It had been over a month since the Halloween Masquerade and just as long since the last time Orion saw Devi. When he walked her home that night she had said he could always find her at her house, but he had gotten so caught up in the Holidays that he didn't have much time to be Orion and what little time he did have was dedicated to patrolling.
That all changed after Thanksgiving when Merope called the Pleiades together to teach them something new and exciting. The senshi of Rogue Waves had gone to space and told them they could all do it too. And not only that but they could take people with them. Of course Orion's mind jumped to Devi, it was the perfect way to make up for those horrible dates. So after he had Merope talk him through it several times he decided he'd wait to go until he could go with Devi, his home would be a surprise for both of them.
Which was how he ended up outside Devi's house, throwing pebbles up at her window. He was careful not to chuck them too hard, he didn't want to cause actual damage after all. After five minutes of throwing pebbles with no response the red head sighed, she must be out. Dropping the couple pebbles he still held he thought about where else she might be in the middle of the night. He remembered her telling him something about the cemetery and how she found it peaceful. He found cemeteries creepy and unnerving, but to each their own.
He didn't have many other options though and so he turned away from her house and started running towards the cemetery. It didn't take him very long to get there and not slowing down he leaped over the gate in a single bound. The senshi landed silently and glancing around he started to walk through the cemetery searching for Devi. "Devi? Are you here? s**t, I hope I don't run into zombies." His voice was barely above a whisper and he was creeping around, silver eyes sweeping the gravestones. He really didn't like cemeteries.

Sailor Orion knew Devi well. He was right, she was at the cemetery. But what he didn't know was how close she was to him in the cemetery. She sat out of his view, blocked by a tombstone that she was resting on. When she heard his cries, she was tempted to respond, but decided to have some fun with it.
She stood up slowly, stretched out her arms straight ahead and staggered towards Sailor Orion.
"Braaaiiiiiins," she groaned in the lowest, most monotone voice she could.

Orion had completely overlooked Devi which later on he would blame on the tombstone she was behind. But nothing excused the fact that he shrieked like a school girl when she came staggering towards him. "OH ********! METEO- Devi?!" It took him a moment to recognize his ex-girlfriend, but luckily he did before he called out his attack. A gloved hand clutched his heart and he shook his head. "You make a pretty convincing zombie, Dev."
Given that their last encounter had ended with a mini-makeout session he thought a hug would be appropiate, and so he stepped forwards grabbing her hand and tugging her into his arms. Holding her against his chest he spoke into her hair. "And if you were wondering I was just playing along." He was referring to the very unmanly scream of course.

Devi burst out laughing as Orion screamed. Wasn't he supposed to be some brave hero? She nearly toppled over, tearing up in laughter, but instead fell into Orion's embrace. "Uh-huh, just playing along, sure," Devi joked, adding teasingly, "p***y."
She couldn't help but let the hug with Orion linger. She had missed him in the past month. She had become very active in her Senshi duties, and the new responsibilities with the Blood Moon Court. That is, her secret responsibilities. She had hoped to see Orion one night as Requiem, but had no such luck. For a moment, she thought about just revealing herself to him, showing that she too is a Senshi, but felt some things were best kept a secret.
"What brings you here tonight?" she asked, still not stepping out of the hug. "I've missed you."

Orion made a face when she started laughing at him, but it didn't last long. He didn't take himself very seriously and he knew that his reaction was a little ridiculous. When she called him a p***y he was tempted to make a you are what you eat joke, but didn't want to risk getting slapped like he had the last time he had made that joke to a girl.
When she didn't immediately step out of his arms he let out a contented sigh, relaxing. It was nice, just being able to hold her. He hadn't realized how much he had missed her until that moment. The eighteen year old rested his cheek against the top of Devi's head, letting his eyes close.
Her words brought him back to the present and looking down at her he smiled. "You, actually." Leaning down he kissed the top of her head. "And I've missed you too, sorry I haven't been around much. Patrolling has eaten up most my time, the bad guys are getting smarter and it's a pain in the a**." He sighed and then realized he was kind of ruining the moment. "But, that's not what I wanted to talk to you about." A little reluctantly he stepped back so that he could hold her at arm's length and look into her eyes. "How would you like to go to space with me?"

