-----------------------------------------  Rune waited, fretful about his soulmates birthing. It had seemed like hours had gone by in the silence, earlier he had stayed with Renesme until he was kicked out by the midwife. Rune's ears twitched at the sound of a young one's cries filled the air. Joy filled him as he heard that sound, then his eyes began to widen as another cry followed the first, and then nearly staggard as a THIRD cry was heard.
Though Rune loved children, he didn't know if he could take another child in their family for now. He cautiously made his way to the birthing room and took in the scene before him. Tears came to his eyes as he let out a soft gasp of amazement. Three children. His and Rene's to love and care for until they were old enough to do so on their own. Each child was placed inside a wicker basket of multiple colors. " Oh love," His voice deep with emotion. " They are beautiful, just look at them!" He felt like the proudest father ever.

 Renesme was exhausted, and without the aid Chandra had given her she was sure she wouldn't have made it through the pain. The birth its self had gone by relatively quickly, a blur on Renesme's memories. Yet as she looked at each of her babies hidden safely in their baskets and the proud look on her mates face she couldn't help but feel proud herself. They had been trying for children for what felt like forever, watching others close to them achieve the task first with little effort... yet seeing them all now, happily wiggling with life the love she had for them was worth waiting for. She had heard rumors that only couples who could provide and love their children enough would ever be granted three, and as she saw the tears stumble down Runes cheeks she knew that their children where certainly much loved already.
She smiled. Content and relaxed for the first time in hours as she sat beside her three precious bundles. "They remind me so much of you Rune." She said with a happy smile, looking at the three baskets Chandra had picked for them. The patterns and designs upon them screamed Rune and she couldn't wait to see them all properly. "What would you like to call them....?"
Her eyes wandered to each, and she couldn't help but wonder what treasures lay within. Would they be girls or boys? Winged or not? More like her? Or more like Rune? A thousand and one questions spun in her head and had her exhaustion not been growing she would have voiced most of them.
Instead she rested her head on the closest one, whispering sweet words of comfort as her eyes closed. "Paris and Eden...." She mumbled before drifting into a well earned sleep.   ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A WHILE LATER----------------------------------------------------------------------  Crown Cullen hid behind a tree, watching his brother attempt to find him. When it came to hide and seek Crown was the best. His wings where smaller than his siblings, and the slightly darker tints to his pelt made it easier for him to blend with the plants around the lake that the herd called home.
He wiggled his tail, excitment bubbling within him as his eyes looked past his brother -Paris Cullen- to find his sister -Eden Cullen- Eden was also meant to be hiding, but sometimes Crown wasn't sure if she was actually playing or simply using it as an excuse to have some time alone. Either way Crown loved both of his siblings dearly, since the moment they had all popped from their baskets he had felt an undeniable urge to protect them and to ensure they where well and happy. Of course he often got the same impression from both of his siblings, be it in slightly different ways.
Eden was quiet at times, practical to a tee and often in a world of her own as far as Crown was concerned, she was smart -even Crown could see that. Paris was almost the opposite, friendly and polite and sincere to a tee. It often made Crown wonder how his siblings saw him.
Still, as he lay hidden near the lake in the reeds his mind wandered to his parents. They seemed very tired, and Crown had heard rumors that his mothers delivery of him and his siblings hadn't gone very easy.... Crown wanted to repay them, make them feel better some how. So, deciding the game was no longer needed her walked from the reeds towards Paris. A smile on his lips and a plan forming in his mind.
"Paris," He said, ensuring his brother heard him since he was currently looking in the opposite direction for either him or Eden. "How do you fancy going on an apple hunt with me?"

 Eden had actually been hiding, she just wasn't any good at it, though being green she should be. But then she had big wings that made it hard to crawl into the smaller places, though hearing that her brothers were going to go do something else she got up from where she had been and wriggled through to to other side of the clump of bushes. She had noticed that the boys tended to do things together, so she would wander around and think, so that is what she decided to do now.
Walking along a path through the trees near the large clearing, making a beeline across the grass after a while. It was not warm today though and after a little wandering around she headed for the area that she slept, curling up, fluffing her wings so she could keep warmer. Looking out over the lake as she thinks, not sure what to do with herself, but hoping her brothers had fun. Having briefly wished that she was a boy too but that had faded fast, such wishes had no purpose, then again any wishes were a flight of fancy. Sighing and shaking her head, wondering and not for the first time if she was normal.
She loved her brothers but they both seemed more fanciful than she did, not that either of them were especially dreamy or bubbleheaded, Its just they seemed to have more fun. They were nice though, and thinking this made her smile. Her brothers were both very likeable though she had no idea if they liked her.

