"Great. I'm lost again!" Aryon grumbled to himself. He wasn't honestly surprised to find himself in unfamiliar territory anymore. It was a regular occurrence and he was sure that in a few years he would benefit by knowing almost every nook and cranny in the land. Until that time however, he was once again lost.
Scanning his surroundings, he decided that as long as the trees stayed coniferous he would be fine. At least he was still near the mountain he had last been on...hopefully. A cold wind blew through briefly and he shivered out of habit more than being cold. He blew out through his nostrils and could barely see a hint of vapor. It wasn't that cold, he scoffed to himself.
With a sigh he began walking again. There was no point in staying in one spot at this point, he was bound to run into someone eventually that knew where they were.

Sato had felt a little overwhelmed with her new extended family, they were all very sweet and loving and thankfully with the distraction of Zeeke's pregnant sister Sato found herself pretty much outshone, but that was fine. Sato loved Zeeke but she wasn't one for all the attention of such a busy family, for as long as she could remember it had been just the three of them, Sato, Arabella and Daddy. But at Eden there were three generations of members plus more on the way... she felt crowded. That was why she had ventured down the mountain path, it was tricky without Zeeke to guide her but since her wing was no longer broken -thanks to the care of the members of Eden- it was much easier and less painful than her first journey on this path. For that she was thankful. Soon Sato was in the forest, enjoying the sounds of the nature around her, the gentle rustle of the breeze through the winds, the animals singing their merry songs and playing in the sun and of course the soft trickle of water near by. It was very different from her home, her home was probably a two day flight from here.... she wondered if her father missed her, or mabe her sister did. She had left without a word, hoping to spare their feelings... oh how wrong she had been, she saw that now. Saw the reaction each of the members of Eden had upon their faces as they saw that Zeeke had returned -of course, some of their surprise had been that he had not returned alone, something that confused Sato a little. What had he been like before? Or was he still the same? She didn't know but made a note to ask someone when she returned. Sato would return, she just needed to time to think. The thought popped into her head just as she heard the deep voice of a stallion or some male creature. She froze, reminded all too well of the dangers that lurked within these words, despite her fears Sato knew she had to say something.... discover the source. She was no coward. Voice slightly shaky she called out; "Who--ose the--re??"

Aryon startled at the sound of another being in the woods. Perhaps they would know their way around! He went a few more feet forward and saw the mare who had spoken.
"Hello! Here I am," he started, nearly tripping over a rock, "Aryon at your service...you wouldn't happen to know the area, would you?"
Aryon looked at her hopefully after recovering from his near stumble. Hopefully this mare could be his lead out of the area. He felt as though he'd been going in circles...that tree over there seemed mighty familiar...

Sato had asked 'whose there' but through her stammering nerves it must had sounded like 'where are you' or something similar. As the owner of the voice approached, the soft crushing of leaves and bark under the barers hooves Sato found herself intreguied.
Her head turned automatically in the direction of the voice just intime to see a stallion nearly trip over a rock. It took a lot of effort to stiffle a laugh that threaten to comsume her.... it was rare to see a stallion stumble, and when they did they usually saw it as a great insult if you pointed it out to them -or at least that had been her experience, still she couldn't stop a question escaping her as she concern filled her brows. "Are you ok?" It was true that this stallion could be out here hunting creatures like her, and that he could infact be trying to trap her but still Sato wanted to pass forward the kindness she had been shown by the Imp herd.
Then the stallion introduced himself, Sato felt her cheeks burn red.... had she really believed he would ever try to hurt her? When here he was offering his service to her.... although Sato had to admit she didn't know what that was. Yes, Sato was more than aware she was pretty, more than aware that she was considered a 'catch'. But still she had never had a stallion offer his 'services', whatever they were.
The question about the area took her by surprise, he was lost? Sato had only recently come to the area but she was sure she could find the path again if she needed to. "I am Sato," she said, unsure if she should have said 'mate to Zeeke' or not, she had never had a mate before... or a long term boyfriend for that matter so she was niave when it came to what to do. Shrugging the concept away she continued, "I know a little of the area... where is it you are trying to get to?" Her features where soft and lit by a gentle smile as she watched and waited.... observation was your greatest weapon if you used it right.

Aryon was a bit nervous of asking strangers for directions, but had been lost so many times of late that he was quickly growing used to the normal responses. Most of the other soquili he spoke to fell into a range from polite directions, sometimes eager or unsure, all the way to angry attacks. He was relieved that the mare he had managed to find seemed to be of the nicer variety, "I'm fine, thanks. Just...stumbled a bit, that's all. Stupid rock..."
Once asked where he wanted to go he had to think for a moment. He didn't want to go anywhere in specific...just not be lost anymore. He eventually wanted to make his way back to his mate, but he wasn't sure where she was either. "I'm not exactly sure...I just know that I've been going in circles. Perhaps off the mountain would be nice?" He scuffed the ground with a front hoof in embarrassment at how thoroughly he was lost.
It was frustrating being so directionally challenged. Ellette was his mentor and she was always telling him how he should pick a place and stay there but there were so many interesting things in the world! He had originally gone into the mountains just wanting to see what it was like. At times like this he thought Ellette might just be on to something.

