Staring into the warm glow of the Old Amber, Dane tilted it towards the light from the ceiling, examining a fleck of dirt at its core. "So you think this thing might have the DNA of an ancient Pokemon stuck in it?" he asked the scientist across the desk, turning it skeptically in his hands. For the past few days, he'd been helping out at Mt. Moon with the museum scientists. They had made some kind of discovery involving the moon stones and needed him to help find more specimens. However, during their excavations, they had encountered some unscrupulous people. Team Rocket had begun to dig as well, but they obviously had no interest in the moon stones. Although they had managed to capture many of the criminals, none would reveal what their goal was or who was leading the plot.
That piece of Old Amber had been among the things the Team Rocket members had accumulated, although it didn't look like it was from the caverns themselves. "More likely, an enthusiast or archeologist was carrying it with him and was robbed by Team Rocket, who threw the Amber in with the rest of their valuables," the scientist explained, trying to stress how rare such a find was.
"We need you to bring it over to the laboratory at Cinnebar. We don't have the kind of technology here to do anything with that specimen, but if there really is Pokemon DNA trapped within, then they should be able to extract it! They might even be able to revive whatever Pokemon left that sample! So it is imperitive you get there right away. Don't forget like last time."
With a frown, Dane objected, "I didn't forget. I told you I got side tracked by more important business." In truth, he had heard a local rumor about a rare ghost Pokemon and had gone off in search of it. Unfortunately, it had only been a group of Ghastly casting an illusion, and he hadn't gotten anything out of it other than a few thanks from the locals. After that, however, he honestly had forgotten about the sacred relic he was supposed to be transporting from the Pokemon Tower to the museum. It had been some kind of freaky statue Dane had been glad to get off his hands.
After he was allowed to leave, Dane yawned, wondering whether he should fly strait over and get the Amber off his hands, or enjoy his trip and take the scenic route. Deciding he was in no rush at the moment, he hurried over to the Pokecenter, prefering not to stay out in the harsh cold of Pewter Town's winter.
Once inside, he brought his Pokemon up to the counter and handed them over to the Nurse Joy. She was pretty, just like all the others, but that was what always bothered him about the Nurse Joys; they all looked so similar, he wondered if their family had a history of inbreeding. Taking his Pokemon back, he stopped to make a call to the Cinnebar Laboratory to let them know he would be over in the next few days.
As he went to leave, the Pokecenter's loudspeaker crackled and spat, "Weather conditions are worsening considerably. Anyone trying to fly is cautioned to wait until the winds have died down."
Sighing, Dane walked over to a mostly-empty table and sat down across from another trainer. Noticing the Eevee resting comfortably on the man's head, Dane said, "Your Eevee looks really happy. Have you ever considered evolving it?"

My name is: Michele Johnson (Mee-keh-lei) People call me: Mike How many candles: 17 Orientation: Bisexual Position: Smuke This is what I look like: What I like: Cherry hard candy, Pokémon, soft pillows, friendly people What I don’t like: Sleeping in the woods, recklessness, sleeping too much, heights The Pokémon I have with me: Eevee, Ivysaur, Growlithe, Squirtle (now evolved into Wartorle), Jolteon, Abra A little bit about me: Michele might look like he just crawled out of the gutter, and that wouldn’t be entirely false. After escaping a rough family life, he became a Pokémon trainer and found that it was the passion of his life. The companionship helped him get over his past and he lived a lot happier, even out on the road by himself. Mike loves his Pokémon dearly and is just as concerned about them becoming stronger as he is about their wellbeing. Mike has a slight case of insomnia but isn’t usually exhausted. He works hard to make sure people don’t notice and won’t ask questions. His Eevee, nicknamed “Ultima”, always seems to ride on his head. What I’m like: Mike is usually quite collected, though he’s quick to defend himself if offended or embarrassed. He doesn’t like to be coddled but doesn’t like to be alone either. Sometimes he can be overly shy, or overly mean to the people that he likes. He doesn’t mean it, he just doesn’t know how to show his feelings very well, so therefore he might come out wrong. He isn’t very open with his feelings on his own, therefore a bit of coaxing is needed to get him to talk. Mike is easily frustrated and can sometimes act without thinking far enough ahead, and scolds himself for his mistakes later. Where I’m headed: Recently, Mike has been hearing rumors about the prophecy of an ancient city and has decided to go and check it out. He's ended up in Pewter City, hoping to get stocked up for the trip.

