As the opening riffs of Metallica's Don't Tread On Me begin to play, the lights in the arena switch to an alternating green and brown hue. A billowing American flag appears on the titantron with the words "Major Devastation" appearing in the foreground.
He rises slowly from below the stage and lifts a US flag high over his head in his left hand. As the lift stops, Major Devastation salutes the crowd as red, white and blue fountains of sparks spray around him before making his way down the ramp.
DON'T TREAD ON ME! SAY DON'T TREAD ON ME!
LIBERTY OR DEATH WHAT WE SO PROUDLY HAIL ONCE YOU PROVOKE HER, RATTLING OF HER TAIL
NEVER BEGINS IT NEVER, BUT ONCE ENGAGED NEVER SURRENDERS SHOWING THE FANGS OF RAGE
Now making his way to the ring...
SAY DON'T TREAD ON ME!
Weighing in at two-hundred and seventy pounds, from San Antonio, Texas...MAJOR DEVASTATION!
SO BE IT! THREATEN NO MORE TO SECURE PEACE IS TO PREPARE FOR WAR
SO BE IT! SETTLE THE SCORE TOUCH ME AGAIN FOR THE WORDS THAT YOU WILL HEAR EVERMORE...
As he reaches the side of the ring, he hands Old Glory to the ringside attendant and performs a standing leap onto the ring apron before stepping between the top and middle ropes to enter the ring itself. He climbs the turnbuckles and plays to the crowd while waiting for his opponent to make his entrance.

[[Will enter entrance later.]]
The bell rang, and Nuke stepped forward, offering a tie-up.

Major Devastation accepted the tie-up, and would attempt a belly-to-belly suplex.

With fingers interlocked, Devastation moved quickly in for a suplex maneouvre. In quick counter-fashion, Nuke attempted to bring his knee in to guard, hoping to drive it in hard to his opponent's gut, and stop any momentum dead in it's tracks.

Nuke's knee hit home, forcing Major D. to relinquish his over/under hooks and abort the suplex attempt. He backed up, holding his gut, and watched to see what the veteran's next move would be.

Nuke quickly analysed the situation, and stepped forward towards Devastation. He looked to reach forward towards his opponent, before aiming a series of swift kicks to the leg of the rookie.

The big Texan winced as the kicks connected, and man did they sting. While Nuke was still within arms reach, Major would try to grab his opponent's arm and attempt to pull him in for a short-arm clothesline. If successful, he would get back to his feet and give his leg a couple of quick shakes before trying to follow up with a knee drop across the Brit's forehead.

The quick clothesline was effective, and took Nuke down to the mat. But being so early in the match, there wasn't much delay in The Prodigy regaining his composure. As Devastation was shaking his leg, he would attempt to get in to a charging (knelt) position and run at his opponent, attempting to ram him back-first in to the turnbuckle.

Major Devastation made a rookie mistake and took his eyes off of his opponent, and was caught off guard by the attempt to ram him into the corner. It wasn't so much the maneuver itself that surprised him, but the fact that the Prodigy was trying to out-power the bigger man.
Halfway to the turnbuckles, the Master of Disaster would try to dig in his heels and put on the brakes before attempting to deliver a clubbing forearm blow to Nuke's back.

The power of Major Devastation pulled through, as the counter was stopped before he hit the turnbuckle. Nuke was then caught with a clubbing blow to the back, as he stepped back again.

After Nuke backed off following the clubbing forearm shot to his back, the musclebound Marine would offer his opponent a collar and elbow tie-up. If the Prodigy accepted, Major Devastation would attempt to transition into a side headlock.

The veteran was out-maneouvered, as he accepted the lockup, only to be caught in a grapple. Struggling against the hold, he attempted to back up in to the ropes, before using the momentum to Irish Whip his opponent.

Major Devastation was launched across the ring by the Irish Whip and rebounded off the ropes. If he ended up rebounding a second time, the big Texan would attempt a shoulder block.

Although he was able to get a second to breath, Nuke was knocked down by the big man. It seemed as if he had momentum, as the crowd started to cheer on Devastation, who had the upper hand in this match so far.