Gently kissing Rene's forehead he agreed on the coloring; although, " Rene-love there is one that looks like you." He nudged the last peachy basket and watched his lifemate droop her eyes with exhaustion. 'Poor dear,' He thought while using his wing to wrap them all in a warm cocoon, he had been a long and hard birthing. He settled down beside her and rested his head next to hers. His ear twitched at the sound of her voice. " Paris and Eden?" His voice rumbled as sleepiness took over him as well.
He looked at each basket with possiblities. The first looked like the garden of Eden, with its beautiful green coloring, the second looked like it had a lovely crown of brown and blue, and the third looked like Paris would suit him or her. " Welcome to the world Crown, Eden, and Paris." Much affection seeping through his voice and then he too took his rest, but on alert incase anything were to happen. He would be ready for the danger. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Paris let out a frustrated sigh and with a little pout on his face, " I don't like it when you do this Cro, you are too good at hiding! And where is Eden?" Paris wobbled his way through the forest, he legs still unsteady because of his huge wings being heavy. Nearly tripping over an upturned tree branch Paris let out another sigh and stopped walking. A look of concentration appeared on his face as he began to move his wings up and down. With a few flaps, he achieved being lifted a few feet of the ground. Letting out a delighted squeal, he began to loose focus and landed quite smartly on his bum. Shaking that feeling off, he continued to wander around until he heard his brothers voice behind him.
Whirling around he took in his big brother, by a few minutes, and smiled happily at him. Frustrated feelings set aside, Paris could never stay angry at his siblings for long. At the mention of food, his tummy growled loudly. "Yeah! I'd fancy a whole lot!" Enthusiasm clear in his voice. " Wanna go find Eden? She could be hungry too!"

Crown smiled as his brother jumped. For some reason spooking his brother always brought a smile to his face, not that he would ever intentionally harm his brother.... but there was something about the reaction he found amusing. Shaking his head he focused once more on the task at hand. "Not for us Paris...." He rolled his eyes, it would be impossible to go apple hunting without having a taste or two but Crown had wanted to go gathering for their parents. They both worked so hard for him and his siblings that Crown wanted to repay them a little. "...for Mummy and Daddy. I am sure we can steal one or two though, just to make sure they taste nice." He cocked his head to the side as he thought for a moment. "Wouldn't want to bring back anything that didn't taste nice after all." He smiled looking left and right for any signs of his sister Eden, sometimes she was very good at evading her brothers.
"Yeah I think we should ask her." He said with a grin of a cheshire cat before looking for her again. After a while he turned to his brother and said. "Happen to know where we can find her?"
Crown had seen Eden wandering on her own a lot, or settled in the spot they all shared to bed down for the night. Perhaps she was there now?
Already his hooves where carrying him towards the Lake, he turned and called to his brother.... "You coming?"

Eden sighed as she saw her brothers coming close, they looked liek siblings, and her with her lack of head wings and her oversized wings seemed the odd one out. Only some of their markings placed thm as siblings, well that and their eyes, other than that they had little in common colour wise though there were similarities. Looking up at them as they came close, not sure why they had come looking for her, and she was sure that it was her they had come looking for.
"I thought that you two were going to go get some apples." Her tone was even as always, she seemd to always sound kind but reserved no matter what, but that was just how she was, fate had made her the eldest and so she was responsible for her broths. She took this responsibility very seriously even though they were only parted by minutes in age it might as well be years with how she acted sometimes. But then what difference did the time between their births matter, she was older, be it 10 minutes or 10 seasons.
Standing when they both got close to where she had been laying, looking more plump with her large wings fluffed up for warmpth, not sure if she was envious or disaproving to see that neither Crown nor Paris seemed to be effected by the cold.

