I would love to see samples of other peoples work. It would give me an idea of how literate you are!

Amaya stared into his glassy, blue eyes in deep contemplation. Amaya had never heard those three words. Everyone hated her, no one dared love her. It wasn't possible for anyone to. Amaya was just one of those people that you ignore, one of those people you hate, and one of those people you can never forgive for having been born. Amaya's eyes trailed down to the broad man's hands which were trembling at his sides, but not from the cold winter air that just happened to breeze past them, from fear. Fear of rejection perhaps? Or fear of just the opposite? Justin looked at her, no stared at her, his eyes we stern, hard, almost mean-looking, yet they had a softness in them that Amaya knew only she could see. Amaya, the mute girl, the girl whom never spoke a day in her life, has been told that she was loved. Amaya had to drag herself out of her thoughts, her head was screaming to shut up and walk away, but Amaya couldn't bring herself to do just that. It was like she had no control over her own body, it was like, Amaya was paralyzed. Another gust of winter air buffeted Amaya's ebony hair. That was all she needed to move, and she did move. She moved so quick that she doubted that Justin would even realize that Amaya's movement was in attempt to hug him. Amaya, the mute girl, whom never spoke a day in her life... spoke three little words, she spoke them so softly that you could barely hear it over the wind, but the message itself was loud enough to echo throughout the centeries to come, "I love you too."User Image

Sienna Mae

"You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I just want something.
I just want something I can never have..."

Cling. Cling. Cling. Clang! Strike. Parry. Breathe. Cling...

That's how her mind was. In complete battle mode, she was quite the force to be reckoned with. Striking and parrying. Breathe and leaping. The only things she knew on the battle field.

Another strike. Another body falling. Another parry. Another body falling. And then... the sight that shattered her life. Her Andren; Dead.

And then she was running as fast as she could to reach him before he hit the ground. Each strike didn't matter. Each breath was insignificant. There he was. He was the only thing in her vision, falling in seemingly slow motion. She got there just as he was about to hit the body-littered ground. "I've got you now. You're going to be just fine. Just fine." She knew she was lying. She was lying to the only person she had ever loved. And the hardest part was that he knew it. "I love you." His last gasping words, and he was smiling. That smile was the last thing Sienna saw before her world ended.

And then Sienna woke up.

"Andren!" she shouted, sitting up abruptly. She knew they were all looking at her. She didn't care. Looking around, she glared at each and every one of them. "What're you all looking at? Get back to work!" she hissed, her fiery orange eyes piercing them all. She had dozed off. She had dreampt of that day... Again. It never stopped. Rising slowly from her chair, she gathered her longsword and dagger up and walked out of there with her head held high. "Focus. Where's your mind? You're supposed to be protecting human cargo," she thought to herself. "Annoying human cargo..." she added quickly, walking in the direction of the girl's tent.

"...You always were the one to show me how.
Back then I couldn't do the things that I can do now.
This thing is slowly taking me apart.
Grey would be the color if I had a heart!"

Close your eyes, don’t say a word,
your way to beautiful you’ve heard.
The way, the way, my heart keeps beating b-b-b beating.
For every grain of sand,
that you drew me pictures in.
there was one for every time that my, heart, dropped, again.

—Jeydon Marcous wasn't looking forward to the long plane trip. Heights just weren’t his thing. When he was only nine years of age, he and his friends would always run right to the jungle-gym’s monkey bars. David, Jey remembered most. He could’ve sworn that he was the worst person ever. Though people preferred him, Jey saw him as the devil in disguise. Sure, he wasn’t all that bad, but it was just one of those things he couldn’t stand without any explanation why. Some people couldn’t tolerate the smell of onions, the sight of spiders, or even certain kinds of music. For Jey, it was David. Hell, who knows what he’s like now.

The place tilted slightly to the left. Jeydon held white-knuckled to the armrests. Once the plane evened out, Jey relaxed a bit. Flying out of Chicago was weird. He’d been driven there when his family moved, but flying, though faster, Jey opposed. Jey had already taken four trips to the bathroom, clearly annoying the man sitting next to him. Finally, the other man begged to switch seats with Jey. Jeydon clicked the red button on his seatbelt. The stupid thing wouldn’t come out, so Jey tried yanking it until it gave up. He would not let this piece of fabric out-smart him. As he pulled hard on the belt and it whipped up, the metal part hitting Jey’s right eye
“S**t” Jey said under his breath. He stumbled around a bit before he made it to the bathroom. As disgusting at it was, Jey put his head near the toilet seat, ready to barf his brains out.

