Hello fellow roleplayers, I am here to let you all know that I, the newest ((and handsomest)) member of the Guild is designing a roleplay. I'm going to knock your socks off with it, and I'm here to test the waters, get a feel for who I'm gonna be playing with, who's active, and how to deal with you. While the Roleplay is being constructed I want all of you to lay witness, and offer up whatever suggestions and concerns you may have. I'll tell you what my basic premise is at this point, and the title, it's call Aeturnus Miles ((Rough Latin for Eternal Warrior)) and it'll be awesome. So I kindly request that all of you get on your knees and start the worship! Oh and this will also serve as the OOC thread for the RP once it get's started.*
"The year is 2062 and the world has changed in the last fifty years, starting with the worldwide dissolution of a military presence. People thought the relief of an active military would change things, relieve worldwide conflict.... it didn't, if anything things got worse. Battles were still fought, battles would always be fought, but it wasn't about armies anymore, it was about people, and weapons.
The world ceased to be run by nations, corporations control the globe now, national conglomerates that use their wealth and power to manipulate events in their favour, specifically by hiring mercs, men who held no allegiance to a nation, but fought for cash alone, this was the way battles were fought now, small scale skirmishes with no rules, warnings, declarations of war, it was like open espionage, but with a lot more collateral damage. The streets are the battlefields of this new world.
Weapons changed, and evolved, mechanical warriors, and battle suits are frontline equipment now, some mechs stand over fifty feet tall and can level cities with ease. Genetic enhancements and mechanical limbs are commonplace for soldiers now, if you don't have nanos coursing through your veins and sub-dermal armour under your skin you might as well drop yourself right now, or climb in the biggest god-damn mech in sight.
Earth is a battlefield on the verge of collapse, but the seven ruling corporations keep things stable, at least as stable as the can be. Earth is a slum these days, and it exists practically without law, nobody cares what happens, as long as the corporations can still get there hands on the precious resources that keep them in power.
With corporations clawing for control and seeking to destroy each other by any means necessary, whether through political, economic, or military means. They all own their own private forces of course, but they can't compare to mercenary class soldiers. Merc is not just a job anymore, it's a title, and a warrior who holds the title of Merc is considered a one man army by most standards.
The only warriors who can keep up with Mercs are called Ordinators, they're a class of warrior that exists for the sole purpose is to keep Mercs in check, if a Merc goes rogue or fails to complete a contract, Ordinators hunt them down and bring em back, or kill em', whatever it takes. Ordinators operate in squads to keep up with Mercs, they'd be unstoppable otherwise.
There is one Merc in particular, infamous, and dangerous, hiring him is considered a crime by most Corporations, dirty tactics, nobody gets him on their payroll unless they've got nothing to lose. He's known as The Beast, and every Ordinator, Merc, and Private army in the world is now hunting him down. Who is The Beast? Well who do you think has been talking this whole time? Signing off, *Fzzztch!*.....*Warning: Many of my comments, particularly those relating to me being awesome at everything, were intended to be humorous ((But are based on true events)) maybe you don't find it all funny, that's possible ((Not possible cause I'm a comic genius, and everything I say and do is amazing)) and should be taken as such. If you took it seriously then what the hell dude, come on. ##Sub-Warning: The bracketed comments in the previous warning were also jokes, so again don't take them seriously. I was going to include some more incredibly arrogant statements but I felt that I would have then started myself on an infinite loop. &&Sub-Sub-Warning: The warnings are lame and possibly make the joke lame, however I deemed them necessary because the internet lacks the ability to properly portray tone and people were actually taking my jokes seriously. %&#xSu;b-Sub-Sub-Warning: Dinosaurs actually had feathers, true story.

Sounds good so far, I used to be in a post-worldwide catastrophe with mecha that, from the sounds of this, was a bit alike. I'll probably join. The last rp in this guild I was in died, I was the second to last person to post. I usually get on at least once a day and try to post as much as I can.

Wow, right off your first post. Well, at least with the warnings people know what to expect from you now.
Careful though. <_<
The RP sounds neat. If you get more people interested in here you could start working on it. We've had a few post-apocalyptic roleplays if I remember correctly, but none with mechas so that's a bit of a good change! (Wooh, mechs! o/ )
I'd consider joining.
P.S.: I liked my dinosaurs back when they only had scales. Oh well. =(

It's semi post-apocalyptic, semi-sci-fi. Mechs are a part of it but they aren't the main part, not everyone is gonna be a mech pilot, in fact for the sake of each character being unique there will probably only be one player who is a mech pilot. Also keep in mind the action and style of this RP is insanely over the top, many mercs can take out mechs on hand, expect lot's of guns, explosions and people sailing through buildings.
I know it's not exactly implied by the narrative but I also want this RP to feature a lot of comedy, I like humour, it makes RPs so much more enjoyable, this idea is supposed to be 50% a** kickin' 50% humour. Quirky and exaggerated characters are much appreciated. If I get at least one more person vouching that they will indeed join I'll get started.
Keep in mind I'm a very selective person, I'm only gonna allow a small number of player's in cause I think a big group get's out of hand and waters down the story. Let's say five for now, maybe more depending on what happens. I know this is a place for inexperienced roleplayers as well as highly experienced advanced players, well that's fine, all I care about is A) an effort to try and meet my standards as well as improve, and B) creativity, I don't care how much you can post, I care about how interesting your character and overall writing is.

Mechas are still great. =(
Having a small group of roleplayers is fine, if not actually better. As you said yourself, a large group of people can make things go out of hand. Controlling how many characters can be the same thing is good as well. Creativity's good, I like creativity! Or well, at least differences from one character to another within the RP.
Sounds like you have something great going on here. I'm pretty sure your RP could become pretty huge if done correctly. You have good elements around, you just need to make them work together nicely.

Heh, sci-fi, mechs, and humor? Gosh, Rid, I think you found your roleplay. The humor seems very Deadpool-esque. =P
Good luck on the roleplay! I won't vouch for a character, as I have already been struggling with the ones I have regarding my schedule. But it sounds like you've got it. I really only joined this place to spite some other guy but I think I like it here. By the way just an announcement that I am open for OneXOne Rping all the time, and I have a great many other ideas that are just as awesome as this one, so if interested hit me and we'll see what we can do.

Well you can always make the rp first so more people can get interested, and open it once you have another rper, then close it to new people. I doubt everyone reads the ideas before joining a rp.

When the guild's renovations are done, you can post a thread advertising your new roleplay instead of just trying to do so in the OOCs. Since it'll be on the main page, chances are it'll be seen by more people. wink

I appreciate the invite to this roleplay, but I'm already too full with my schedule and the number of roleplays I have.
However, I'll consider the one on one. Once we get the guild more stable and the semester ends, I'll see where I'm at with time.
Who knows, I might have a ton of free time soon and be able to participate in more roleplays.

Alright she's open, and I've done everything I can until I get some people in here. Also I want everyone to remember, be active here in the OOC, there is gonna be a lot of plotting and such done here so it pays off to stick around. Fingers crossed, otherwise an entire weekend of effort is about to go down the drain.
