Other distinguishing features: *If* he's not wearing a school uniform, he'd probably still wear something that could be mistaken for one, like a button up shirt or a sportcoat.

Magical stage 1: Looks: I'd prefer to let the artist have fun with the magical side. Power: Jonathan's powers would be based on the power of words. There are a number of ways this could manifest, depending on what's approved.
-The written word: Jonathan could have the ability to use his pen to write a line of poetry in the air and have it materialize into something. create an illusory effect as he described in the line.
-Bardic muse: Jonathan could have the ability to recite lines of poetry to buff his allies or debuff his opponents by manipulating their emotional states.
-Papercut: Jonathan could have the ability to manipulate pieces of paper into effective tools, offensive and defensive.