Just as Jeydon came out of the stall, the pilot announced the plane would be landing soon and encouraging everyone to buckle their seatbelts. Jey smiled with a pinch in his stomach,
Almost over. He sat back down in his seat, clicking the belt that he despised so much. Digging his head back into the headrest, Jey white-knuckled the armrests again. The large aircraft slanted down toward the ground. The air pushed back on him, causing what little breath he had out of him. The plane jerked. Jey dug his short fingernails into the ends of the armrests. Calm down, Jey. Just. Calm. Down. A few more bumps and jerks came before the plane was finally on solid ground.

The flight attendants said good-bye to all the passengers with a huge smile. It amazed Jey in a sort. How could they stand this horrible mean of transportation? He could barely take it when he was sitting, how could these people literally stand it? The moment he got off the plane, he went hunting through his carry-on for his iPod. Apparently, they weren’t allowed to listen to music. He shoved the earphones in his ears as soon as he got hold of it. He turned to one of his favorite songs; Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold. One of the employees helped Jeydon find his luggage. Jey carried them outside, refusing to let anyone assist him. It took a good ten minutes to wait for a cab to even pull up. A thirty-something year old woman stood up to get the cab. If there was one thing he learned in Chicago, it was that if you saw a cab, you had to get there first, or it wasn’t yours. Jey grabbed his bags and sprinted toward the vehicle. Luckily, he got it, and the lady was left standing in anger. He knew it probably would’ve been the “right thing” to do if he let her have it, but he just couldn’t let that happen.

Drifting in and out of sleep, Jeydon made his way to his quaint little hometown. He stepped out of the car and handed the man the appropriate amount of money, plus a small tip for taking his bags out for him. Being half-asleep had its benefits. As the cab drove away, Jey looked around, taking in the sights of his elementary school. The playground was a bit beat up since he was last there, but it still looked as fun as he remembered. He could just picture the whole group playing tag and whatnot. Jeydon sighed as he realized that he never really planned where he would be staying for the next two months or so. Pulling out his iPhone—yes, Jey had a thing for the Mac products— he searched through his contacts. He stopped when he came to Jami’s number.
I wonder if it still works. Jey thought. He pressed send and waited as he heard the phone ring…

hey hey, beautiful,
the sunshine shines
oh oh so bright, alright.
Lay back I’ll spend the night just staring at you.
For every grain of sand,
that you drew me pictures in.
there was one for every time that my, heart,
dropped, again.

Βutterfly smiled as Mr. Acedos turned to face her, but was only a little upset that he would not allow her to speak of her nightmares to the class. Even though disappointment was the outcome of her question, Butterfly assumed it would be for the best if she were to keep those dark dreams between her and the man who allowed her to open up about such things. She had to check how she looked at her teacher, hoping that the other students would not suspect anything from the way the two spoke to each other. She highly doubted that they would. Who would think such a smart girl would be dumb enough to develop feelings for her own mentor? None. She looked down at her hands as Mr. Acedos continued to write on the board.

She obediently snatched a piece of paper from her notebook to sketch and label the graph. It was given to the class as a form of homework, but Butterfly was done within the last fifteen minutes of class. She did not want anything to get in the way of the study session at the end of the day. She and Mr. Acedos had plenty to talk about. She looked up from sticking the page in her book to find that Mr. Acedos was looking in her direction. Her face was hot in an instant, though his expression was sorry, not... Well whatever it should be if he were looking at her in a way a deep part of her wished he would. She blinked, then gave a small smile to assure the man that she was fine with his decision to wait to speak until after class.

The bell rang then, and Butterfly collected her belongings together slowly, trying to buy the time so that the other students would leave just her and Mr. Acedos to the empty room. Her lolly-gagging paid off, though she caught Carl scowling at her before turning his attention to Mr. Acedos. However, she managed to give him a wink, which roused his temper even more so as he eyeballed Mr. Acedos. The simple minded were just as simply ruffled. She could have blown him a kiss and he would still have been quick to boil over. Butterfly stuck her tongue out at the boy's back once he left the room with his hands in his pockets. What a little brat he was! Buttefly would be glad when he failed this class and was forced to drop out the second semester.