The book was confusing. The legend behind this ancient city was all mumbo jumbo and Michele didn't understand a word of it. He leaned back in his chair, throwing his feet up on the table, trying to read more and make sense of it. His Eevee, Ultima, tottered on the top of his head but didn't fall off. She'd been there far too long to fall off.
Michele had been doing a lot of here and there travelling, but upon hearing this neat legend, he'd decided to take a break from the normal trainer gym-to-gym adventure and just make a beeline for the ocean. Maybe there was something worthwhile there. Maybe he would finally find something that he could take home and rub into his parents' faces. The very idea made him smirk in delight.
He was absorbed in a difficult paragraph when someone came and sat down at the table, promptly making him drop his feet back to the floor. He looked up as the person asked about Ultima. Michele hesitated, not preferring to talk to strangers, but answered anyways,
"No. Ultima doesn't need to be evolved. She's perfect the way she is,"
Actually, for the past few months, Ultima had been wearing an Everstone to keep her from evolving. Michele had had her for so long, he couldn't imagine evolving her yet. For some reason, the idea turned him off completely. He wanted it to be her choice, really....so, what would she become in the end? He didn't know. Maybe in a while he'd present her with the different stones and let her choose. The Everstone couldn't stay there forever.
Michele tilted his head at the stranger, dark eyes contemplating, "Why do you ask?"

Smiling as the guy answered him honestly, Dane couldn't help but take to him almost instantly. "It sounds like you really care about her. Some trainers just evolve their Pokemon to make them stronger, but it's nice to see some people still care about their Pokemon's wants and needs."
When the man questioned him in return, Dane explained, "Eevees are pretty rare, especially because people seem to evolve them pretty soon after getting them. I've seen a few of the Eeveelutions in my travels, but it's not often I see an Eevee specifically."
"Ah, I didn't introduce myself. I'm Dane Fushigi. I'm traveling around the world searching for rarities. And I do a little side work for the museum here," he added with slight annoyance, preferring to work on his own terms. "I'm supposed to be delivering something to Cinnebar, but the weather right now is dangerous for flying types, so I'm waiting it out."
Noticing the book the young man had been reading before he'd approached, Dane craned his neck a little bit to see it better. "Hey, that looks like something interesting. Reading about some ancient treasures yourself?" he asked, wondering if he had met a fellow explorer. "You know, I heard this weird story from one of the guys at the museum. Apparently there's a bunch of valuable stones from some ancient culture hidden throughout the continent. That's what I'm looking into on my own time right now, but I've been caught up helping the museum researchers a lot with Mt. Moon and the moon stones recently."
Just as he was about to ask the trainer more, another announcement came over the loud speaker. The blizzard outside had intensified, and all travel was being shut down, including the roads into and out of Pewter. Anyone in the Pokecenter was encouraged to remain there until further notice.
Groaning, Dane shook his head. "I was supposed to get this job over with quickly. At this rate I won't be able to get anything done..." Rustling through his bag, he checked to make sure the old amber was still wrapped up in the handkerchief before saying, "Sorry, I need to make a call."
Leaving the table, he once again dialed the Cinnebar lab and explained the recent development. With their blessings, he had a few days grace period in light of the weather, but it still annoyed him that he was grounded for a while.
Returning to the table, he smiling apologetically and said, "I'm sorry, it was business. Like I said, I've been running errands for the museum. Speaking of which, have you visited Mt. Moon? There's been some trouble over there with a gang calling themselves Team Rocket, and a lot of trainers have been getting attacked on their way to Cerulean City.
