So, what's your story to the creation of your awesome account and avatar?
Me? Well, I was a permanent resident renting out a room in Habbo Hotel. It was a virtual community (only, no forums) where you could dress up a boxy avatar with limited items and hang out with people live in various rooms playing games, "dancing," chatting a few more things. Well, one good Habbo friend found this place and told me it was sooooo much better, and when I came over I agreed! I checked out of the Habbo Hotel soon after and became a full-fledged Gaian! Well... actually I'm still homeless, but I crash at Symya's place from time to time. biggrin How about you?

My daughter has been here for several years, and she urged me to join. I actually originally joined a few years ago, but my old computer couldn't handle it and I didn't really see the fun of it. When I got the newer computer (secondhand but better than the old one) I joined again, having forgot my original account info, lol. A few days after I joined I played zomg the first time... and I got hooked.

Indeed. 3nodding
My Join Date reads March 16, 2005; which makes me exactly 1 day younger than the Kiki Kitty Plushie. whee A school friend of mine introduced me to the site, though I didn't spend an awful lot of time here, right at first. Mostly just spent my computer classes hunting Pink Links, but nobody knows what those are, anymore. sweatdrop
Then we found this thread (which later became this thread), which is pretty much what kept me on Gaia the first year or so. Later, I found this thread, which was more-or-less my Gaian home until I shifted focus to z!F (after my most recent return to Gaia).
Yeah, I know you weren't looking for a Gaiography, but it all seemed pertinent... Somehow... sweatdrop
EDIT: Is it bad that, before I became a regular in z!F (over the past 6 months or so), I'd spent nearly 5 years of my Gaian life posting in precisely two threads? gonk

Different...Very. Lol, it's fine, Red. I spend 97% of my time in guilds. 3nodding Do Pink Links have anything to do with Pink giftboxes? EDIT: Also, your question got me thinking of how my avatar has evolved over time. Coincidentally, I recall every avatar I've ever worn (significantly, at least):

Changed a bit since I started, huh? xp
Found this in a post from October 2006 xD Different...Very. (was a space bubble, that I cant find in the list)
TADA!!!

I feel like I've seen the fifth one before. And I also feel like I've heard about those Pink Links... since I came one year after you, I may have been around for the after-buzz about it... or was it still around then?

Different...Very. I feel like I've seen the fifth one before. And I also feel like I've heard about those Pink Links... since I came one year after you, I may have been around for the after-buzz about it... or was it still around then? I wore that one for several years; the first four of those basically carry me through Christmas of my first year, when I finally figured out what I wanted my avatar to be. I didn't change it to its new incarnation until about 6 months ago, when I came back to Gaia and found the Animal Quackers Spring Peeper items. whee In short, yeah; it's very likely you saw it - even if I didn't leave my home, much. sweatdrop
I don't recall when exactly they dropped Pink Links, but they've been gone for quite some time. It's possible that they were still around when you got here, but I don't know for sure... sweatdrop

How did I find Gaia...? I think it was through Mibba that I found Gaia. Mibba is an online writing community (I happen to enjoy writing.) and a friend of mine ranted about Gaia on her profile, so I had to check it out. I became hooked. I've had a few accounts over the last two or so years, always addicted to this wonderful site. Yeah... I'm a sad, sad person. My whole life, mostly my whole life, is online <3

How the Great and Underesteemed Leinad came to be on Gaia:
Having just arrived, fresh at highschool, freshman year, hanging with his friends from middle school. He investigates the library and, lo and behold, the computers were less restricted than the ones of middle school! After a month or so, his friend (Jason, aka Jalx on Gaia) showed him the site. For the entire rest of the '04 year (or so, I don't remember exactly how long) Leinad made fun of his friend, calling it 'gay-a' and other lame things.
Then, in the year of '05 (or so) Leinad made his first account, with help of his friend, and enjoyed the site. Unfortunately there have been various mishaps and accidents that resulted in the loss of two of his first three accounts, although one lives on to this day. (Not this one).
Due to a much more severe lack of internet and computer access at the time, Leinad was not very active for at least three years. His arrival was marked by the KiKi Kitty, although if he joined before or a little after, no one can say.
Those interested can help him search for his first posts on Gaia in the 'Original MPT' in the Chatterbox, where his name could vary from a female Leinad123 (his second account ever), danielmcintyre (his first account, named purrfect werecat, then lost the space for a _, then got banned), or purrfectwerecat (then changed to danielmcintyre, then to Blargle fraster (who is still around today)). And that is the history of Leinad P. Werecat, more or less.

I originally started Gaia in 2005. Three of my guy friends were always online playing slots or in towns, and one day they set me up an account. I was addicted for about 3 months straight. I never cared much about my avatar or gold and played games like crazy. Eventually I accumulated about 500k and gave it to my friend who started me playing. After that I got a little board and quit playing for 2 years. After high school in 2007 I created another account with the user name Meeko Choobie, which is now my mules name. I didn't get into it much until zOMG! came out. I was really into it in the beginning, but then just quit Gaia altogether when I started school. On Dec 1st 2010 my mom passed away while I was moving pretty far away. I was really depressed and didn't want to do anything in the real world. I made another account with Gaia, username, Miko Chubi and started playing zOMG! again. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! whee
I think I should write a book. : ) I can use this for the first chapter. lol
