Having just gone on a wild rumpus through the watering hole to scare away birds and creatures of the like, A tall and stout sat licking down his mane. His chest heaved as he tired to catch his breath, but a smirk played over his maw. He hadn't felt that good in... a few minutes! The rush. Oh what a sweet rush. This is what he lived for. To be wild and crazy. To be free, no rules attached. To do whatever he wanted.

Letting out a bellowing laugh to no one but himself, he flopped down into the grass and began to roll around, flecks of dirt and blades of green stems now sticking onto his entire body. His tail thumped hard against the ground as he rolled to a stop on his back and stared at the sky.

The dark lioness wasn't surprised when she heard the stranger making a fuss in the distance. Over the rustle of the wind and the beating of the bird's wings, Vuxta could hear every wreathe of muscle, every breath of hot air. As usual, the stranger seemed oblivious to her presence. With the aid of her dark coat, she could walk right by and he probably wouldn't even notice. And they called her the blind one?

Only one way to test this theory. Vuxta hoped the stranger wasn't that oblivious. She's had a social craving ever since she was lost from her pride, and permanently separated from her first rogue friend. She'd come a long... long way since then.

Vuxta weaved effortlessly though the tall foliage and emerged on Vihrea'tuli's side of the savannah. She made no attempt to be stealthy, her heavy paws striking the earth like a giraffe's over sized hooves.
Will he notice? Will he greet me? The dark lioness almost hoped she'd go unnoticed, but she knew she'd regret passing up an opportunity to hear a voice.

For a few moments, the brute was aware of only his pounding heart and the sweet bliss of the high rush. As he rolled about onto his stomach, his ears twitched and a figure came into view. Dark delicate paws collided heavily with the ground, and the sleek black figure of a lioness came into view. A grin spread across his maw. Vihrea'uli had thought he was alone. Apparently he was wrong.

Flashing a charming grin, Vihrea licked a paw and smoothed back the tufts of his mane that hung over his eyes. Taking a deep breath to calm his beating heart, he soon spoke. "Well hello there. I had thought I was alone. Did I ...disturb you?" not that he really cared. He could do what he wanted. But she was pretty, and he could never be harsh to a pretty face.

Thumping his tail on the grass a few times, he sat up upon thick haunches and grinned at her again. It was then that he studied her face more carefully and realized...she was blind! A part of him was now curious, and he waved a paw in front of her face to test it.

Vuxta halted in her tracks as she was addressed. The need to express her happiness through a grin had vanished with her sight, but regardless, she was happy. Her voice certainly let it known, despite her persistently blank face.

"Not at all, I was just passing through." The dark lioness tilted her head to let her unkempt mane fall away from her face, revealing her cold, gray eyes. She knew the stranger was wondering about her condition by now. Completely oblivious to the paw waving in her face, Vuxta hoped her cloudy aimless eyes would be self explanatory. It was always a little awkward when she had to explain things verbally.

"You uh... Sure seem to be having a lot of fun. Out of breath, are we?" There was a smirk in her voice. "Or were you just wrestling with an invisi- ...inaudible beast?"

As soon as her mane fell away, Vihrea's thoughts were confirmed. She was blind. He waggled his toes in her face and grinned before letting out a little chuckle. He wasn't meaning to be rude, he was just...spirited. "Nah just having a bit of fun!" he said as he took another deep breath as it finally caught up to him. He was already beginning to wind down from his adrenaline rush and his toes kneaded the ground anxiously. He could tell he had made her happy somehow... at least slightly. That made him feel good.

He glanced around. He was expecting to see others with her. Maybe someone to guide her...an over protective male. Someone about to spring out and ensue in a giant epic battle of power over wits and skill over speed. Strength and cunning, dashing right...dashing left. Blow to the face, one duck and n** to the paws.... ok he had to stop himself. His mind was getting carried away as he was now in a crouching position, rear raised in the air and wiggling back and forth. He caught himself and made a slight coughing gesture. He was a grown male, not a cub. But darn it all did that sound appealing right now! "So what brings a babe like you out here?" he questioned in his deep rough voice, that was surprisingly gentle for someone who sounded like he was about to burst out in a viscous roar all the time.