Her mood perked up as Mr. Acedos addressed her. She walked over to the front of his desk, looking up in to his eyes to give him her full attention. He put his hand on her arm, his voice lowering as he spoke of them meeting to drive to the university. Butterfly did not know how to respond to the question at first, then remembered that she had two critters to take care of before she could go any where. The half hour would give them both time to get the things they needed for the outing. Butterfly flashed back to her days in the asylum, her skin crawling at the memory. It would be awhile before those images would leave her thoughts and burrow themselves back in to the subconscious of her mind. She had made herself forget them before, and was sure the second time would be even more easy. She shook herself to grip the seemingly thinner boundaries of reality, hoping her discomfort was not noticed.

”I have to go home first. Kasma will throw a fit if I do not feed her. And then there is Krishna. He will more than likely find his own version of a toilet if I do not let him take a run outside.” She laughed at herself, hoping that Mr. Acedos would understand her dilemma. Once she was able to get a few chores done, she would be ready to leave. She was itching to find some answers, and could not keep still. Her feet rocked her back and forth as she awaited Mr. Acedos' answer. After he agreed, she wrote down her address for him on a piece of paper. She then turned to leave, but stopped in the doorway as he told her that she could tell him of her dreams on their ride to the university. The ones he had never heard before. She was starting to second guess her decision to do so. ”We will see how things go before I attempt that,” she said quietly, then stepped out in to the hall.

She was outside a few minutes later, ready to get home to her babies. After starting out in to the barren streets that surrounded the school, Butterfly thought of the things her and Mr. Acedos would discover on their visit. She hoped that the information would help. Krishna practically plowed the small girl over as she stepped in to the house. Butterfly laughed, then stepped out of his way so that he could do his business outside. Kasma purred around Butterfly's ankles as she made her way to the kitchen and sat her things on the counter top. She then took the cat food from the closet, poured some in a small bowl, and sat it down for the meowing Kasma. Butterfly made sure to fill Krishan's bowl before she would let him back in to the house.

After all that was said and done, she went to her room to change clothes. She threw on a half-sleeved shirt the color of purple grapes, and a pair of black khaki shorts. With her usual footwear in place, she took out her braids and ran a brush through her hair. This caused her blond locks to wave and curl around her face, and she was pleased with the result. It had been a long while since she had worn her hair down. After that she brushed her teeth, sprayed on some body spray she rarely used, then went to sit on her couch and wait for Mr. Acedos' arrival. She sunk in to the soft cushions of the couch, her eyes heavy with fatigue. She had barely slept the night before, her body was exhausted and her eyes were cloudy. She closed them just for a moment—only to rest a minute or two—but was sent to the dream world.

There was black, the field, an orange moon as round as ball, a cold breeze. She was dazed, her thoughts were sluggish, her body felt as if it were moving underwater. She was confused, then scared, and her eyes began to look about her, though it was hard for her to turn as quickly as she wanted to. She began to hear the whispers, the hissing, the many voices jumbled in to one. Her heart was pounding, her lungs were burning, and then there was silence. Dead. Silence. Butterfly stood in the field, listening to her own heartbeat in her ears and the shallowness of her breathing. Suddenly she was being pulled to the ground, her body sinking in to the grass beneath her feet. She began to struggle, scream, claw at the ground to pull herself free. It was no use. The eyes appeared in the ground, as red and sinister as they had been the night before. She screamed again, her eyes closing to escape the gaze of the creature's.

She called for help, but knew no one was there. She could no longer breath, her body was now buried to her neck as she was continuously being pulled under. She tried to breath, but it was no use—the weight of the dirt that surrounded her was too much for her lungs to lift. She felt her head going under, tried to scream, gasped for the air that she could not find. She was choking on grass, fear, panic. And then a knock woke her from her nightmare. She slid from the couch, crumpling to the floor as she continued to choke on her fear. She managed to get to her feet long enough to open the living room door to find Mr. Acedos, then dashed to the kitchen. She found her inhaler, sucked in as much medication as she could manage, and started to let out one painful cough after the other. Her coughing faded in to a wheeze, and she shuffled back to the front door to let her guest in. Krishna lumbered through the door first, then allowed Mr. Acedos to come in. Butterfly was pleased that her little boy enjoyed the company.

”Sorry...about...that, Mr. Acedos,” she pushed out through her raw esophagus. Butterfly did not want to go in to detail about why she was so disheveled, and avoided doing so by shifting through some papers on her living room table. After she had regained her voice more, she turned back to her teacher and smiled. ”I am ready to go whenever you are.”