Sato watched the stallion and had to hide a chuckle as he cursed the rock he had nearly tripped over. Instead she looked away and into the trees... she didn't want to offend someone so close to Eden when she didn't have much right to be here. Softly she said; "I am glad you are ok."
Then he spoke again, she lifted her head to see him once more. Shock evident on her features. He didn't know where he was going? Just wandering and exploring? It was so familar that she felt her heart stop; before she had fallen in the hole and met Zeeke, Sato had had every intention of roaming, exploring and discovering something new. Of course she had found that in Zeeke, she had never met a Angeni before -let alone someone who was a member of a herd. It was new and different, and Sato had to admit rather overwhelming. She looked up at the mountain, she knew the stallion wanted to get away from it but for some reason Sato thought going up would be a good ideas, so she said.... "If you don't know where you want to go.... why don't we go up the mountain a little?" She turned back to the stallion, smiling again for the distraction and much smaller group. Sato could deal with groups of one to three, beyond that everything becomes overwhelming. "Maybe we can see both a way out, features you need to look for and even something for you to aim for?" Sato had always been taught to seek hugher ground, but perhaps that was because she was a winged and this stallion wasn't?
Either way, being higher would allow for a better view of the whole area.

Aryon shuffled in embarrassment at the shocked look he could see on Sato's face. It was a common reaction among those he met. Most laughed at him, because who would become so lost as to not know where they were going either?
He supposed that in part, he was drifting. Looking for something that even he didn't know what it was. He'd spent about three months with Ellette, training to be a warrior after they had survived a winter together. At first he had been embarrassed to share a cave with another mare besides Gypsy. He felt that it was cheating somehow. However, the more time he spent with Ellette the more he realized that there would never be anything of the sort between them. She was far too honorable and he would never do that to his mate.
Aryon supposed in part he was looking for Gypsy. He knew sort of where he had seen her last but who knew if she was still there? For that matter...he didn't know where 'there' was anymore.
Shaking himself from his thoughts, he listened to what Sato had to say. Go up the mountain? He had just come down from there, but it couldn't hurt. When he had been among the peeks he hadn't really thought to look down on what was below...the mare had good ideas!
"You know, I've been all over these mountains over the last few days. Not ONCE did I think to look at the surrounding lands! Sure, why don't we?" he shook his head and muttered to himself, "Why didn't I think of that?"
He briefly wondered if this lack of sense was the reason he was lost so often...oh well.
"Lead on then. I've no idea where I'm going at all."

Sato smiled and nodded polietly as the stallion spoke, it seemed he liked her idea -maybe this little adventure of hers out into the real world had helped her after all?
"My name is Sato by the way." She looked back towards the route she had just come, she couldn't lead him to the herd -she would do nothing to endanger her new family. Especially not Zeeke. Although he hadn't actually directly asked her, after listening to the traditions and values of the herds it was clear that those of Eden only mated for life, and since Zeeke had taken her own -be it that she was injured or not- when he had taken no other... paired with the fact that he told her he loved her more than once AND found her the beautiful green necklace that now swung around her neck.... it would point to them being mated. An idea that didn't upset Sato as she had once suspect it would.
No, it was quite the opposite. She was.... happy. Truely happy. For once in her life she was pleased with the situation she found herself in.
Now she would pay forward the herds kindess by helping the stallion beside her. In a playful tone, and with a quick wink Sato couldn't resist some gentle teasing as she asked "So.... Mr. Directionally challenged. Do you remember your name?" Sato wasn't trying to embarass or upset the stallion, but instead make light of the situation.
She found a good path ahead of them with a quick scan, and from her flight down she knew it lead away from the herd lands. Perfect. If she was right it was only a slight incline, making it a gentle walk. "This way then." She said before setting forward. She pulled her wings to her side, fluffing them up a bit to help insulate her slender body from the cold breese that threatened to chill her.
Sato was not a creature of silence, she liked to talk.... even as she walked, "Tell me about yourself."

Aryon blushed at forgetting to ask the mare's name and give his own in turn. He had been so eager to stop traveling in circles...ah well. It was too late now. Sadly, this was a familiar scene. He smiled sheepishly to himself, sometimes he would leave someone's company and realize that he didn't know there name after hours of talking to them.
Ellette had nearly beaten him up during the first days of their acquaintance when she finally demanded to learn his name.
"My apologies, Sato. I am Aryon." he introduced himself, obediently following the mare up the slight plane that was the beginning of the vast mountain range above.
He ignored the breeze with an ease born of necessity as he contemplated something to tell the kind mare who was helping him.
"Well. Let's see. I guess to start, I like apples. Only the especially red ones though...which is why my favorite color is red." he said in a teasing voice, "How about you?"
He didn't mind sharing his past with anyone who might be curious. Least of all ones who helped him. It was more a matter of playfulness that he gave her the trivial information.