"If you're headed that way any time soon, you should keep an eye out. They seem to go after weak trainers or ones with rare or strong Pokemon. Your Eevee would definitely make you a target," he warned, hoping that he wasn't making things too serious.

Michele waited patiently while the boy, Dane, babbled. He didn't mean to be rude of course (it wasn't like him to interrupt when being spoken to) but he felt a little assaulted with all the information. At least he was a friendly guy. That was all he could ever ask for...he'd met too many hostile trainers on the road. The announcements annoyed him. How long would he be stuck in this Pokemon Center, in that case? Was it possible that he would have to wait until the snow plows arrived? If that was the case, he would just ask any Trainer here with a fire type to help him blast away the snow and clear a path. That would be astonishingly easier. At the warning about Team Rocket, Michele gave a small shake of his head, "Luckily for me, my path of travel doesn't take me towards the mountains at all. I'm actually heading down towards Cinnabar too. I need to get close to the ocean," Ultima mewled, reminding him, as she tended to do, "Oh, yeah....my name is Michele...but, you can call me Mike...."
Michele was quiet for a while, tapping his fingers on the hard cover of the book in his hands. After a moment he put it on the table between them and turned it so that it was right side up for Dane, "....I'm no treasure hunter, but I have been looking for a worthwhile adventure. I'm tired of going from gym to gym, so I'm taking a break. I doubt it wouldn't be beneficial to both me and my team," He was interrupted by his Eevee's delighted squeal. He half smiled fondly and gave Dane an apologetic look. She could get a little loud somtimes. He pointed out the passage in the book he'd been reading all this time, "This book is really difficult to read. I've been working for the past hour translating just this paragraph into plain english. It's an interesting story...so I figured that I might go ahead and check it out. I don't have much better to do, after all," Michele pointed out a few key pictures to bring them to Dane's attention. Maybe this trainer could help him quiz out some things. After all, two heads were better than one, judging legends and such. If Dane was a treasure hunter, maybe he would have some good advice.
"This is what the book says, in a nutshell. Apparently, there used to be this ancient city that was so large it was an island in itself. It used to be a few miles off the coast of Cinnabar, but hundreds of years ago, it suffered a cataclysmic event and sank into the ocean, never to be seen again. According to this, it hasn't even been excavated," The raven haired boy glanced up, judging Dane's expression, and continued, "....what this says, is that the city was built out of a material called Song-Stone, which had a magical quality that allowed the people and Pokemon that lived in the city to live in perfect harmony. Over time, a few special city-dwellers were chosen to become Guardians of the city. They were granted with even more power--such a deep connection with their Pokemon that they were almost one in the same. However, people from the mainland grew jealous and attacked the city. It got so bad that even some of the Guardians turned on the people they had sworn to protect. So...one day, the lead Guardian sealed all the powers away and sacrificed her life to sink the city to the bottom of the ocean, to protect it by hoping the the world would forget," He paused again, not wanting to overload the other boy with information, "....the legend says that the Guardian sealed away the powers into seventeen orbs. One for every type of Pokemon, one for every type of power. She scattered them across the region. Anyone who goes on the journey to find them, all of them, and bring them back to the site where the city once was...." Michele stopped abruptly, and it was obvious why. The bottom of the page has damaged beyond repair, and so the reward section of the legend had been lost, "....that's all I know. I don't know who tore up this book, but it looks like it was done on purpose...so maybe someone didn't want anyone to know what you get for going on this dangerous quest," He shrugged, reaching down beside him to dig into his pack. He pulled out a bag of potato chips and popped it open. After giving one to Ultima (who happily snapped it up) he had one himself and put the bag on the table at an angle...and invitation to Dane to have some if he desired, "Still, I was going to go and check it out. Even if I find nothing, it would be worth a try. I'll take a vacation on the beach or something, if it doesn't work out," he gives a weak smile at his pathetic crack at humor, "I'm not a treasure hunter but....hey. Maybe there's something valuable in it. You never know until you try,"
Michele looked up at Dane questioningly, half expecting to be laughed at, "....what do you think?"