"Oh." Paris said in a sadden tone and feeling chastised. But perked up at the thought of making his parents happy. " Yes a'course! Mama and papa I bet would like dat a whole lot! 'kay! I wanna eat some green apples, there my favourites!" Paris licked his lips at the thought of all those sweet tasting apples.
Paris had thoughtful look on his face while he thought of where his sister could be and missed his brothers chesire cat grin. " Hmmm, I tink the lake maybe?" He spun around to find his brother already walking away and he quickly began to follow his brother." 'den likes it there. Yeah I'm comin', I'm comin' geeze." He wobbled after his brother, who was walking with confident steps.
He took in the sight of his sister, though they did not look alike in some aspects, you could still tell they were siblings. Paris wiggled his wings and trotted over in eagerness. " Hey 'den!" His jaw dropped. " How did you know we were lookin' for apples? Are you psynic (psychic)?" He gave his sister an affectionate nuzzle before stepping back. "Wanna come wit' us? We thought you might wanna come." Paris said earnestly.

"Oh green applies... I like them too!" He chirped with a lick of his lips as they got closer to Eden. Again he smiled like a cheshire cat that faded the moment Eden asked about the apples. How had she know? When Paris asked if she was psychic Crown couldn't help but wonder the same.
Shaking his head after a moment he snapped himself back to the moment, "So what-ya say Eden? Wanna join us?" He grinned again before adding, "...we wanted to get some for Mummy and Daddy, but we will steal a couple for ourselves as well. Just to check... you know... that they taste nice." He found himself blushing, although his sister was only older by mere moments she always acted... more. It sometimes gave him a inferiority complex around her, one that he tried to ignore because he liked being around Eden, liked having her there to play with and go exploring with. But sometimes Crown wished she wasn't so solitary... he had no idea what was going on in her head half of the time, and the other half of the time was a blank slate as far as Crown could tell. Yes, his sister was a mystery. Paris was much easier to understand.

The other side of the Lake.

Renesme woke from a quick morning nap, she always felt guilty for taking them since she had three foals to look after but she knew that the herd would protect them and care for them -especially since the hard labour and delivery had left her week. But it had been over a week now and she was feeling much more like her old self. She woke to find Rune by her side -as usual- he was ever the comfort to her, warmth and security even when she was in pain.
Softly she nuzzled him, taking in the warmth and strength of him for her own. Without him she feared she wouldn't have made it through the ordeal of birth. She loved him so much... through thick and thin he was there for her. "I love you Rune.... just wanted to remind you of that." She chirped, smiling softly as she looked around for her children, usually she would nap in the same place they bedded down for the night, but after the walk she had taken with her children and Rune that morning she had been too exhausted to make it back to the other side of the lake. She noticed Eden, Crown and Paris were no where to be seen; she knew they where safe but still she asked Rune, "Where are our little darlings?" She could already see the new mischief they were discovering... they all had so much ahead of them, and already their personalities shone through like stars. They would be hoovefuls that was for sure. But no matter what Renesme wouldn't change any of them for the world.

Semi-awake, Rune listened to Rene's words which brought a sleepily smile to his face. Boy was he ever lucky to have Renesme as his own. He felt the nuzzle and shifted over to kiss her check, all with his eyes closed. " Mmmm, love 'ou too darling.." Given into his bodies need for a stretch, he did so.
Yawning, he listened to her question and looked around their home. " Hm, well I heard Crown mention something about tag and of course Paris followed him." That brought a smile on his face, two peas in a pod those two! " And little Eden said she was going to join them." Their children made life enjoyable at times, with their constant questions, concerns, and just plain mischief. " Don't worry Rene, I am sure they are fine. We were afterall their age when we met and we did do something exploring around when we were younger. If they don't come back in a few hours, then I will go out and look for them." He put his face into her hair and nuzzled deeply. " Besides, this is nice having some alone time without the kids around." A mischievious grin crept onto his face before he playfully nipped his mate.

