Truth be told, he wasn't even supposed to be out tonight. He had promised his partner he'd put schoolwork before Negaverse work, that he'd bust his a** to get all caught up in school so he wouldn't fail and that things would maybe be okay again. But when one has spent nearly every night for the past few weeks out hitting the streets to do Nega-work it was hard to break the habit. Very hard.
He HAD been good today. He'd spent a good few hours in the dorm working away at the pile of things he owed. But there were only so many hours Demetri Wright could stand being cooped up before he went crazy and needed to go out and do something, and Demy had already hit that point tonight. The blonde promised himself it'd just be a quick trip. Go out, nab one starseed, maybe a cigarette if he could find one, and get back before Zinkenite got back from his own patrols and discovered he was gone.
So far it was going according to plan! One starseed was being tossed up and down in his gloved hand, and a lit cigarette was hanging out of his mouth. Currently the officer was holed up in an alley, perched on the lid of a dumpster as he relaxed. The moment that cig was done, he'd head home.
As long as nothing distracted him.

Alshain did not like this. He's become accustomed to patroling with Saiph and working as a team. Being forced to patrol on his own for a night or two grated. The senshi was garrulous by nature and preferred having company to talk to. Still, if things stayed this quiet, it wouldn't be so bad. He might even get to head home a little earlier than expected! Then he could call Gabbie and cement his plans to get her to a ren faire.
A strange glimmer from the corner of his eye caught the Gryphon senshi's attention. And when he turned, he nearly groaned. The tall blond with the bouncing starseed in his hand could only be a Negaverse officer. And if he had a starseed, his victim was likely already dead. Still. He couldn't be allowed to keep the seed.
From his shadowy hiding place, he whispered, "Divine Winds!" calling up a swirling winds that was aimed, not for the officer, but the starseed. Alshain knew his limits. While his attack couldn't lift a man. It could, with luck, knock the starseed from the Negaverser's hand.

Yeah, this was great. Quiet night, nothing really to worry about...well at least until he got home and hit the homework again. Sigh.
It was on the next toss of his starseed that the small glittering crystal was suddenly blown aside right before it landed back into his gloved hand. Not only this, but the light on his cigarette was blown out. <******** blonde Captain quickly scrambled off the dumpster, making a dash to retrieve the starseed before it could be blown any further. And once he got his hands back on it he was going to find whoever thought that was funny and kick their a**.
And then go back home. ******** the world.

Okay, that hadn't gone quite how Alshain had hoped. He should have expected the dude to chase the starseed rather than sit and stare in confusion. Time to get out there and keep him busy.
Stepping from the shadows, Alshain sent another Divine Winds after the starseed while he himself ran after the Negaverser. Maybe he could tackle the guy and knock him out for a minute.

Aha! Just another inch and it'd be back in his hands ********, another burst of wind shoved the starseed even further out of his hands. If that wasn't bad enough, just as he was changing course to go after it again a body slammed into him and knocked him clear off his feet.
As he slammed into the ground he realized something else. This person who had tackled into him was giving off an energy signature. A Senshi ******** probably think this is pretty funny, huh Senshi scum?" Well, despite the inner cursings of ******** he seemed pretty calm. He was even grinning and snickering to himself, like he was in on the absolute best joke ever. The blonde gave a small struggle, signaling really he couldn't get up if he wanted to.
Good thing he didn't have to just get up. A second later he blipped out of existence, appearing a moment later right by the lost starseed. It was quickly scooped up into his hand, that grin trained back on the Senshi that until a moment ago had been sitting on top of him.
"Guess you didn't expect that, huh?"

Well, his plan had worked for all of two seconds. Alshain sighed as the officer under him began to speak so calmly. And then, he blipped and reappeared. Blinking in bemusement, Alshain sat up and shook his head silently.
"Look, do you see me laughing? Clearly I am not finding this funny. And why didn't you just do that at first instead of running?"
As he spoke, Alshain was getting to his feet and tensing. He didn't like the other guy's smile. It gave him the goddamn creeps.

