It wasn't as if she didn't enjoy all the company, however, sometimes Samantha just needed a little time to herself. Which is why today found the female hunter stalking through the forest alone for the time being. Nothing like a little peace and quiet to clear one's head.
The forest was peaceful enough, that was sure. Quiet except for the occasional chirping bird, it offered a sense of solitude and tranquility to those who traveled beneath its canopy. Samantha continued on her way, then spying a welcoming spot, proceeded to make herself comfortable for a brief rest. Not long enough to sleep, of course, but she'd rest her paws here before returning to the others. No sense worrying anyone; especially since she hadn't really told any of them where she was going except 'for a walk.'
Her paws were folded in front of her, the dark green stone that hung around her neck now rested upon them. She reached up, thoughtfully brushing a paw against it in silence. Maybe...but eh, who knew?
Yawning briefly, she tucked her paws closer to her form and wrapped her long, luxurious tail around herself to preserve warmth. It was starting to grow a bit chillier these days; winter must be on the horizon.

Cloud wandered through the forest, he left his pack to get away from his family, they irritated him and tried to rule over him and pick out everything about his life. His mother didn't raise him, the one who raised him was the "mother" of them all, raised all to be warriors, killing smaller weaker packs, taking their woman, which is where the "mother " figure came from. They did not show any respect for woman except for his mother, who was second in command. She didn't even give a rats a** about his existence, just make the pack bigger, stronger killing as many as they can, even children. He had a younger brother, he was the runt, his father took him away and then he was gone. He must have killed him...
He wandered deep in thought, wondering if he would find a regular pack, well, he didn't know what a regular pack was like, he only seen the aftermath of the killing. He was very very far from his old pack, he had traveled a months time non stop, except for short naps, crossing streams, making sure to scrub his scent off so the pack would never find him.
He continued to walk when something caught his eye, something green, he turned his head and seen the most beautiful female he ever saw. He stopped, she wouldn't realize he was around because he was down wind. He wanted to meet her, but not disturb her, so he sat down two trees away, waiting for her to wake up, so she wouldn't be startled by his presence. He laid his head down, thinking about what to say to her, wondering if she had a pack.

Samantha likely looked asleep, the way she was lying. She'd stretched one paw out before her and had her head resting on it, the other continued to fiddle with the stone hanging around her neck, her expression far away and thoughtful. A thought had occurred to her and she was busy musing it over, else she wouldn't have let her attentiveness slack.
Normally, she kept alert of her surroundings, whether there was anyone about or no, whether anyone was expected or no. She didn't like letting anyone within distance of her without her knowledge; it was unnerving, let alone dangerous for a lone Krokotas.
Then again, she wasn't exactly alone anymore, was she? She seemed to be gathering a small group around her on her travels, whether she looked for them or no. Not that she really minded the company, quirky as some of them might be.
She let the ghost of a smile cross her maw, her head still laid out sideways on her outstretched paw. Yes...she liked that idea. She'd have to see what she could do about putting it in motion. It'd be a nice surprise, she thought.
Yawning again, she stretched a bit, sitting up and shaking her head. She should probably be getting back soon; the others might start worrying. She frowned a bit, glancing around before she stood to leave. Wait a minute...something wasn't right here...

Cloud realized that the female was now moving, he was nervous, but he had to do this if he wanted to ever be apart of something, he sat up looking towards the female. He wanted to say hi but he was scared she would run away, or even attack him.
He wasn't afraid of being attacked, being apart of his old pack trained him to be a good fighter, and taught how to block fights. What he was afraid of was rejection, he found a beautiful girl, and now was the time to find out if she was going to leave him alone, like he had been for ages.
He had to say something, or she might run.... but what to say? Hi I seen you were sleeping and beautiful, so I waited here for you to wake up? no...that's no good. how bout Hi I have traveled a long time, noticing you were there made me want to stop and meet you? Ugh this was frustrating, he was lost for what to say to this girl without freaking her out. He decided to say the regular thing, if she ran, she ran, he'd just keep roaming.
He looked at her again. "Hi" He said quietly, he hadn't talked to anyone in ages, and lost his backbone.

Samantha tensed almost imperceptibly, but her reaction to the voice was immediate. She turned her head slowly, eyes locking onto the heat signature. She'd let someone sneak up on her? She was slipping, seriously.
However, the voice held no note of hostility, and while that might yet be a ploy of some sort, perhaps her mistake would not be too costly. This time at least. She'd still be reprimanding herself for some time for letting her attention slip while alone.
Instead, she kept a calm, collected air about her as she nodded her head once politely and responded, "Hello." Her paws folded in front of her in a show of ease that she didn't quite feel, and her tail flicked once behind her.
"If I'm tresspassing, I apologize," she continued, deciding to head off any potential trouble before it could arise. "I was only passing through." She regarded the male Krokotas warily, remaining polite for now, but ready for trouble if the other decided to start it.

