She wished he was real though. She really liked his company.

Lost in her thoughts--and of that, she had many--she didn't notice him approach.
He approached silently, making sure to avoid any small objects that would give him away. He stopped for a long moment behind her, wondering idly if he would be able to touch her. What if he wasn't real?
Slowly he reached out to press his paw against her back.
It took her a moment to realize that something had touched her, but when she did, she leapt away, fur standing on end as she snarled and bared her teeth. Clearly freaked out, she back away from him, not seeming to see who it really was. "Go away, or I'll eat you!"
Chane dropped down, pressing his whole body to the ground and staring up at her with frightened eyes. He wasn't sure if he should try to speak to her or just turn tail and run. Surely though. He was real.
She let out a roar, but instead of attacking, turned and fled. She didn't go all far, just to the nearest bush and dove under it, shaking and quivering. She buried her face and started to cry quietly, tail curled about her as she tried to disappear into a little ball.
Something had touched her. Something very real.
Chane was frozen to the spot for a long, long while. He wasn't sure what had just happened. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what had just happened. He was fairly certain that if he moved he'd find out. He really, really didn't want to move.
She continued to cry long past the point where she had forgotten why she was crying anyway. Climbing out from under the bush, she got labourously to her feet, and started walking. She'd forgotten everything, the apparition, the thing that scared her, what she had been doing at the time, everything. It was long gone, so she just wandered around.
Chane was still in a wide eyed panic when she emerged from the bush. What was she doing? Was she going to attack him? Was it wrong for him to stay? Should he run now? Was it too late? He wimpered and pressed himself closer to the ground.
She didn't notice him at first, but when she did, her mouth quirked into a smile. "Apparition! I'd almost forgotten about you~~" she said cheerily as she practically galloped over to him. "What are you doing?"
He looked up at her, marveling at her sudden mood shift.
"Hiding," he said, almost honestly. "I nearly thought you were going to kill me..." He very certainly thought she'd been about too.
"Kill you? Why in the world would I kill you, apparition?!" she cried, looking very distressed.
"I..." he hesitated, swollowing hard. "I um... Touched you're back. You said you'd eat me!" Ears back and low to the ground he seemed to be honestly distressed.
She looked confused. Very confused. Sitting down, she stared at him, trying to remember what he was talking about. She tried hard, she tried very hard, but everything was too hazy. It wouldn't come to her.
Frowning more, she moved a little bit closer to him. He was upset, and she didn't like it. "I'm sorry, apparition.."
He backed off, uncertain if it was wise to trust her appology immediatly.
"You can be confusing, sometimes..." he muttered looking up at her through his scraggly mane. Sometimes he doubted his wisdom in staying around her.
She gave him a very forlorn look and sighed softly. "I know. I'm sorry, Apparition. I really wish I wasn't.." Her ears drooped and she looked down at the ground.
He sighed and relaxed so his chin rested on the ground. It was impossible to expect reason from her, so what point would there be to linger on it? "Are you hungry? Want to go hunting?"