(I wrote this, and then Gaia backspaced and I had to start over. It was much better the first time-! I'm sorry it's really long-!)

"Nice to meet you Mike," Dane said with a nod and a smile, glad to have earned a bit of trust. When Mike turned the book around for him to see, Dane eagerly glanced over the pages, trying to see if he could read any of it. While he was a master at navigating the wild as well as temples and other ancient buildings, he had never really bothered to study different languages, so he had no idea where the book even came from.
"That sounds an aweful lot like the myth I've been following," he muttered, looking closely at each of the pictures as Mike pointed them out. Certainly there were many similarities between the stories they had heard. Perhaps they would be able to be of some use to one another.
"Sometimes it's good to break away from your normal routine and just experiment a bit. There's no better road to discovery," he chirpped as he flipped through the pages of the ancient text, eyeing the arcane designs hungrily and wondering just where in the world their treasure might be buried.
"The myth itself sounds like a lot of other myths from a lot of other cultures, so it's hard to say whether or not this whole thing might be a wild goose chase, but...you said you were heading to Cinnebar. Is that because the myth talks about the city being sunk?"
Smirkng and leaning back in his chair, Dane pointed out, "While it might be tempting to go straight for the goal, wouldn't it make more sense to go and find the type orbs first? According to the myth you can't do anything without them, so if you're interested in this kind of stuff, I suggest first finding the orbs."
Thinking about the seventeen different types, Dane mused, "Since there are two types that don't appear here in Kanto, I wonder if those two orbs are over in Johto instead?" Looking back at the book once more, Dane continued, "I think your best bet would be to try and search in places that correspond to each of the type orbs you're looking for. For example, there are more ice type Pokemon found in the Seafoam Islands than anywhere else in Kanto. So, if you were looking for the ice type orb, I would suggest starting there." As they sat and talked, Dane began to become more and more excited about the prospect of finding such a magificent treasure.
Finally, unable to contain his excitement much longer, he said, "Hey, I know we've only been chatting for a few minutes, but I think the two of us should team up. You seem to know more about the myth and you can read that book, while I'm more experienced as an explorer and I know what kinds of tricks and traps there might be along the way. If the two of us teamed up for this, we might just be able to solve this mystery together.
"I know the book doesn't say what the reward is, but it's gotta be something great. I mean, at the least we get some kind of cool power or divine gift, and at the most we might actually be able to return that island to the world. What do you say?" he asked, holding out a hand and hoping for a shake.

Michele, again, was overwhelmed. He was quiet for a while, sitting far back in his seat to put comfortable space between him and the other trainer. For a moment he was at a complete loss about what to say. He reached foward and pulled his book back towards him. Well, of course you would have to find the orbs. That's the whole point of the legend. Really, the raven haired male didn't have the guts to say that he was heading to Cinnabar first because he was hoping that some locals (perhaps the people old enough to be his great-grandparents) would be happy with telling complete strangers about a story that was possibly passed down through the generations. Maybe the stories passed down through word-of-mouth would have different clues and directions than something written down in a book. Sometimes the people knew more than the scientists, in ways. Michele picked at the spine of the book--the leather wrapping it was fraying at the edges. He tucked it away after a moment to keep himself from damaging the already battered book. Dane had a point about the orbs, but the thought of having to go to Johto was mindblowing. He would be going mostly by foot...and that was a long way to walk. He had to admit that putting space between himself and his hometown (Cerulean, if you must know) was a pleasing idea, and the thought of seeing somewhere new and exciting was tasteful upon his brain. He, indeed, liked the idea.
More appealing than that was the thought of not going alone.
