Estella Dorris has invested years in her acting, seeking to do as many shows as possible. Though her age had altered her beauty and changed her voice, the woman continued to find what work she could in the small world of Gaia. As she was young, she worked on being the beauty of every story, trying always to be the head actress in each play. When she moved on to her middle years, she worked toward being the elder role-model of the youths, showing wisdom while using beauty to support her messages. When she started to wrinkle around her eyes, she moved on to be the mother figure, always the support and honest one in each story.
But now, as she reached the age of fifty, she knew that acting was something she had to move away from. Now, she wanted to pass her art along to others, to teach in her own home. With what money she earned from her work, she bought an old opera house in Durem, hiring help to convert the downstairs into a beautiful stage and the upstairs into her home.
Yet, with her classes starting up, it didn't feel like enough to the woman. Estella wanted more in her life than fleeting students who would learn and leave. She wanted children of her own to raise and hopefully watch one day from the crowd as they were the stars of the show.
So once she had time and her house was complete, she looked around for an adoption agency that would fit her needs. She wanted something that called to her, and often passed up many that didn't seem to fit. That is, until she found a strange DNA lab that seemed to mix the strangest combinations to create children.
It called to Estella, and she was determined to adopt not one, but two children from this place and give them a home. So, she wrote to them and set up an appointment, and now stood on the doorstep of the lab, more nervous than she ever had been while on stage.

At the door she was greeted by a young woman with large brown hair and big dark glasses. "Oh, hi!" Apoxi said, peering up at Estella. "We only had one appointment today so youuuuuuuuu're Estella Dorris, right? You wanted to see about getting two kids?"

Estella took a look at the girl, running her eyes across her features before returning the smile with her own, warm one, "Yes I am, but you may call me Stella if you would like."
She gently moved into the Lab, surprised at how warm it appeared, but liking it none the less, "I would like to get two children if possible. I have pleanty of time on my hands, and am looking to raise some children to the best of the ability at my theater." She brushed a hand over her head, making sure the brown strands were still set in place before turning toward Apoxi.
"Speaking of which," She added as she pulled out a flyer, "Even if this doesn't work out, I would like to open an invitation for any of the children and there parents to attend my classes or put on a play...it's the least I can do for all of your hospitality so far...Hopefully, however, we'll be able to work this out, and my next inventaiton will be to one of my future children's plays."
She seemed to talk on and on, clearly with a sense of nervousness as she constantly moved her hands.

Apoxi didn't seem to mind all the chatter, used to those sorts of things by now. "Of course, of course. Do you have any preferences as to what sorts of gender or qualities you'd like in a child?"

Estella was ready for this question already, "I was looking for a male and a female...both with very distinct personalities. I dont mind taking ones who look a bit different, as long as they are unique and will provide me with company as I get older."
She smiled at the thought, before adding, "I would love for at least one to possibly be a canidate for the arts, such as acting or the such, but I do understand they are still pretty young to know..."

Apoxi nodded a few times and showed the woman towards some of the rooms. In one of them, a little white naga boy was petting a little dragon that was stretched out on his stomach, a dragon featuring soft gold wings and orangy scales. His hair was dark and his face marked with red kabukiish paintlike markings.
"He's got certain special needs but he's a good boy."

Estella walked behind Apoxi, looking at the doors that passed but not daring to glance inside unless instructed. When they got to the snake-like boy, Estella moved closer to get a better glance. The boy's eyes were closed, face markings almost looking like tears over his mask-like growth. His tail was wound around his body and the small dragon almost looked like a doll.
Taking a breath, she became entranced with his soft features and dark hair and found it difficult to look away. Finally, she turned back to Apoxi, curious on what special needs he needed.
"Special needs you say?" It was obvious he had a tail instead of legs, but she had a feeling that wasn't what was 'special' about him.

"He's blind, for all intents and purposes." Apoxi stated calmly, indicated the strange eyes and markings. "The little critter with him is being raised and trained to assist him visually. He will require a lot of love and patience, but he's a bright boy and of good lineage."
"If you wish to meet with him, you may, provided you don't promise anything you don't intend to keep.'

Estella paused at the offer from Apoxi, wishing indeed to go inside, but unsure what she meant about promises. Taking another long look at the boy and his dragon, she stepped back and let out a sigh.
"I understand the challenges, and am very much willing to take on anything that I may face since I have plenty of time now to do so...He is just...he calls to me..." She let out with a short chuckle, shaking her head.
"I would like to meet with him, but I shall I look at the other children as well before I do so? I do intend to keep my promise and leave with two to give them both a part of my home.

"That's understandable. I just meant that if you go in and say you are going to take him home, don't go deciding you're not later is all." Apoxi explained, "It's just a precaution to warn people of that. Anyway, we can go see others first if you want, or go in and say hi to him now. It's up to you."

Estella nodded before looking to the door again, "How about we look at the other children first..."
She intended to take the child home, but knew she should do another glance through first before having any sort of interaction.
"Since he is a boy...do you have any girls available as well?"

Apoxi gave her a funny look for a moment before shaking her head, "Yes, we have plenty of girls. Right this way." she led the woman past a bunch of small rooms where children were sleeping or playing games.
They passed a few doors with girls, most of which were playing games or snoozing. They eventually passed an empty room with a little outside enclosure on the back, where a small dark horse girl was resting under a tree, a little dragony thing floating around behind her.

Estella looked through each room, her mind still on the 'special' boy that could not see. She was certain that he was the one she wanted, the one who would help him grow and thrive in the world despite his disability.
When they walked past the larger room, she paused again, her eyes on the half-horse girl. She bit her lip lightly as she looked over the girl, noting the dark nature that seemed to surround the child but also draw the soon-to-be guardian in. Yes, this was number two.
"What of her...she seems to call to me just as the young boy does..."

"She's the product of the Dryad Black Ivy and the Nightmare we keep here. She'll most likely have dream powers when she's older but she's a decently behaved child for the most part. The only issue you'll have to think about with her is needing space for her to run - she may be small now but as she grows, she'll have the lower portions of a full sized horse, and so will require special rooming and such, as stairs are going to be an issue."