Eden looked amused as first one brother then the other thought she was psychic, but then she could only guess that neither of them had noticed her hiding so close to where they had been talking. Maybe she was better at hiding than she thought. But she smiled at them and shook her head, her smile now more indulgent than amused. "Maybe I do, who's to know..." She might think it foolish but her brothers would enjoy the sillyness.
"Ok so we are apple hunting, and you two are the taste testers..." Apples were not her favourite food, though she ate them with little complaint when she was given them. "Well apples grow on trees so I guess we better head that way." Nodding over to where the grass was swallowed by trees, letting her brothers go first so she could keep an eye on them. "We have to keep sight of each other ok?" Giving Crown then Paris a look, she was going to be keeping them close, if one of them got lost there would be trouble... And probably panic too. "Right, lets go and keep close."

Renesme smiled and allowed herself to collapse into the warm heat of her mate. She loved her children... but in some ways Rune was right. "You're so bad Rune!" She chuckled. Having a little alone time while their children were happy and playing would do them good and allow them to recover a little. It had only been a couple of weeks but it was exhausting work, exhausting but highly rewarding. Seeing each of them grow and develop, their personalities showing more and more each day brought a smile to her lips and wander to her heart... what would they grow to be? She was in no rush to find out, if she could have her way she would happily keep them as foals forever, but everything grew up sooner or later. Her children would be no different.
"I am glad they play together well, I know some siblings simply fight all the time... but ours... She snuggled into Runes neck with her nose. "...seem to be very protective of one another. Eden in particular. I think she takes her 'older sibling' responsibilities to heart." She smiled at the memories of the past day or so flooded her mind, yes, Eden was an interesting little girl indeed. Usually it was the brother who was protective of his sisters... but in this case, Eden was older, and as such felt it was her responsibility to act it. Renesme only hoped that she didn't grow up to soon and enjoyed her foalhood. There was plenty of time for responsibility and growing later, and with the herd around there had never been any pressure on Eden nor would there ever if she didn't want it. Renesme made a note to spend some alone time with her daughter soon... a one on one between the only girls in their little family unit would do them both some good.
She yawned, closing her eyes in contentment as she spoke once more; "Do you remember our adventure in that cave.....? I wonder what it was that rubbed up against us!"---------------------------------------------------------------------- Crown's grin relaxed and widened as his sisters choice of words. "So you could be?" If she was, maybe she knew what her parents had been plotting with Sengdroma (alpha) and Maion (protector) earlier that day on their walk. Could she read minds? See the future? Or was it more random that that? Then a sad thought curled up into his mind... what if she could only guess when it came to him and Paris? It wasn't the idea of her being able to tell what he was doing or thinking all the time that upset him, but the fact that her cool power had such a limitation. Crowns life wasn't all that interesting... plus he would just tell her anyway. No need for powers.
He pouted before listening some more, then once again his spirits peeked and soared in the sky despite his current inability to fly. Crown let his little head wings flutter in excitment. "Apple taster number at your service!" He chirped with a grin peeled on his face before he nudged Paris playfully with his rump to join in their play.
Trees.... he knew that apples and oranges both grew on trees, but didn't realise that apple trees were near the herd lands... what did they look like? Did baby applies sit in little baskets around a giant apple shaped tree? "Eden..." He started, tilting his head to the side -and looking rather pathetic (in a cute way)- "...what do apple trees look like?" Usually their food was brought to them, Maion had hinted that soon they would get to go and see all the herd lands and learn many things... from the animals the herd protected, to the best places to collect food for the herd. Any spare food collected was always brought back to the herds heart -the lake- that way they could all share, and those who had not had time to scavenge for food could indulge in a delicious meal. It was an idea that Crown likes a lot, and when he got bigger he wanted to add to that pile and help the herd too.