Michele almost flinched back when Dane thrust his hand forward, obviously looking to shake on the deal, but the smaller male couldn't make himself take it right away. He swallowed hard. Dane was right though. With his travelling experiance, and Michele's language dechipering ability, they would definately make an adequte team. Not wanting to hesitate so long that Dane would get the wrong idea, he reached forward and took his hand. It was bigger than his and considerably warmer. He nodded a little, and Ultima clung on tighter with her Pokemon giggles, ".....alright. I guess that wouldn't be a bad idea," he tried to smile at his new companion. He didn't know if he succeeded but it was the thought that counted, right? "We should get to know each other a little better....and when the blizzard dies down, we could head out......w-we'll need to buy supplies and such,"
Michele rarely kept very much with him. In his pack was a collection of meal items, a sleeping bag, Pokemon food, a sturdy length of rope, a few status healers (antidotes and such), and a couple PokeBalls, just in case. If they were going to travel across the entire region...or two regions...then they would definately need more than that...even if Dane carried more.
Michele took a deep breath to build his courage, ready to try and voice his opinion. Why shouldn't he? If they were going to be a team, Dane should value his opinion, right-?
"....thanks, for not thinking I'm....ridiculous for wanting to persue this...." he muttered lowly, "....plenty of people have laughed in my face. Anyways....I was hoping to go to Cinnabar first because maybe some people living there have more information about the legend....they might even be able to give us a good, sturdy lead," Michele shrugged a little, "That was my thought on it," Ultima seemed to agree with her Trainer, "Vee!" The raven haired boy quieted her, ".....I just....don't like to rush into things, you know-?"
He hated it. He could be reckless sometimes, and he always regretted it. This time he wasn't going to do that. This time he was going to be fully prepared.

As Mike hesitated, Dane almost withdrew his hand, thinking that perhaps he had gone a little too fast in suggesting a partnership, but was relieved when he finally got a good shake. When the guy mentioned getting to know each other better, Dane had to force himself not to laugh. He knew what Mike meant, but he had certainly picked one hell of a way to say it.
"Yeah, that's probably good...the better we know each other, the better prepared we'll be while we're out on the road. I guess we can take some time to just chat, until the weather lets down. I sure hope it doesn't take too long so we can head out quickly."
Glancing out one of the front windows at the raging snowstorm, Dane doubted they would be getting out of there before the night was through, especially with Nurse Joy rushing around worrying about everyone's health. Even if she was only a Pokemon nurse, she seemed to watch after all the people in the Pokecenter just as much.
Thinking about what supplies he had with him, Dane had to agree. "Yeah, I don't have too much on me right now other than the basics...I was planning on stocking up at the Pokemart here, but I guess I'll have to wait until the weather's cleared to do that too. Be right back," he said, getting up and walking over to a vending machine. Returning with a can of lemonade, he sat back down to think, sipping his drink and staring at the table in turns.
What Mike said was true. Cinnebar was a small island with a tightly knit population. It was certainly possible that there were local tales related to the myth they were following. Although he hated having to rely on nothing but urban myths, Dane figured he would humor his new partner. After all, he had to deliver that old amber, so he could kill two birds in one trip
"Do you have a surfing Pokemon?" he asked, knowing that boats between the mainland and the island were infrequent and expensive. His Gyarados could easily take them both across, but if Mike had something of his own to ride on, that would be even better.
Leaning back comfortably in his chair, Dane shook his head. "It's nothing. As an adventurer I've gotten used to people thinking I'm crazy. They've told me it's impossible, or that what I'm searching for doesn't even exist sometimes, but I always prove them wrong. After all, the only reason people haven't already found all the great treasures in the world is because so many of them think like that. They just accept what they've always been told and never think to just look anyway."
Taking another sip of his lemonade, Dane sighed deeply when another announcement over the intercom warned everyone inside that the Pokecenter would be closing for the night and that no one was allowed to leave on account of the weather conditions. "Well, I guess we're stuck here at least until morning," Dane said, checking his watch briefly. "So, what do you think we should talk about to get acquainted?"

Michele was quiet for a moment, mostly because he was unhappy about being stuck here for the night....but it wasn't like he had anything better to do, so....there was no reason to be upset.
He was, indeed, glad that Dane didn't think him crazy....and that he would agree to come to Cinnabar first. At least things would go slightly as planned. He was just glad to not be going alone. Not that he was alone, with his Pokemon, but....it was nice to have human companionship once in a while.
