Today was an exciting day for Fremere!
His mom had taken him and his sister to the indoor swimming pool for the day since it was obviously much too cold to go swimming outside. Both of the children were quite excited and upon arrival Seidh chose to stay in the shallow end for now with Akuja while Fremere took up more adventurous pursuits, like the springy diving board that kids could jump off of into the deep end! Minding the pool rules, Fremere walked down the length of the large pool to the small line that had formed for the spring board.
The boy didn’t mind waiting at all and got into line behind a kid that seemed to be his size. Never one to pass up the chance to make a new friend, the boy tapped the kid on the shoulder. “Hi! My name is Fremere, are you excited to jump off the springy thing too?” He asked excitedly and without hesitation.

While Donovan had come to drop Vance off at the indoor pool, he himself ventured to the gym. Either to work out or pick up chicks. Vance was unaware of the later, but he happily left for the swimming pool on his own. He usually had no problem making friends, so being left alone wasn't a big deal to Vance.
Immediately, he headed for the lineup to the big diving board. It was easily one of his favorite things about pools. It was a a few minutes of waiting, when he suddenly felt someone tap his shoulder. Vance turned around with a smile, curiously regarding the boy. Fremere? Cool name! "Yeah! I'm Vance." He said eagerly with a grin. "I've never seen one so big!" He said happily, referring to the diving board.

Fremere was very delighted when the boy turned around and started to converse back at him, a grin crossing his features now as well. “That’s an awesome name! It’s nice to meet you!” The boy nodded his head in agreement to Vance’s statement. “Yeah, I haven’t seen one so long either!” The length made for a good running start that way when they reached the end the bounce was very high.
The boy moved a bit when the line shortened, but still kept eye contact with his new potential friend. “Do you come here a lot? This my third time here, I’m here with my sister and mother, are you here with anyone?” The boy questioned curiously and energetically.

It was unusual for Vance to be on the other end of the questioning. Yet he didn`t mind. He was talking, and he loved talking. Especially with people, and not his toys. People were awesome! "I've never been here before! I usually swim at home, but it's too cold. My dad brought me here! But he's at the gym." Vance answered happily, moving when he had to for the line to progress. Boy, it was sure nice to talk to someone as energetic as he was! He liked this kid!
"My new brother didn't wanna come. He hates water." He said a bit dejectedly. He liked Vahn a lot, but Vahn didn't seem to like anyone.

“Oh really?” This was his first time here? How cool! “It’s really fun here!” When Vance mentioned that he swam at home Fremere looked quite surprised. “You have a swimming pool at your house?” He questioned in awe. How cool was that! Vance had a dad instead of a mom? That was interesting! “Neither of them wanted to swim?” Fremere asked curiously, frowning a bit. Swimming was awesome, how could anyone not like it?
The boy suddenly popped his head up when the spring board was empty, patting the boy on the shoulder. “It’s your turn Vance!” He cheered.

Looks like Fremere knew a lot more about this place than he did. Good to know someone on the inside!
Vance nodded. "Yup! I swam in it every day until it got cold." Now he had to wait DAYS to go swimming! It was torture for the little frog boy. "Nope. Dad seemed excited to go to the gym. Vahn glared at us when we asked. Glaaared! Like this!" Vance said, imitating the fierce glare of his wolfy brother. Not very well, though. Vance had a long way to go as far as looking fierce in any way.
Vance looked behind him when Fremere pointed out that the diving board was free. "Yay! Meet you in the pool!" The pale skinned, red eyed boy climbed up the ladder eagerly, being careful not to slime up the rails. He was having an easier time controlling the ooze his skin liked to permeate now that he was older.
Vance stood proudly up top, looking down at Fremere and waving before looking back out. Heights didn't bother this boy. He climbed walls and roof tops on a regular basis. He ran across the board, launching himself into a jump and plummeting into the water, canon ball style.
Being so small, his splash wasn't anything too impressive, but he liked to think it was. He resurfaced, laughing and wiping his wet hair from his face and swimming aside so Fremere could jump. He watched eagerly.

“That’s really cool!” Fremere exclaimed, quite impressed. It would have been really cool if he could have swum everyday! The best he could get aside from the pool was the bathtub. The boy’s lips parted in surprise at Vance’s story about his brother and at Vance’s attempted glare the boy let out an impressed sound. Wow that must have been s serious look! The only time he’d seen looks like that was when mom would do that to Freyr and when Seidh had come into his room and whapped him upside the head for sending her letter to Quint.
“Okay, see you there!” Fremere replied happily, watching Vance climb onto the spring board and when the frog boy waved the boy waved back energetically and watched excitedly as Vance made his way down the spring board and then did a canon ball into the water. Sure the splash wasn’t that big, but to Fremere it was pretty awesome and the boy clapped proudly for his new friend. Once Vance was safely out of the way Fremere climbed onto the springboard and took a moment to locate his sister and mother before he made his way down the spring board and bounced, going high into the air and then doing a spin off of the spring board and soared through the air for a few moments before landing into the water.
The boy resurfaced, grinning from ear to ear as he swam over to Vance, “Let’s go get in line again!”

Vance watched Fremere jump, his mouth forming a big "O" shape. Cool! Did Vance look cool from down here too? Totally, he thought. "Yeah!!" Vance said enthusiastically, giving Fremere a high five before swimming through the pool toward the ladder.
He climbed up and headed toward the line again, getting scolded by a nearby lifeguard to moving too quickly. "oops~." He walked slower until he was inline again. It was so hard not to run! Once in line, he let Fremere go in front of him this time.
"I'm gonna try a flip next time!" Vance said to his friend, his fists clenched in front of of him with enthusiasm. "Like... jump and fwoosh!" He mimicked the action using his hand as the flipping person.