The dark lioness tilted her head curiously as she listened to the shuffling of the lion. Just what was he doing? Pouncing around right in front of her? If the occurrence wasn't so extremely out of place, Vuxta might have chuckled.

Instead she took a step backwards to protect herself from a limb that might come crashing her way. But once the lion stopped himself and addressed her once more, Vuxta resumed her casual posture.

"Don't call me babe." She didn't intend to sound harsh, but the slightest of snarls might have appeared on her lips. Being given such a tender title only reminded her of home. An exotic variety of pain and joy wrenched in her gut.

Vuxta shook her head and quickly remembered the original question. "What brings me here.. ? I'm not certain. I was looking for my pride, but I've given up on that impossible quest a long time ago. Now I'm just surviving."

Vihrea was a bit taken aback. His playfulness had now been diminished and a thoughtful look glazed over his features. Tilting his head a bit, strands of his long dark mane fell over his eyes and he blew a puff of air up at them. "Sorry. I didn't mean to upset ya Darlin... uh...erm." he swallowed a bit. "I mean it with the most respect." he said, and he almost gave a bow before he remembered she was blind. Instead he shrugged his shoulders and re positioned himself upon his thick heavy haunches quite lazily. For this he was glad she could not see, because it was most unbecoming of a handsome male such as himself. Handsome in his own mind at least.

Shuffling his paws together a bit, he tore up a few chunks of grass and inspected the dirt and bugs stuck between his toes. "Your pride huh? Would you mind if I asked how you were separated?" he asked, genuinely curious. While he had no intentions of ever joining a pride himself, he often sought knowledge as to why others desired to be in one. And in this particular case, why she was away from hers.

Vuxta only twitched at the new gentle name. "Please, call me Vuxta." She couldn't imagine a better moment to exchange proper terms. "It's nice to meet you, sir." Despite the gruff tone of her voice, the statement was genuine. The lioness hoped this companion might decide to stick around a little longer than the others had.

"To make a very long story short..." Vuxta swung her head skywards as if to enjoy the cool breeze as she recalled the tragic memories. "My brother attacked me. Then everyone started smothering me, but all the noise was giving me a headache... so I went off on my own for a while... But I wandered too far. I fell asleep. And the next morning I was blind."

If the stranger hadn't figured it out already, now he does. It felt good to get that off her chest. Vuxta lowered her head, giving the ground a blank gaze as she pinned her senses on the stranger. It was so difficult to read a reaction relying on only sound and scent.

Vihrea frowned slightly, though she couldn't be able to tell otherwise. "I'm sorry to hear that Vuxta." he said, studying her empty gaze that seemed to be so ironically full of emotions. He straightened himself up and leaned a little closer. "Well... I can't say I've been one for prides...but..." he said as he started to think. Taking a large thick paw, he gently lifted up her head so he could see into her grey eyes. He was going to offer to take her back to her pride... if he could even find it... but he had just met her and he already knew he didn't want her to leave so quickly, so he changed his tactic. "Why don't you spend some time with me then, hmm? I'm a nice friendly guy...and you look like you could use a friend." he began, hoping to worm his way into a friendship with the pretty lioness. Maybe she'd even play with him! Games of course. "And well if you get board of me, hows about I help ya find your pride, hmm?" he offered on a side note though he rather quicky regretted that one. "Oh, and my name is Vihrea'tuli, but you can call me as you please." he said with a prideful thump of his tail.

He really had no clue why he just said or offered all of that. In his mind, he had always told himself being lone was better. No one to get yourself attached too in the end. No heart break, no nothing. But, for her, he simply couldn't resist a gentlemen like offer. However gentlemen like he was being was for her to decide. If she said no....well it was no skin off his back.

Vuxta listened intently to the othes' words. She wondered briefly about his own past, where did he come from and why he apparently had such a dislike for prides. The white paw pressed against her chin, and Vuxta instinctively pulled away. But she instantly regretted it.

The dark lioness swelled as the male piled on offer after offer. Just like the others had before she turned them down. She couldn't stand to be a leech - she hated such a creature. Back then she was useless. But now she could at least hunt on her own. She wasn't such a leech anymore, which is why she'd feel more comfortable accepting the lion's offers.

"Vihrea." For a moment, the lioness remembered how to smile. With a twitch the corners of her mouth rose to pierce her cheeks. "I would love to stay with you."