Devi let a very unladylike snort at Orion's suggestion. Go to space with him? Sure, like that was a plausible thing to do overnight. She had to resist laughing, or worse - snorting again. "I don't think NASA lets just anyone go to space," she teased. Maybe he was asking a hypothetical question, but she wasn't sure why that question would be asked.
"I'm not sure what you're getting at here," she said, as if it were a question. The more she thought about it, the more confused she got. "What do you mean?"

The redhead couldn't help but chuckle when she snorted. That wasn't a reaction he expected. "Well, luckily we're bypassing NASA." His hands slid from her shoulders to cup her neck, thumbs stroking her skin lightly.
"Exactly what I said, do you want to go to outer space with me? Specifically my constellation, the way I hear it I even have a castle." Leaning down he pecked her on the lips. "Just trust me, all we need is a safe spot where we won't get interrupted and I can show you." He supposed he could do it in the cemetery, but it was a little too open for him to feel totally secure. "You wouldn't happen to know a place like that around here?"

"Uh, other than the cemetery in the middle of the night," she said, feeling this was certainly safe enough. "We could go to my family's funeral home? Its right over there. Its locked, but I have a key."
She pulled her keyring out of her back pocket. She felt her henshin pen nearly slip out, but she managed to tuck it back in before Orion could see it. She jingled the keys with a little bit of a smile. She wasn't sure where he was going with this - taking her to space where nobody could reach them - but she felt it was safe. Besides, if anything went wrong, she could change to Requiem and kick his a**.
She held his hand and gave it a light tug as she took a step towards the funeral home. "Just as a heads up, I'm halfway through taxiderming a bird in there, so you might see a half-deskinned bird in the back room."
Way to kill the moment, Dev.

Funeral home? That wasn't creepy at all. "That works, I don't want the bad guys sneaking up on us." He watched as she pulled out her keys, not noticing the almost slip up at all. He didn't really think of the implications of his words, going somewhere isolated in the middle of the night usually meant bad horrible things. At least he didn't say he didn't make any kind of reference to his belt, he didn't need her to start thinking he was going to sexually harass her.
He followed after her wrinkling his nose at her comment. half-deskinned bird? That didn't sound pleasant at all, but he played it off. "Hey, as long as it doesn't come to life and try to rip my face off I'm good." He grinned glancing down at her. "So, do you taxidermy things often?" He didn't even know if he was using the proper terminology, but he was kind of curious about the whole taxidermy thing.

"Depends on what you consider often. Most people never do it at all, so in comparison, yeah, its pretty often," she teased. "Its still a new service to the funeral home, so not too often. Maybe once or twice a month? Its kind of relaxing once you get past the messiness of it." The gore wasn't so bad to her, but the mess was terrible. She didn't mind the sight of blood and guts, but the thought of getting some of it on her squicked her out, even with the gloves.
When they got to the funeral home, she slipped in the keys and quietly opened the door, punching in the security code to hold off the alarms. They didn't want anyone stealing, after all. She locked the door behind her and flicked on the lights. "So, how exactly do you think we're going to get to space? Go ahead, demonstrate." She was still skeptical of his claims, but also greatly intrigued if they were true.