Rune chuckled at Rene's words. " Bad huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows. " I recall a certain someone who loves me the way I am." He was really enjoying this free time. It was nice to snuggle with his mate, and he wasn't afraid to say it every now and then. It was a bit difficult at times to watch his children age, and quite sad that his babies wouldn't be babies for long. "Yes, I am happy for that. Its good to see they all get along and help each other out. Though," He continued dryly. " At times, it seems they are more closer together when one of them gets trouble. And yes, Eden does seem to take her role as elder sibling too seriously. But if thats what makes her happy... Then thats the way things should be, but a nice mother and daughter talk would be benefical too. I'm no good at that kind of stuff." Rune winked and stood to stretch his body as well as his wings before laying down once more. " Oh," Rune blinked in surprise. " You know... I kind of forgotten about that. It was probably nothing." He chuckled while closing his eyes too. " Just the over-active imaginations of the mind. " His voice trailed off to light snoring.------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paris eyes widen at her answer. 'Cool,' was his immediate thought followed by his second thought, 'uh-oh! If she can read minds where would be the fun in playing games? She'd know everything..!' A worried look crossed his features at the possibilities in the future, but shook off that final thought with ease. How silly his sister was and he giggled cutely. " Yes, apple taster number 2 at your service!" Paris said with such seriousness it was almost comical. "Me and Cro and you too if you want 'den! A tree a'course! Let us be off to the forest!" Paris used his wings to point in the direction of the woody area and felt the bum-bump from Crown. He giggled and bumped him back. Listening to Crowns question, he copied his brothers actions to a 'T' without realizing. "Yeah, are they bumpy or flat?"

Eden tried hard not to cringe as she gets called 'den, she hated that nickname, it made her feel like she should be a big war horse stallion with a very shaggy pelt. Sighing and shaking her head. "No the apples are all yours." They would probably think she was mad if she told them she didn't actually like the fruit, but then she would eat them simply because there was little to choose from at the moment, though she had herd some of the others talking that the spring and summer had other foods, she would probably find something then that she liked better.
Starting to walk towards the trees as she answered, leaving her brothers with 2 choices, come or stay. "I don't know what they look like, but they will probably have apples on or around them and we know what they look like." It seeming simple to her, go with what you know and the rest will come, they knew what an apple looked like so an apple tree obviously would have apples on or around it. Her wings still tucked around her keeping the warmth in, wondering if anyone would notice they were gone, though she doubted they would be gone long.

Crown did his usual 'O' shape with his mouth as he turned to look at Paris -who he had to say held a possition very much like his own had been moments before, were they really so similar? He smiled, spoke quickly before moving his little hooves in an effort to catch up to Eden; "Following the leader!"
As he skipped, and hopped and even jogged to keep up with his sister Crown begun to sing, "We're following the leader, the leader, the leader
We're following the leader wherever she may go" Eden was right, they knew what an apply looked like and what they tasted like for that matter... so how hard would an apple tree be to find?
After a while he stopped singing and stepped towards Paris before whispering; "Paris... do you think Eden is mad with us?" Sometimes Crown found it hard to read his sister -he knew she felt responsible for them whenever they were together because she was the oldest, but sometimes she would seem annoyed to him... or maybe that was just her way? Either way Crown was curious to hear what his brother thought, it was probably just his imagination getting the better of him again afterall.---------------------------------------------------------------------- "You're lucky I do!" She called playfully, winking softly to her mate as she snuggled closer, "Not sure who else would have you!" She chuckled, playing with Rune had always been one of her faviourite things to do.
When the conversation changed to her children Renesme took it seriously, she wanted with all her heart for her children to be happy and safe, to make true friends in life and maybe one day -in the distant future- find a mate. "I hope she is happy, sometimes it is hard to tell....." She was a little concerned, not because her daughter was 'different' but because she was afraid she didn't understand her daughter... and that scared Renesme. She had wanted children for so long, had done everything she could possibly think of in an effort to provide the best for each of them. "Yeah..." she started at last, finally snapping from her thoughts, "I think a little mother-daughter time will do us both some good."

Paris ears dropped a little at the look on his sisters face, he couldn't help if his lisp got the better of him with her name. He would have to try harder next time when he said it. Shaking off those thoughts he raced up to his brother to sing the words with him, though his version was a little off key and garbled as he didn't really know the words. All the while looking down as his hooves with interest, unlike his siblings his horse hair was flowy just like his mama's legs. He also liked the black wings on his back legs, they were so neat, and with that thought they began to wiggle in the wind.
" Huh?" Paris lifted his head and looked his brother. He also began to whisper back. " Well, maybe? I mean she did seem kinda... annoyed. I wonder why? " That put a sad frown on his face as he kept pace with his brother. Paris just couldn't see what the problem could be, they had two loving parents and yeah Eden didn't have a sister to talk with but she still had Crown and him. She didn't need to feel left out or isolate herself because they were boys. " I miss mama and papa."