"Aryon. A pleasure to meet you.... though I must say Mr. Driectionally challenged suits you much better. I think the meaning suits as well... means something like... one who had no sence of direction or some such." She said with a slight chuckle and a wink again, she supposed her behaviour could be classed as flirting, though to her it was nothing of the sort. Just play. Sato liked to play.
Plus, Sato was not niave, she knew she was a stunning looking mare -and sometimes she felt it was because of that fact that unmated stallions believed she was flirting. They wanted to see something out of nothing.
The slight incline was welcomed by her lazy muscles, after being forced to rest for so long it was nice to have a chance to stretch and walk. It was one of the reason she had wanted to use her wings... check everything had healed right. Of course it had, the skill of the herds healer was unquestionable.
When Aryon started to tell her trivial information she wondered if was simply teasing her back, or if it was more his way of avoiding conversations about deeply personal stuff. It wasn't Satos nature or place to pry... but she could play! With a chuckle laced in her voice, and a smile on her face she spoke; "Red apples huh? Well I must say I am rather partical to green--" --now at least-- She thought, thinking of her newly acquired pendant "...but my faviourite food would have to be the sweet grass that grows nears my fathers cave. It is certainly the most delicious of all the Earth's treats I have ever tasted. Of course it's hard to hunt such a difficult treat.... you know, if you're ticklish." She said as a soft laugh escaped her voice, she faced her companion and tried to appear completely serious as she asked, "Are you ticklish?" She failed.

Aryon pouted briefly at being called 'Mr. Directionally Challenged'. It didn't last long though as the corner of his mouth reluctantly tilted upwards in a grudging smile as the mare loosened up a bit. It was good to see that she wasn't as weary around him anymore. It was always more fun to tag along with someone who had a sense of humor.
As they started to noticeably ascend the mountain, Aryon relaxed himself. It was good to have even an illusion of purpose for once. The company wasn't bad either, he thought.
He smirked back at Sato as she returned his evasiveness with some of her own. It was indeed interesting to know this small thing about her as it indicated that she had a relationship with her father. Something he could not boast. Thinking of that, Aryon wondered how his mother and sister were doing. It had been a long time since he had seen either of them, he wondered if they ever thought of him.
At the insinuation that he might be ticklish, Aryon inched away from Sato. It was something he tried to keep to himself. He'd had that particular weakness taken advantage of in the past by his sister...she always came out on top of their playful skirmishes.
He tried to play it cool, "Not at all." he inched further away at the look on her face.
Unfortunately, as they passed by, a tall bit of vegetation brushed against his side and his hide twitched reflexively. He hoped she hadn't seen that...
"I wouldn't say that red apples were the most delicious treat on earth, but I think they beat out measly grass." he taunted in an effort to change the subject.

Sato continued to walk by his side, genuinely intreguied by him now. When he tried to deny that he was ticklish Sato had a feeling he was lying, she considered it for a moment..... maybe he was telling the truth? After all she had only ever heard her father and sister lie, and quite frankly they were both poor at it. Her father would lie that he was happy and over their mother, sometimes she felt it was true... but not as much as he had wanted them to believe, as for her sister.... well she suspected that her sister had found someone and wasn't ready to share the news so instead she took to lying about where she went.
She had just glanced over at him when some vegetation brushed his side.... she couldn't help it, she burst out laughing with a soft snort thrown in for good measure.
She laughed so hard that she stopped in her tracks, and it took her a moment to find her composure once more.... when she finally had control over herself, mostly at least, she finally said - "You are as bad a liar as my sister Aryon!" But she smiled, not mockingly but out of fun. With a playful wink she walked towards him and nipped his mane before saying, "Don't worry... I won't use it against you..... unless you decided to insult sweet grass again, well.... then I may just be forced to tickle for its honour." She beamed at him, it felt like so long since she had enjoyed herself so. Recently everyone had turned serious.... lifemate, meet the family, broken wing, nearly eaten.... but this was.... nice.

Aryon shook his mane out in mock irritation, "Not the hair!" he exclaimed playfully.
He stuck his nose into the air at being called a bad liar. It was a perfectly believable lie...if that stupid weed hadn't decided to call his bluff it would have gone perfectly! Had he said that out loud? And what was that about defending the honor of sweet grass?!
"Okay, okay! You win! Sweet grass is the best and will always be! Just...don't tickle me?" he watched the mare in front of him warily just in case she decided he had already said to much against her favorite treat and deserved to be punished anyway.

Sato watched Aryon for a moment before nodding and smiling again with satisfied grin on her face. "Much better." She tilted her head to look at him and giggled before finally trying to reassure him. "Don't worry Aryon, I won't tickle you. Promise." And she meant it.
Sato had to admit it was nice to get some interaction out of her new family, yes she loved them, but they were always there, always in her face and she wasn't used to that. At home it was just her and two others -her father and sister- yet with the Imps it was three generations of noise and clingyness. Each wanting a piece of her attention, to know everything, to know how she had met Zeeke and changed him..... she didn't know about the second part, didn't know the version of him that they spoke of. Sure he was playful and a trickester but he had been nothing but sweet to her.
Brushing away her thoughts she looked down her current path. "Not much longer. I think there is a legde where we can pretty much see everything." She turned to looked at Aryon and smiled again. "That ok with you?" If he wanted to go higher up they could, she didn't mind... after all she was quiet enjoying herself.