Fremere gladly raised a hand to return the high five, giggling as he swam after Vance and climbed out of the pool. Being influenced by his new friend, the boy was doing a little run down the pool side too until Vance got scolded by the lifeguard to which he slowed down as well, looking a bit sheepish until they got to the spring board. He thanked the boy when he let him get in line first and then turned his attention back to him.
“Oh wow! You’re super brave!” Fremere commented. “I don’t think I’m ready for a flip yet!” He had seen Vance’s hand flip motions but he still wasn’t sure if he could do that on his own yet.

Super brave? You better believe that Vance's ego was puffed up ten fold from that comment. He puffed out his chest a bit, hands on his hips confidently. "Flips are fun! Except when you land on your head. That kinda hurts." He said, apparently from experience. "I do them in the backyard a lot. Buuuuut.." He looked at the diving board cautiously. "I gotta be careful on diving boards. Dad said it's reaaaally dangerous." He did them anyway, but his sticky skin usually prevented him from slipping.
"You and me should do flips at my house sometime!" Vance said eagerly, wanting to roughhouse with his new pal.
The line was soon clear. Vance saluted his friend and climbed up the big ladder again. He walked to the edge of the board, jumping a couple times before launching himself outward, flipping in the air and diving into the water. Show off. He surfaced with a gasp of air, grinning and swimming backward to see Fremere take his turn.

Fremere didn’t think that his friend was showing off at all, he was really brave and the stance that he took just confirmed how brave he was! The boy made an awed sound but frowned a bit seriously when Vance warned about being careful to which he gave a firm nod of his head for he would take that very seriously! He still didn’t think he was ready for flips yet.
At Vance’s statement at playing at his house Fremere gave some excited nods of his head. “That would be awesome! I’ll talk to my mom about it later! She’s over there!” He pointed to some vague direction in the pool before he watched his new friend climb onto the ladder.
Fremere returned the salute and then watched with baited breath as Vance made his way down the spring board and then launched himself forward doing a rather nice flip. The boy clapped his hands excitedly and gave the thumbs up to Vance once the boy surface. As he climbed the ladder he briefly wondered what he wanted to do before he made up his mind. The boy moved down the diving board and did a few bounces at the end before he leapt out with his hands and feet outstretched and did a belly flop.
Somewhere in the shallow end, Akuja cringed.
When Fremere surfaced though, he didn’t seem at all in pain and in fact was still grinning quite widely as he swam over to where Vance was. “That flip was super awesome Vance! You’re a flip master!”

"Cool!" Vance was excited! He really liked having friends over.
Vance watched Fremere climb the ladder after returning the thumbs up. He treaded water, his eyes following the other boy's movements. His eyes widened at the actions then taken. A belly flop?! Vance winced and tensed up as the boy hit the water, waiting anxiously for Fremere to surface. That had to hurt! But he was fine! "You're crazy!" Vance laughed as Fremere made his way back over.
Vance mentally puffed up proud again upon receiving another compliment. "Yeah? Hee hee!" He giggled happily, bubbling over being called a master. Vance, the Flip Master! "Oh! Should we go again? I know a bunch of games we can play in the water! Like Marco Polo!"

Fremere just simply laughed when Vance called him crazy. “I hear that a lot!” He replied cheerfully (though it was a true statement). “Yeah!” He agreed upon reaching the frog boy when asked if he was awesome at flips. Pfft, yeah he was!
At the new suggestion, the boy treaded water thoughtfully as well. Huh! Well, they could always go off of the diving board many times, and they had already, so maybe now was a good time for games? He hadn’t played any water games at all yet! “Oooh tell me about the water games!” Fremere said eagerly. “If we need more people, we can get my sister, she’s over there!” Once again, the boy pointed in a vague direction towards the shallow end.

Vance was eager to teach! He loved explaining his games to others. "One is Marco Polo! One of us is 'IT', and we have to stay in the water and close our eyes. Then the others gotta swim without getting tagged. IT person can yell "Marco?" and then we have to say "Polo!" in return. If the IT person tags you, then you become IT. Also! If the IT person thinks someone is out of the water, they gotta say "Fish out of water!" and if they're right, then the fish is IT." Vance explained all this with great enthusiasm. "And that's just ONE of the games I know!" He said in a big voice, proudly beaming.
The frog boy looked toward the shallow end again, trying to see where Fremere was pointing. He wasn't sure if it was his sister, but he did see someone familliar! "Oh, it's Seidh! Does she wanna play?"

Fremere continued to tread water as he listened intently to Vance’s explanation of this game called Marco Polo. “Oh cool! This sounds really fun!” The boy did a twirl in the water in excitement and paused, perking up when Vance said his sister’s name.
“Yeah! She’s my little sister!” The boy informed the frog boy. “I’m sure she’d love to play, I’m going to go get her!” Fremere didn’t even bother waiting as he made his way to the ladder and climbed out and walked as fast as he could to the shallow end near a wall where Seidh and his mother were hanging out. The boy was speaking excitedly to his little sister, his arms waving wildly and he grinned as she climbed out of the pool and walked down with him (rather calmly) to the deeper end where Vance was.
The small girl looked a bit surprised as Fremere did a canon ball back into the water. “…Oh!...Hello Vance! How was your cake?”
