the freezer part, she opened the actual fridge portion, and yanked out some yogourt and orange juice.

She took a few minutes and blended all the ingredients together. Mixed berry smoothies were love. Plus, he looked like he'd need a drink.

Cleaning up the mess she poured the drink into two glasses and walked down to see her new inhabitant.

"Here." she offered hm the glass, staring at the fish. They kind of creeped her out, but whatever.

Demy hadn't made much progress in settling in. The vast majority of his stuff was still in the bags. Actually all of it was minus a curious stuffed gerbil that was now wrapped up in the boys arms. Rather than unpack, he had simply pulled out the comforting plush and taken a seat on the bed.

When Heather came in, green eyes lifted to look at her, and a hand moved to take the drink.
"Thanks."
Really the reactions seemed automated, with no real sense of the hyperactivity that was so very him.

Hell he was so quiet.

It was a moment or two before he finally raised the glass and took a sip.
"So...it's okay? If I stay here?..."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 8:28 pm

"Well, if your options are here, or the street, I guess I'm stuck with you."she offerred Demy half a smile before walking over to sit on the bed.

"Now you mind telling me exactly what's up before I beat it out of you?

The blonde heaved a sigh, bracing himself to tell the story.

"Okay so....ever since I woke back up, I haven't been doing good in school. Not that I was spectacular before but I just...yeah. Doing bad, and I tried to fix it and Zee tried to help me he really did I just..."
The boy whined, fidgeting a bit.
"I guess I just...don't care about Hillworth any more, or my grades, or anything. What gives some teacher a right to fail me? I'm not a bad student! Or a bad kid! It's all so stupid, I didn't want to be labeled like that. So I left, dropped out."

He paused to sip at his drink and give Oreo a squeeze.
"I...didn't tell Zee though. He knew I had been thinking about it and was helping me so I wouldn't, but I didn't -tell him- I did it. I just...I left, while he wasn't there. He's probably returning to the empty room right now and it all feels so horrible. He probably hates me, I don't want him to hate me!"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 9:00 pm

"Well, I'm sure Zee will likely be somewhat pissed, yeah. Though he will likely get over it in time, so don't get hung up over it." She hoped that, anyways. She really didn't know how someone would take something like that.

"So you just don't like Hillworth? Do you want to go to Meadowview instead? We can always work on getting you into a different school you know. You shouldn't drop out completely. I know you aren't stupid, but maybe a different setting would be better for you for awhile." she offered, trying to think of a solution.

Though it was partly to keep the boy from moping around her house 24/7. He needed to go out and socialize, be with other people, and continue with his learning. At least, in her mind.

"Hillworth is a prison, I don't belong there! Neither does Zee, but he won't drop out like I did... And no! Just...n-no school right now, at least not like that, I can't handle the grades. I c-can't handle...I just can't."
Really he couldn't handle being judged. Being labeled a failure over something he didn't really understand why he should be worried about. It bugged him, so he just..ran away.

"I wasn't going to stop studying though....I was going to study from home. See if Zee would still help me like we were going to do. He made me awesome flashcards and they help a lot!"

Damn. There went that idea. The older sibling sighed and fluffed her brother's hair. She begrudgingly nodded her head.

"Fine. No school. For now. But I will be after you again next semester. You understand?" she used her other hand to rub her own temple.

"Anyways, studying from home could work. You could do some correspondence courses. I mean, you can stay here, but you have to do something while you are here. So yeah, studying will cover that. We can look into the correspondence stuff early next week." she shrugged.

"So, I guess, until then you've got free reign, so enjoy it while it lasts." she offered him a full smile this time.

"Cuz next week is gonna be busy for you."

"I'll fight you then too, be prepared!"
If Demy had a hand free he'd be bapping at Heather's hand that was in his hair. Unfortunately he didn't, so he just had to deal with it.

"Correwhatnow?"
...Oh dear.
"As...long as this doesn't involve sending me away somewhere. Please don't send me away somewhere Heather. Please? I'll be good and do my studies, and help around the place and still work on team stuff and everything! Just..don't send me away."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 9:29 pm

"If I was going to send you away somewhere, I would have told you by now." she wave a hand at him, laughing as she could almost see the 'augh' on his face from the hair fluffing.

"Correspondence. You do your schoolwork from home, you get graded, but it's mostly on your own time for the most part. I mean, they give you deadlines but they are generally slower paced. Give you more time to get into it I guess. No classroom full of idiots to deal with." the grin continued to rest on her face.

"I think you'll do okay with that."

"G-grades?"
He seemed worried again, but he mention of a slower deadline and working from home offset it. A bit.

"No classrooms sounds good...and I won't be able to see a scowling teacher!"
Demy had to perk up at that a bit.

"Oh oh Heather! Did you want me to introduce you to the fish huh huh? They glow in the dark isn't that cool?"
