From a roleplay perspective, after 6 months (+?) of working and living with the Ghenzans, how would the Outsiders who had Impressed be viewed and treated? Six months is not a long time, by any means, but it is long enough to get the general measure of a person and for general opinions to change. Also, would Ghenzan Weyrling lessons follow the same basic lines as outlined here? Or did they learn differently?

Varies from person to person, so there really is no right answer. The general one, I suppose, would be they're more used to them but not warm towards them.
Ghenza is not the liberal and warm place like High Reaches is. Think if America suddenly not only allowed a touchy issue to pass, but the government embraced it. Abortion, for example. Every state now not only allows it, but the president is going, "This is how it is. Suck it up." (which is what Nalina is doing.)
In six months, you bet people would still be pissed off.
It might seem outlandish to compare new people coming in to an issue of that caliber IRL, but it isn't. Remember these are people raised having it drilled in their mind every single day that outsiders are not only lazy and horrible, but might end up killing them with a disease.
The younger ones would be more open-minded, as children often are, but there's still going to be a lot of hostility from the late teen+ generations (and perhaps some younger than that who are being heavily influenced by their parents, older siblings, etc.)
If Ghenza ever becomes kinder, it's going to take longer than half a year to accomplish and require more than just 'getting used to them'.
On the Weyrling issue, it can be assumed they followed that plan except they expected a lot more from their own Ghenza-born dragons.

A question on the comission dragons from Ghenza; it was said that they would be allowed to leave if they so wished. If they do decide to, will they already have gone, or would they only leave once they were fully mature? Thanks!

If they do decide to, will they already have gone, or would they only leave once they were fully mature? Thanks! They're already at HR. All of them should know how to go between well enough. Their humans would have been carried by an adult dragon, though.

With the sexuality restrictions now off, would it be able to have a character sort of shift their preferences, or would they stay the same but show more of an inclination?

Rown With the sexuality restrictions now off, would it be able to have a character sort of shift their preferences, or would they stay the same but show more of an inclination? We're going to say no to this because this is a new change IC, and dragons from before would still have those 'preferences'. If a bronze rider that Impressed before our next clutch (which is when this comes into play) suddenly started liking boys, for example, we'd ask the player to please respect the limits they agreed to at the time they Impressed that dragon. Same goes for golds and browns in the case of female riders. So, in brief, the 'new rules' only apply to the next clutch and onward, and it won't even be all the dragons that agree to it right away. It will be an evolution in a sense that we'll explain in more detail later.

As of now they've all been appointed IC but they're not doing anything yet until we give the word OOC because there's still a lot to get organized. XD;;
IC, you can assume the Weyrwoman / Weyrleader also need to reorganize (which they do) which dragons go in what wing / classes.

This may be more of a request than a question, but it's kinda a bit of both.
Last time we did a time skip (if I remember correctly) we had clutch specific threads in the plot thread where everyone could kinda give a sense of what'd been going on in the interim. At least, I thought we did. I could be misremembering. But, is that something we could maybe do/do again? I'd like to have a chance to work out where my characters stand in their classes and where they stand in relation to their clutchmates.

I can't remember if we ever did that or not, but we can absolutely do so now. There's a thread in the plot forum for every clutch now. smile

Question. If a person not of the Weyr is searched, and doesn't impress, and returns home, would they be allowed to return to the Weyr when the next clutch was on the sands? Specifically, to High Reaches? II'm thinking about Roni, specifically. I'll justify her staying at the Weyr if needed, but she's much more likely to have returned home.

Talked to Cheebs about this one to see what she thought, and she brought up a good point that it would be really hard to keep up with the records if candidates were moving back and forth, especially in High Reaches which is the largest Weyr both with player-count and NPCs (offscreen and onscreen). So, we're going to say candidates can go home if they don't Impress, but in order for them to come back they'd need to be searched again and there would be no guarantee of that happening.
