Another day, another class, and this time another student that he knew well and rather liked, "Drez, eh?" He murmured to himself as he looked the chart over before smiling. He'd taken a swimming class with him before, they'd had fun, and Drez had made some friends from the looks of it. This time though it would be a one on one class since he was older and a different sort of class. It was one that he had done several times before, had fun with, and enjoyed wanted his students do.

It was a scenting class, he would get some cloth balls, spray them with one of five perfumes, and then he would hide them among one of the classrooms. Today he picked an open, grassy terrain room. Since his student was blind he didn't pick a classroom where he would bump into things or risk getting hurt since he would feel guilty if that happened. Alright... lets see... A short time later the class was set up and he moved to the door to the terrain room to await his student, reading over the boy's chart while he waited. Ah, would you look at that... his dragon had hatched. Interesting, he had to say he was curious to see what sort of dragon a blind sea snake would end up with. Guess he would see soon enough.

Orpheus gave a smile when he heard the door open up, turning to look over at the pair and he couldn't help but to smile, "Wow, haven't you grown since I last saw you." Orpheus said, walking over to him before he looked at his student and then to the interesting dragon that was there next to him. He looked the pair over for a moment before nodded, "Quite an interesting dragon you have there, isn't she a pretty thing." He praised her.

"I hope that your ready for a fun game today." He said to Drez, "We are going to be working with your sense of smell... though not exactly smell... well you know, the snake thing where you gather the scent out of the air with your tongue is what I mean." He decided to explain further so his student would know what it was that he was talking about. He knew he didn't know the name of that specific skill, he wasn't the smartest of the teachers but he had a lot of fun with his job and his students seemed to enjoy his classes which was all that really mattered if you asked him.

"I'm glad to hear that your keeping up with your swimming." He said, it was always good to learn that his students were taking the classes that he had with them to heart and having fun with the skill even after they were done learning from him. He looked down at the dragoness as she shuffled over to him and he gave a chuckle, lowered his hand down to scratch her under the chin, "Wow, soft." He'd never thought he would meet with a soft, fluffy dragon before. What a fun new experience.

Ah, yes. But they were here for a class he reminded himself. He couldn't spend all day playing with the dragon and petting it... alright he couldn but that wasn't exactly his job. He gave a smile as he reached down the ground, picking up a bag, "I have a bag in my hand, in it is five cloth balls, each of them has a different scent on it. I want you to reach in, pick one, check the scent. Out in the classroom I have hidden another five cloth balls, each matched with one in the bag."

"Trick is you need to find the twin to the one that you pick out of the bag and bring it back to me. Do that five times and you will pass." He said, giving a smile.

Orpheus gave a very pleased sound when Drez not only caught on to what the game called for but that he was also able to find one of them with relative ease. Then again the orange one as the one closest to where they were standing. He would see if it got more complicated with the slightly more well hidden ones... but at the same time since Drez wouldn't be replying so much on his eyes that he might actually be better at this test then some of his other students that he'd had do this same sort of test. Excellent! He wanted to compare them he thought to himself.

"Good job, now try that again with the next one that you pick out. Some of the scents will be harder to track... well maybe, a guess on by part, and some of the cloth balls are hidden farther out into the classroom, do your best thought!" He cheered is student on, taking the two orange scented items from him so they wouldn't mess with his senses while he tried to track other things.

Orpheus watched quietly as Drez went out after the other ball, taking in the way that he searched for things. It was interesting, much different from what the kids who were using their eyes did. His lips turned up into a smile, "Your doing very well, Drez." He said, taking the next set of lily scented spheres from him. He looked them over before he smiled, putting them with the orange ones, "Very good, that is two of five, only three more to go. Are you ready for the next one?"

Reaching down to the ground be picked up a thermos, "If you would like a small break I brought some water for you to drink from." He offered his student, giving him a smile as he held it out to him, rattling the ice inside so that Drez would know exactly where it was.

The red haired teacher did his best to keep from laughing at the response from Drez when he was stuck trying to find the ball that had the ninety-nine cent cologne on it, "Sorry about that one, I was trying to find very distinct scents for the class." He explained, watching as Drez was quick to go and find this particular ball so that he could get rid of them. The pair, once handed back to Orpheus, were put with the other two sets of scented spheres.

"I promise that is the worst scent among them... well unless the other two scents are those that you wouldn't like for reasons other then the scent being to strong or cheap smelling." He said, after all Drez might not be a fan of the scent or taste of cinnamon or vanilla so he might not like the two still left in the bag, "Two more to go."

Orpheus smiled, "Well I am glad that its not the worst thing that you have smelled or else I might feel a little guilty." He said with a laugh, watching as the fourth ball, the cinnamon one, was taken from the pouch and Drez went off in search of it. This one seemed to cause him a little bit more trouble since it wasn't as easy to find as the first three, a false trail was made with the cinnamon scent but the ball itself would smell much stronger then just a trail of it. He was quiet as he watched, wanting to cheer Drez on but knew that would only help the snake find the ball more easily.

After a time he was able to find it and Orpheus smiled, clapping his hands, "Very good!" He praised the snake boy, taking the pair of cinnamon scented items from him, then held out the pouch, "Last one." He told him, giving a bright smile and while Drez couldn't see the smile he could easily hear it in Orpheus's tone of voice. It was obvious that he got excited by teaching such classes and watching his students learn, unlike some of the teachers who weren't as personable he was a very open and friendly man.

There was another chuckle from Orpheus as Mora went to steal the ball that Drez was carrying only to realize that it was in no way tasty or made for eating. Well at least she spit it out instead of reflexively swallowing as he would have felt awful if he had to bring her to Peri to look at, to make sure that the dragon would be alright.

He held his hand out to take the last pair of scented balls from Drez's hand before he gave a smile, "Excellent job Drez. I am glad to see that your skill in this area is quite heightened." He said, that the boy had such a keen sense of smell was likely due to having lost one sense, he'd heard the others made up for it and now he knew that it was true and not just a rumor, "You did very well and are free to go if you want or the two of you can play in the classroom until your Mother arrives to pick you up. I will taking some notes down on your clipboard so I will be able to keep an eye on the two of you if you decide to stay."

Reaching down he gathered the various spheres, putting them back into the pouch and tied it to his belt, handed the thermos to Drez once more, then moved to fetch his clipboard and pen so that he could set to taking down notes about how the class had gone.
