The Garandoki Ranch

Located on a peaceful island north-west of the country of water, there lies Garandoki Ranch. This peaceful community has absolutely no military strength of its own, and relies on other, stronger villages to protect it. It is an epicenter of trade in the eastern seas, exporting goods to the leaf, cloud, and mist villages. It's known to be a stop on over 200 trade routes, and normally welcomes over 30 ships each day. With a booming economy and many powerful friends, it has an extremely low crime rate despite it's large population.

The community dominates the island in it's entirety. Nearly all of the shoreline is covered by docks, though they are spaced out enough that it doesn't ruin the beaches beauty. further inland, there is a large district dedicated to families who raise livestock, and another large district for farmers who only wished to grow crops. In between and around these two districts are open fields that are used for grazing, with few hills or trees to get in the way.

Location(s): Garandoki Ranch
Rewards: Experience based on how long you spend trying to catch them and how many you catch.
Other: There are 30 turkeys to be caught. First come first serve. Go to Garandoki Ranch for more info on how to catch a turkey.
SPECIAL: If all 30 turkeys are caught before the early winter festival (Dec.5th), then everyone who participated will receive an extra secret bonus. If all 30 turkeys aren't caught, the early winter festival will cease to exist.

Catch a turkey by out maneuvering it.

Catch a turkey by simply outrunning it.
1d20 + Athletics (Str)
DC: 14

Convince a turkey to go back into the coop by it's own free will.
1d20 + Diplomacy (Cha)
DC: 12 + 1 per success (due to the turkey's eventually catching on to what you're up to.)

Sneak up on a turkey and grab it from behind.

1) This event will last from today (Nov.28th) until next Sunday (Dec.5th) Posts made after noon on Monday (Dec.6th) will not be counted.
2) Anyone genin or lower rank may participate, regardless of their village.
3) I will be managing this event, so direct any questions or suggestions to me.
4) Qyp is the only one here with more authority than me.
5) At the end of the event, I will personally tally up the results and post the XP earned in the post below this one. (The amount of XP will be approved by Qyp prior to me posting it)
6) These rules are subject to change.

Gin walked into the zone where all the turkies were and looked around at all the turkies. How the hell were there so many around the place, well the hard part would be to capture all of these turkies, they were rather fast. He charged forward and did jumps and rolls in an attempt to catch them. Using his quick reactions and flexibility to manuever throughout the flat lands. He saw an opening and did a cartwheel to the left side to block it, it decided to go to where he was then at this point. He rolled to the side to get infront of it and he caught it while in mid roll. He caught one, and he made sure to return it so he could return to catch some more.

Zentos walked onto the field that was the Garandoki ranch and saw a massive outbreak of turkeys. Given the task of catching as many as he could, he already saw multiple other genin along the field running after them. Shrugging to himself, he decided that he might as well get a little exercise and help catch a few. Trying to make it a slight bit more competitive for himself, he wanted to be the one who caught the most. As he tried picking out a target, a turkey ran through his legs and right past him. Looking around to see if anybody had seen that embarassing failure at attentiveness, he turned around and started off after it.

Gin rubbed the side of his head, he caught the first one of the whole lot, he was the first successful catch. He was the first one to even be there to attempt to catch them in reality but ohh well. Looking around at the surrounding turkies who knew that he would have trouble catching them but he would be able to capture them, they were fast but he was a ninja. He was a ninja who prided himself on his speed and dexterity. He knew that he could do it, and these turkies would be a good stepping stone to improving his abilities. When one ran by he jumped backwards in a flip and landed in a breakdancing airflare and caught the turkey between his legs with it. That one was easy, he was too good.

After the one that had ran right through him, he found it by its quite distinctive feather coloring. Smirking, he put to use the muscles that he had gotten from hours of running along the under-area, his training was put to use quite well as he automatically caught up to it. Grabbing it by the left wing, he hoisted it up and walked over to a fenced off area and dropped it into the designated return pile. Just starting to have fun, he walked around, trying to look for both someone to interact with and more turkeys to catch.