Michele thought for a moment at the question, "....I have a water type....and while I don't think it would be much of a problem, I wouldn't make him carry me on his back all that way,"
That might be too much for his Squirtle to handle, not that he doubted his ability, he just didn't want anything to go wrong...especially not in the middle of the ocean.
".....I usually just take the boat. It's a lot of money but.....it's better than something bad happening, I think...." he shrugged a little, embarrassed.
However, at the next question, Michele outright blushed. He was not an expert when it came to human interaction....though in this situation he couldn't just turn and walk away. He'd dug this grave himself, and now he had to talk....or offend Dane, which wasn't a very dandy ideal. He decided that a shrug would suffice, "I d-dunno....I was just saying that because it sounded like something you would say, in this situation....."
(It's okay, really. I like it that way. XD I can never get my posts as long as some people.)

Sipping at his drink intermitently, Dane tried to think up other places the various orbs might be hiding. Of course, there were all of the different towns, most of which had some kind of relation to the element of their corresponding gym leader.
A thought hit him suddenly, and he suggested, "If we're lucky, the rock orb might be right here in Pewter somewhere, maybe even in Mt. Moon. I mean, if there's an orb for each element, they would probably all be hidden in places related to their types, right? And Mt. Moon is the only real place I can think of with plenty of rock type Pokemon and a rich history to boot.
"Although...what do you think these orbs look like? I mean...will we really be able to tell the difference between a rock orb and a really smooth, spherical rock?" Wondering how common nearly spherical rocks were, Dane began thinking about Onix and Geodude, both of which had vaguely spherical parts to them.
When Mike admitted to not having a reliable means of transport across the ocean, Dane said, "Don't worry about it, we can both ride on my Gyarados. As long as you don't have a problem with big Pokemon like that?" In the past, Dane had met plenty of people who just couldn't get over the size of some Pokemon or the way they looked. Most people were intimidated by a Gyarados's stare, even if it held no ill will. It was something he had a hard time forgiving.
Smirking slightly when the other boy blushed, Dane wondered if Mike was just bad with people. His tight bond with his Eevee made it seem like he had an easier time getting along with Pokemon, so Dane decided to relieve him of some of the pressure.
"Heh. Yeah, I guess I would have said that myself eventually if you hadn't," he admitted. "I guess we should start with the basic stuff, like where you come from and what made you want to take on something like this. You know, it takes a certain kind of person to be willing to step up and actively seek out legends like this."

Michele, at the question about the orb, turned his gaze back to the book, trying to find some information on them. He was quiet for a moment, while Dane seemed to be pondering about something. He didn't find any reliable description about what the orbs would look like.....
"It doesn't say much about it.....other than they will be perfect spheres....and are fragile like glass," he said lowly, frowning at the page. Not that he expected the ancient text to make this any easier, but....hey, it would be nice for some helpful clues once in a while. Maybe the orbs were clear then...and therefore were easy to overlook?
At the mention of a Gyarados, Micheles' pale eyes rose up to meet Dane's, ".....you have a Gyarados? I heard it takes a lot of skill and patience to train one of those," Impressive indeed....though he got the feeling, quiet suddenly, that Dane though him incompetant because of his simple, unevolved water Pokemon. It almost immediately caused his to put his gaurd back up. Yes, his Pokemon was young and unevolved, but he was strong....and very close to evolving into a Wartortle. It would only be a matter of time, really. He chewed on his lower lip to keep himself from saying anything and forced himself to stare at the book. "...I don't have a problem with that. That's fine,"
Ultima shifted slightly against his black hair, seeming to become tired. She soon retired from the top of her Trainers head down into his lap....curling into a tight ball and falling into a light slumber. Michele only moves once, to get comfortable....and he knew that if she continued to sleep, he wouldn't move for the rest of the night (to avoid waking her, of course).