The moon was bright, but it was dark in the forest. Ginny continued running, not stopping, occasionally looking behind her. Twigs snapped, a loud sound in the silence, making Ginny wince. Finally, Ginny couldn't run anymore and she slowed down to a walk, clutching her stomach. She couldn't believe what just happened. Her only friend...dead. The last image of Zoe, looking at her, with a grim smile and a determined look in her eyes...dead. Ginny stopped, suddenly nauseated and threw up suddenly. Leaning against a tree, she closed her eyes, feeling sweat running down her face. Sinking down and sitting on the hard, wet forest ground covered with leaves, she put her head between her knees and breathed in ragged breaths. Ginny's mind replayed over and over again, Zoe falling to the ground, hitting hard, the sound of breaking bones, Zoe's look of surprise, and finally...the death of Zoe. Ginny shuddered. Who was the man? She knew that he was looking for her, he could feel his stare, as she ran away from the orphanage. Ginny imagined him, a smirk on his face, as he stepped through the forest, looking for her...She had to go on. Propelling herself up, she proceeded to walk in the night, stumbling over branches. Finally, she reached a lake. Ginny couldn't walk anymore. Falling down, Ginny fell asleep...the last thing she saw was the moon, covered by the forest trees...

Go ahead. Try and TAME Me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heavy breathing, the soft beats of padded feet hitting the ground of the forest. A large black wolf swerved between trees and bushes. He soared easily over fallen logs, slowing down briefly enough for the rest of his pack to keep up. The pure white alpha female was right behind him, easily keeping up. Behind her, followed another female and male, both the traditional grey of the grey wolf. An elderly looking, timber colored female lagged behind with one other pack memeber and the pups. It was obvious that this pack was searching for something, and it had to be important if they were bringing their pups. The entire pack slowed to a stop, their noses to the ground and taking in the scents. The alpha male growled in frustration, and then threw his head back. The howl of the pack sounded through the area, and then it stopped. Their ears perked foward, waiting for an answering call.
The sounds of a scuffle was filling a once silent area. Then their was shouting. A group of hunters had stumbled upon a surprising discovery. A human girl, clovered only by tattered old clothes, crouched over a recently killed deer. She had turned to them, surprise evident on her soft, innocent like face. Though, it didn't look so innocent with all the blood that covered her face and stuck to her teeth. The deer had weird claw marks covering its body, like it had been attacked by something with blunt claws. A closer inspection at the girl, showed that her hands and nails were caked with blood. The girl's forest green eyes narrowed, and her lips pulled back in a horrible snarl. Her long black hair fell foward to frame her face, enhancing how she had just changed for an innocent looking girl, to a wild beast. The hunters, amazed that a girl was living like this, decided that they could get good money for her. There would be people who would love to try and break a girl like her into being a slave. So they attacked.
But what they weren't expecting, was how strong she was. AS they lunged for her, she had crouched down, her lips still pulled back in that horrible snarl. When one hunter got close enough, she sprang foward, teeth aimed for the neck. The two tumbled to the ground, her jaws locked around the hunter's throat. He gasped in surprise, and the female would've killed him if one of his friends hadn't kicked her hard in the side. She yelped in pain, rolling off the first hunter. She quickly regained her balance, and attacked again. But the hunters soon learned that all of them going at her at once, made it harder for her to attack. It didn't take long for one of them to wrap their arms around her waist while another was coming at her with a rope. She clawed and bit, but they were beginnig to overpower her. That's when the call of a pack of wolves hit the female's ears. She went absolutely still, listening intently. The hunters, curious about her sudden stillness, paused for a moment.
And then she threw her head back and let out a howl that should only belong to a wolf's mouth, not a human's. The hunters growled in anger, realizing that they had to hurry.
But it was too late for them.
The pack of wolves caught the female's howl. The alpha male snarled and bombed foward, followed by the alpha female and the other male. The pups, elderly female, and the other female stayed behind to wait.
The wolves ran fast and silently, and soon they were appearing next to the bustling area. They remained in the shadows for a moment, examing the activity. The female was thrashing against her captors, but they had managed to get a rope around her. They were in the process of carrying her to their carriage, when the wolves decided to attack. They sprang foward, teeth barred and furious snarls rising from their throats.
Some hunters swung towards the oncoming wolves, while the others rushed to get the thrashing wolf girl into the cage that was originally meant for animals.
