I've lived through... I'm not really sure but I believe that I am sixteen?

I tend to be... I am very shy since my interaction with others was very limited, and the scientists that were around me didn't like to talk much. I'm kind of socially ignorant and I'm not really sure what emotions are. I'm quiet but very caring but I admit that I am a bit of an oddity since my hair and eyes are such a bizarre color. I'm a fragile being and I need someone not only to protect me but to be a companion as well...
My tale begins with... This might sound strange but it all began when I was a precious gem. A group of doctors and scientists wanted to prove that a human being could be created from something as hard as a rock. Combining human DNA with the gem and left sitting in a pod for many years, the doctors had accomplished their goal. They named me after the gems they used and finally gave up teaching others how to pronounce it, so they all decided on the name "Tori". For years, they showed me to others in the same profession and tried to mimic the experiment again. All of the others were complete failures.
-One day, the scientists suggested that I be dissected for their research in order for them to achieve another being... That was the night that I ran away from the lab and the pod I was held prisoner in. I have been on my own for a couple of months now, always running from the ones who wish to capture me for their on selfish goals. I knew that I wasn't strong enough to fight them off and I didn't know how to make friends, so while I was running one day I came upon a huge marketplace that sold many different things, including other human beings. I knew then and there that I could find a protector as well as a friend in that huge place!!
I want a collar with... I would like someone who could protect me so I will be looking for someone strong. As long as they have the color Purple and the Shield Charm, then I don't care about the rest...

But what I really am is... A Gemstone made Human

Welcome to My Life!!
So it all started just like this... Believe it or not but my life started out as a few gemstones in the ground. A group of scientists wanted to prove to their community that a human being could be made from the stones in their pockets, so along with the gems and a strand of human DNA, I was placed into a pod where I sat for many, many years. Soon a fetus took shape and the doctors cheered and continued to watch me grow, the rate going very slowly, and once the fetus matured into a human baby I was taken out and given a name. Tourmaline Beryl. Named after the gems that I was created from. From infancy, I was tested and raised much like a normal child, save for the complete lack of human interaction and laughter. I was educated in what the scientists considered "important" things, like history, math, and English. They were impressed by my ability to learn and I was led a very sheltered life, not speaking to anyone but the men and women that ran tests on me.

Throughout my life, I was constantly shown off to the other scientists, who looked at me with great interest, and then came the great desire for the scientists to create another human from gems. All of their attempts was a failure and then all their gazes came to me. I soon found out that they wished to dissect my body, in hopes to correct their failed mistakes. A man in the lab who became my only friend helped me escape in the middle of the night. I was on my own for a couple of months and did considerable well for someone without any social skills. An elderly couple found me and gave me a small cottage to live in, and they treated me as their own family which was something that I never had. I lived there for a good three years and then it seemed my peaceful life went down the drain. The lab guards had found me and while I was trying to run, in order to get away I was captured but not by the lab. This weird thing was put around my neck and I was told that I was a slave. Of course I couldn't really understand what they really was, so I often bugged my slaver with questions until he finally got tired of me and sold me off to someone else.

For a couple of months the man who took care of me often screamed up at the sky as he wondered what to do with me, seeing as I couldn't cook or clean, and was often considered annoying because all of my questions. Eventually he figured out what to do with me. Telling me that I was going to go to another man who would teach me things to make people happy, I was very happy to go with the other group of girls! Now I'm just trying to make sense of this whole "slavery" thing and dream about what kind of teacher I will have.
Don’t hate me because of who I am... Because of the way my life started, my social interaction was on a very low and in the beginning I was considered a bit socially retarded. However, I'm very intelligent and with my thirst to know everything, I got around just fine even if it led to an awkward moment or two. Even now, I still don't understand some sayings and don't know what some things are, but I will find out soon enough! I'm a bit shy and will try to make friends to the best of my knowledge, seeing as I don't know how and emotions are still something that I consider confusing. I consider myself to be very kind and caring and will do anything to make anyone happy. My confusion might be annoying to some and I can only ask you to be patient with me.
