There is no such thing as American anime... only in Japan can you find it. There's anime INFLUENCED cartoons in America, but anime and cartoons are basically the same.

Anime can only be from Japan. If it is not, then it is just an animation.

There are American dubbed animes but they are originally japenese. The closest American show that I can compare to an anime is Avatar The last air bender.
