Nah, Solitary was the saddest episode, I think. Sayid's story makes me cry. We don't even really know if Nadia is dead, or when she died, or how! It makes me sad thinking about it.

I think "The Moth" is the saddest episode. Charlie got so depressed from his brother being an a*****e( stressed he pissed me off), that he started doing drugs. crying And when he started crying it made my eyes tear up!

Um , "Homecoming" will be the saddest episode so far. (35 minutes left for me biggrin ) Somebody will die and I think I know who it is. But it will still be very sad.

"Walkabout" by far... I get emotional everytime Locke wheels around from that desk.

But then again "Homecoming" was sad too, because it was such crap... same with "Whatever the Case May Be". Why do they always have such crappy episodes after the show comes of hiatus?

I think it's because the writers hate us.

I must admit, I'd kind of forgotten about "Walkabout," but now that you've reminded me, it does kind of pull at the heartstrings, yeah. It's one of the saddest...

DM's crying face always tears me up, but I don't think either of these episodes was really sad. I mean, it was HIS choice to take the drugs. It's not like Liam forced his hand. The way Liam treated him was awful, but still.

I must admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Liam, his being an older brother and my being an older sister. It's not easy to be the older sibling. Everybody is all, "Oh, you have to look out for your younger siblings!" But who's looking out for us? I think it's supposed to be the parents or something, but I've noticed that parents who actually SAY, "Look out for your younger siblings," don't do such a good job looking out for the older ones.

And since it's usually said of school and the big wide world? Yeah, not so much being looked out for if you're the older sibling.

You'll notice that in all DM's episodes, the plot is really obvious (esp. his backstory) and the metaphors and parallels are very heavy handed and POINTED OUT TO US WITH BIG ARROWS. I think they think that DM's fans are kind of stupid so they make his eps like LOST for dummies.

"Homecoming" wasn't really that sad though. I think it would have been sadder if they hadn't played the death up like they did. It had all the pieces there to be poignant, but they messed it up by making us think a main character would die. If I hadn't known it from the previews, I might even have been shocked...

Oooh, but I wonder, did Ethan kill Joanna? Because we know that he came from the water...

I know this is going off-topic a bit, but you bring up an interesting point about Liam. I never hated him like most people did, cause as you said, being an older sibling you would see things differently. I'm an older sister and while I have always had to be the one to protect my brother, I've also been the one who isn't as recognized. Everyone thinks that the younger sibling can do no harm, that they are the good child while the older one gets the blame. Maybe Liam pushed Charlie aside in the band because for once HE was the one getting the attention, not Charlie.

Sounds kinda odd, but meh...

Charlie episodes never really do anything for me, I really don't find him to be such an appealing character. He's good for comical relief, but his backstory seems really weak IMO...

"All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" was the saddest epesode for me. crying as soon as I saw Charlie hanging from that tree, I just lost it and burst into tears. Another sad epesode for me, was "Special". It was so sad that Susan woudlnt let micheal even be a part of walts life. Its bad enough that she broke up with him, but she could at least let him have something to do with walt. She didnt even give him all the birthday/holiday cards mike sent over the years! And then when he was hit by the car! sad

You know, just because you cried, that doesn't make it sad. Crying doesn't equal sad.

I do agree that it was sad when Susan manipulated Michael into giving up Walt. If Thomas didn't exist, I'd hate her the most.

"Special" was the saddest episode for me. The father-son bond was just so poignant, and the card he drew in the hospital...beautiful. "Walkabout" is probably my favorite episode, though. Just that one image of him wheeling around...ah, it's like it opens a door to Locke.

Anyway, while I am the youngest child, I can still very much empathize with my older brother. He was the pioneer in our ultra-conservative ( xd ) family, and I don't want to imagine what things would be like if I didn't have him in my life. He did always look out for me when it counted, so I didn't judge Liam for the way he treated Charlie.

My friend was so close to tears... but then he was revived, and she cleared. It definitely was a sad episode. I think a sadder episode is him recovering... because he looks so dead emotionally... not just physically.