Gin smiled, he was yet a kid, not even 10 years old and was winning the challange, he also was catching these turkies easily. He ran forward to a turkey and jumped into what seemed like a one handed handstand but it was more than that. He turned his body while in the handstand and flung himself over a turkey and caught it while still in midair and flipped around as he slid across the ground. He flipped after he grabbed it so the turkey wouldn't be crushed under his weight, he was bigger than the turkey even if he was only a small skinny 8 year old.

Another immediate success, he chanced upon another turkey that was simply trotting by. Smirking, he walked right over it and put his foot down gently on the turkey's feet so that it wouldn't run away. He picked it up by it's neck and tossed it over the fence. It landed with a solid thump and a squawk, which Zentos took as it safely landing, but being slightly flustered that it was being treated in such a manner. A few hundred feet away, he saw someone land in an airflare and catch a chicken with his feet. Slightly impressed, he walked over to the genin, by the looks of it, and introduced himself.

"Hey, I'm Zentos. Nice moves catching those turkeys, I'm from Kumogakure and I was called here to help with the catching, what about you?

Gin found this easy but he found it extremily fun. He was certaintly beating the other kids. He was a lot faster than both the turkies and the other kids, he was quite an acrobatic. He did another sprint forward and jump into a handstand but this time he after landing in a handstand went down to land on his arms, he held himself up with his forarms, where it bent at the elbow to the hand. He used that to hold himself upsidedown. He then jumped to his feet with force and did a backflip after his feet met the ground. He appeared by one and he grabbed it and did a recoil hop after the backflip. He caught another one.

After introducing himself, Zentos felt obliged to find another turkey. Without wandering too far that he wouldn't be able to continue the conversation with the kid who looked far younger than him, Zentos jogged around until a turkey promptly presented itself in front of him. After a short maybe... thirty second chase, he had tackled the poultry down. Having some serious fun now, he encouraged the kid to come with him so that they could catch turkeys together.

"Hey, wanna work together? We could probably do this work in half the time by doing this with each other" Zentos said optimistically, with a wide grin on his face.

Gin ran on, he was definately going to capture the most turkies, and he had the lead. He was a lot faster than these guys on his feet, that's all that mattered on this matter. It was pure dexterity that allowed him to capture the 4 he caught already. He ran forward and jumped forward and did a roll infront of one, the turkey tried to run by him. He felt his weight drop to his side to block it off, it then spun around and ran the other way. But he was to quick, he did an air flare to get to his feet and jumped and did a roll over the head and spun to grab it tightly. He was to fast for this.

The kid that Zentos had been talking to was not apparently in his own little world, deeming not to reply to him. Almost insulted, he brushed it off and ran over to another area, looking for more turkeys. He would not be beaten by someone who didn't respect him enough to even reply to him. But he knew that the task ahead of him would be intensely hard, because it looked like the child hadn't failed yet, and the embarassing moment when that turkey had run through his legs was brought to his mind once again, and he had to grit his teeth and focus. He just had to catch more turkeys.

Sighing, he saw three or four turkeys ahead of him. Trying to pick which one would be the best to chase, he almost decided on one before they all started running in random directions. Choosing the closest one, he sprung from his feet and took a few steps, but had to change directions wildly as another target presented itself running in his direction. Instead of sticking to one target, he was overambitious and tried to get both. Failing wildly, he ended up on his butt from spinning around trying to catch the turkeys. Laughing to himself quietly now, he had almost made a fool of himself. Good thing that nobody else was around to see this embarassment. Almost everything that he had done today brought the blood to his face in an immediate blush, but he didn't care. He swallowed his pride, got up, and decided to keep chasing. Seeing the same kid show up near him again doing acrobatics such as handstands and more flares, he was more and more impressed. He had to admit, for someone so young, he was extremely flexible an very capable. He wondered if he was any good of a melee fighter.. Oh well, Zentos knew that this wasn't the time or place to go around asking for a sparring match. He was going to have to focus on the task at hand and help the owners of this ranch restore peace and just catch more turkeys.