Michele looked up again, to meet Dane's gaze uncertainly. He put the book down on the table and flipped it closed. "....well....I'm originally from Cerulean...." he said, leaning back and hooking his arms over the back of his chair, ".....but I haven't been back for a long time." He sighed a little, averting his gaze to the snow covered window, ".....I wanted to go out and....do something that I could rub in my parents' faces......I want to prove them wrong," He doesn't say any more on that subject, "....what about you?"

As Mike read over the book's description of the orbs, Dane merely shrugged. "Well, it isn't unexpected, I guess. I mean, they didn't want just anyone waltzing up and taking their precious treasures, so I guess we'll have to put a little effort into it...and be careful transporting them."
Thinking about the repercussions should they damage even one of the orbs, Dane suggested, "We should have someplace to drop off all of the orbs. You know, so we don't break them traveling all across the continent with them stuffed in our bags. They know me at the museum, so I'm sure they would let me use an empty desk or a vault or something. That way our treasures would all be in a safe place until we were finished and ready to use them."
Nodding, Dane said, "Yeah, that's true. Although it's easier if you start with a Magikarp. It takes longer, but you've got a bond already established with it, so it doesn't give you as much trouble as long as you treated it well," he explained, thinking about how long ago he'd gotten his own Magikarp. In fact, they'd been together from the very beginning.
"When it comes to Gyarados, people just get lazy and don't want to have to put in the effort to train a Magikarp, so they either try to get one that's already a Gyarados, or they push their Magikarp way too hard in battle to get it to evolve quickly. Me, I just brought it along on my adventures and let it evolve when it wanted. Honestly, it was more trouble as a Magikarp because it couldn't do anything for itself," he reminisced with a chuckle.
Feeling a sudden change in the mood, Dane wondered if he'd said something wrong, but didn't mention it. As Mike began to talk about himself, Dane listened well, but remained comfortable. "Ah, is that it?" he asked with a smirk, having heard many such explanations before. "It isn't a bad motivation, but if you really want to become an explorer you might need to find something more important to go after. Just in the long run, I mean."
When asked about himself, Dane thought for a moment before answering. "Well, I'm originally from Fuchsia, but I've been traveling the world for quite some time, now. I always liked the Safari Zone, personally. It's a gold mine in itself. People always seem to be losing their things in there, so you can pretty much just pick up a bunch of random stuff whenever you visit, not to mention all of the rare Pokemon."
Trying to think of other personal things to talk about, Dane asked, "So, are you an only child? I am," he added before Mike even had a chance to ask. "From what I've seen, many adventurers are only children. I wonder if there's some kind of correlation?" he mused aloud, waiting to see if Mike could think of anything.

".....I'm not an only child," Michele replies lowly, "But none of my siblings are close to me. We don't even talk,"
It was a painful situation. With the parents relationship in the toilet before the youngest child had even been born, it had long since been "every man for himself". At young ages, each child of Michele's family had moved or ran away. The dark haired Pokemon Trainer was one of the first to go, unable to take the ridicule....the violence....the emotional stress. He still had insomnia, because of it. It still bothered him.
"I don't like to talk about my family," he added pointedly, just to let Dane know he probably wouldn't be willing to speak about it anymore.
Michele cleared his throat and tried to think of something else. What else was there to talk about? It was times like these that he wished he had better people skills. If he could talk to people, he would be better off!
".......I'm pretty crafty," he said suddenly, thinking, "......I was just thinking.....It would be hasselsome to find an orb them return to a place to put it and keep it safe, especially if some of them are in Johto," Michele looks up, "....perhaps I could design a backpack that could carry the orbs and prevent them from being broken. If each one had a space and there was adequate protection, then it shouldn't be a problem." he shrugs a little, "But that means one of us would have to carry supplies for two. So....maybe we could keep switching between who carried the orbs and who carries the supplies,"
It was just an idea. If he could create a backpack with adequate padding on the inside, a space for each orb, and reinforce the outside with something to absorb shock....then it should be fine. He would think about it, as soon as they went to buy supplies.
".....what made you want to become a Trainer-?"