A brief thought ran through Orion's head that made him blanch a little. Did they taxidermy humans? Was that legal? He didn't really want to know and so he didn't ask instead just nodding.
The red head stepped in after Devi, his leather boots barely making a sound. He blinked in the sudden light and then smiled at her. "Just close your eyes and don't say anything and you'll see." Moving towards her he grabbed her hands and closed his eyes, listening. He wasn't exactly sure what he was listening for, but after a moment he could hear the hum. It took him another minute to pick out his specific hum, but when he did it sent a little rush through him. It was the sound of hounds on the hunt, of crashing through the woods after a stag.
Focusing on that sound he dropped one of Devi's hands and summoned his phone. Flipping it open he dialed without opening his eyes and pressed send. Immediately a red blinding light surrounded them and there was the sensation of being nowhere and everywhere at the same time. It only lasted a few seconds before their feet touched down on the ground.
Slowly Orion blinked his eyes open looking around, silver eyes widening in surprise. He actually did it. They were in space, on a giant chunk of rock orbiting Alnilam. The planet was about the size of earth's moon and the ground was tinted red. From where they were standing they could see a dilapidated castle up on a cliff, a crumbling set of rock stairs zig-zagging up to the castle's front gate. They couldn't see from where they were standing but on the other side of the castle crumbling stone houses fanned out from around the castle gate, homes of the now gone citizens of Orion. Around them were many broken tree trunks and a handful of bare trees, their bark a dark black. It was obvious that at one time it was a great forest, but now it was completely dead.
When he looked up he grinned, there were no clouds and it was possible to see hundreds of stars in the sky and two moons, one larger than the other. "Wow..." He looked down at Devi and grinned. "I told you I could take us to space." He was understandably proud of himself, they were in ******** space!

Holy s**t, they were in mother ******** space.
Devi was too shocked to make any real reaction. Her jaw was dropped and seemed incapable of being closed. She squeezed onto Orion's hand even tighter and she fell to her knees. This world was nothing like Earth, so bizarre and strange, yet so familiar. There were still trees - albeit dead - and was that a castle up ahead?
"Orion, this is...amazing," she whispered, too in shock to amplify her voice any further. "I mean, I had my doubts, but you sure shut me up. This place is...what is this place? How did you take us here? I want to know everything." She looked up at him from on her knees, begging with big eyes filled with wonder.

Orion grinned and squeezed her hand back, watching her fall to the ground. "You okay, Dev?" He had wanted to surprise her, not give her a heart attack.
He crouched next to her, one tights covered knee resting against the hard red earth. A gloved hand went to her back, rubbing it in gentle circles, that's what you did when people looked like they were going to faint right? Or maybe that was seasickness. He wasn't really sure, but figured it'd help either way. "This is my home," As he said the words a feeling of rightness settled on him. This was his true home. What did that make Earth? He wasn't sure, but he'd figure that out later.
"I used my phone," Summoning it again he showed it to her, an angry cat staring up at her. "E.T. phone home" He said the words in his best E.T. voice which wasn't all that great and then chuckled. "But, really. I just have to call and it takes me, and whoever I'm touching. It only works for senshi though, so you couldn't come out here on your own."
After a moment of kneeling on the ground next to her he looked up at the castle. "Do you wanna check out my castle?" He smirked as he spoke. Oh yeah, he had a castle.

His home? Something that only Senshi could do? Why didn't she know about this sooner? Dozens of questions raced through her mind. What would Requiem's home planet look like? Did she have a home planet? Did she have a castle? Did it have cake?
She would have to check it out, for sure. But for now, she was more than happy to be on this planet with Orion. "See your castle? Sure! Wait, that isn't some kind of euphemism, is it?" she asked mockingly, wondering if this is the part where he leads her to his bedroom. Though after he took her to mother ******** space she supposed she might not entirely reject that. Other than that this was only their first...
"Is this a date?" she asked, rising up off the ground. She learned from television that the best time for the 'lets define this relationship' talk is at a time when the man can't just run away. Considering they were on a different planet, she figured now was as good a time as any.

"Well, we are on my belt" He smirked unable to resist. His smirk turned into a grin and he pushed himself up. He wasn't actually planning on trying to get her into bed, for one he had a feeling that the furniture in his castle was in just as bad of shape as the actual castle and secondly he would feel pretty bad tricking her into bed when she didn't really know who he was.
His mind was pulled from bedding her to more important things. Looking down at her he smiled, leaning down and planting a lingering kiss on her lips. When he pulled away, he brushed a stray hair out of her face. "Yeah, I'd say it was a date." Grinning he tucked the shorter girl under his arm and headed towards the cliff. "Unless of course you rather it not be a date, then I'm just some guy who took you to space." He chuckled, he had a feeling she wanted it to be a date or else she wouldn't have asked about it.