"Because I don't just 'port everywhere, it'd be boring." Scheelite tucked the starseed inside a pocket. There, safe. Nobody was going to jeopardize his starseed quota tonight.
"Sometimes walking the streets is fun. Seeing the sights, the people...stealing stuff. Ya know. Fun! If I just 'ported all over the place I'd be missing out on the -trip-, and let's face it..porting a few feet over is really useless unless someone is currently sitting on you."
God he didn't want to do this. He'd really prefer to just -go home- quietly. Getting into a fight meant bruises or worse and if Zac saw them he'd know he was out tonight and s**t would go down. But just being near the positive aura of a Senshi made him tense up, the corruption of his own soul likely doing it out of natural instinct.
"So why don't we skip this. Besides, I know the outcome! I win. Wanna raincheck this til another night buddy?"

"So now you're a psychic too?"
Alshain has alredy noticed enough litter in the streets to be of some use. He couldn't lift this creep, but he could make it hard to fight while being caught in the middle of a paper maelstrom.
As he called up the winds, he silently cursed the fact that Saiph wasn't around. She could have laid this kid out with a single attack. Instead, it was up to him. Great.

"Ooooo, wrong choice." Okay, ******** winds were annoying. ******** flying paper everywhere was also annoying. But Scheelite was used to fighting in little to no visibility, and he was also used to charging straight in with fists flying rather than stopping to think. Maybe one day Zac would break him of that. Maybe.
Smacking a piece of paper away from his face, the blonde summoned his weapon into his hands and ran straight at the area he had last seen Alshain, swinging the instrument out to attempt a hit.

Okay... he was summoning guitars out of thin air now. A guitar. Suddenly, Alshain's head hurt. Diving to the side, he managed to barely avoid the blow. Turning as he dodged, he swung out with his fist, aiming not fo the kid's face, but for his wrist. Alshain had fought with swords at enough Ren Faires to have a good idea of where to hit if you wanted to disarm your opponent. And he knew how to dodge.
Now all he had to do was make sure the kid got tired before he did.

The guitar clattered to the ground, the blow to the wrist knocking it clean out of his wrist. No matter! He could fight without it!
"If you scratched that, you're gonna pay." Scheelite had been around the block more than a few times, but he lacked the discipline in holding back and striking when it was best. The hyperactive captain was much more an in your face punching away type person, and thus it was many punches aimed for the chest that Alshain found flying his way next.

Only the years spent learning swordfighting kept Alshain from being pummeled mercilessly. The punches that did land certainly hurt, but he was willing to take a few if it meant being able to fight back intelligently. He'd just dodged another blow when he decided it was time for him to hit back. Pulling back his fist, he winced as one blow struck just below his ribs. That's leave a bruise for certain. Then, he swung out, aiming for the boy's jaw. He didn't want to seriously injure a dumb kid, but he wanted this s**t over.

Haha! Maybe he could add a Senshi starseed to his collection for the night and be even better off for his weekly quota! It was somewhere in the middle of this daydream of awesome that the blow to his jaw connected and he instantly saw stars. The kid reeled back, gloves flying up to protect this time rather than lash out further at Alshain.
"...Name's Scheelite. Captain Scheelite, and you are?" Like hell he was leaving this battle without at least knowing who he was fighting.

Straitening, Alshain winced as he held his side. He was fairly certain that some of his ribs were bruised. But at least his punch had connected. Smiling grimly, he executed a small bow before balling his fists again, clearly getting ready in case the kid had any further ideas about fighting him.
"Sailor Alshain, Senshi of Gryphons at your service."

Scheelite rubbed at his jaw a bit more. ********, that was going to bruise and then Zac would ask him awkward questions. He'd have to think of -some- way to explain it away that didn't involve 'oh hey yeah, I went out despite not being done with homework and fought a Senshi! Awesome, huh?'. Yeah...that wouldn't go over well.
"Lucky for you Alshain, I have more important s**t to attend to." The kid was a sore loser too. "We'll have to do this again sometime." And then he was gone, the Captain blipping out of existence once more. Teleporting a second time was a stupid idea. He was going to be exhausted. But it was the easiest way to insure he wouldn't be followed and the quickest way to get back to Hillworth.
It also insured him going home with that starseed. Nyeh nyeh!