"Oh, I'm just passing through myself, I just saw you, and you made me feel like I had to meet you. I mean... you don't have to. I'm just looking for a pack to join."
He wondered what the Fem would say, he feared rejection, so he crossed his front paws to show he meant no harm, and wasn't a threat to her. She was very pretty though, he always gets attracted to the ones that are hard to get. This fem probably had many males wanting to be with her.
He stretched a little to calm himself, he didn't want to look nervous. He wondered if he could join her pack... even if she didn't like him, if he could be friends with her, that would satisfy him, he hoped, but its not like he could do anything about it anyways. He was thinking too much.

Nodding with understanding, Samantha relaxed just a fraction. At least this wasn't about to degenerate into a territory dispute. She certainly wasn't trying to infringe upon anyone else's land.
...wait, what was that last part? Frowning now, she cocked her head at the stranger curiously. "I'm sorry...what was that?" she questioned, raising one eyebrow.
Maybe she just attracted the strange ones, maybe that was it. Her track record with them was nearly flawless now.
Shaking her head, she decided to brush over the strange and slightly discomforting comment in favor of addressing his last sentence. "Well, I don't know of many packs in the area. I've only crossed paths with a few Krokotas in general myself. Still, most seem friendly enough. A few of us have decided to travel together in search of others. Better than being alone, right?" She wasn't sure why she was being so talkative. Maybe she was trying to get him to speak a little more so she could learn a bit more about him; see if he was crazy, or just a bit quirky like the others she now called friends.

"So you are forming a pack?" He wondered what the others were like, but why was she alone if she was making a pack? He played with his dream catcher around his neck.
He was getting used to looking at the pretty female, he highly doubted he'd have a chance, lol, maybe some pups one day, He day dreamed. He shook his head to come back to reality.
"I killed a boar back there, not to far away, still has some good meat on it if you are hungry.... "

"I...wait what? I don't even know anymore," she sighed, rolling her eyes at herself. She sounded like a lunatic. Ah well, now she fit in with the rest of them. "It sure seems to be heading in that direction, I guess," she continued, not really feeling much like explaining. She didn't really look to make a pack of her own...the others just kinda' started...following her around.
His movement drew her attention to the bauble around his neck. She blinked a bit curiously, considering her own pendant for a second. She almost missed his next comment. "Hmm?" she glanced back up, blinking. Probably a good thing she had no idea what his train of thought was previously.
She wasn't overly hungry, but...perhaps she should, just to be polite. "I suppose I could," she started, glancing aside with a frown. "Though...I have been gone a while. I don't want to worry the others..." she trailed off, conflicted.

"You are confused about making a pack? I'm sure it's hard thing to put things together." He looked away from her towards the direction where the meat was. He wondered why she was so confused? Was she trying to get away from him?
"If you are making one, can I be apart of it, I mean I will fallow the leader. Whats the leaders name?" Should he even be talking like this to her? She obviously was upset about this.

Confused? Yes, yes she was. She'd never set out to create a pack; she'd just been looking for a home. But when she'd met the others, and they'd wanted to travel together, she'd been just fine with that. She'd never imagined they'd all start looking to her as their leader.
It wasn't as if she'd sought out that kind of attention.
"It is all a bit confusing," she admitted, seeming to relax a bit. Perhaps she needed to stop fighting this and just go with the flow, so to speak. It worked for the rivers and streams, as they all seemed to get where they were going in the end, regardless of the path. "I was just looking for a home, a place to settle down. Next thing I know, I've got a traveling group. So, I suppose, if there is a leader of the group...you're looking at her." She forced a bit of a chuckle, still coming to terms with the concept.
"My name is Fiery Heart," she nodded, "but, you can call me Samantha."

"Oh hello Samantha." He wondered why she was so confused over this, he could tell she was a very smart tough krok, it didn't matter anymore tho, because she admitted it.
"I was wondering if I could join you group, I will do all I can do fot the pack." He bowed his head. "My name is Cloud Dancer, you can call me cloud, it has been a pleasure talking with you." He said honestly.
"You really have this thing about you, that just made me want to join, you are very special." He nods then smiles at her. "You are also very pretty Samantha."

There were many things that the female was used to dealing with: extreme cold, hunger, shortage of prey, even rogue wolves. Flattery was not one of these things. Flattery hit her from the side and sent her rolling before she even sensed it coming.
"I...er...thank you, Cloud," she stammered awkwardly, blinking a few times. There was a sudden heat in her cheeks, that fortunately for her, was likely hidden by her fur. Still, she suddenly felt self-conscious and wasn't sure how to respond.
So she changed the subject.
"We're not really one of those rigid, rule-stamping sort of grou--err, packs," she corrected herself. If that was what they were going to be, she'd better get used to it. "We're more like...a family, I suppose," she said with a faint smile. A disfunctional family, perhaps, but yeah...a family nonetheless. "Long as everyone looks out for each other and pitches in as needed, I think we'll all get along just fine."
She took a moment to consider what Cloud had said, the part about being drawn to talk to her, to join her group. Was that why the others had come along as well? It wasn't anything she was doing consciously, and it wasn't anything she herself could sense. It was...curious, to say the least. Did she really draw other Krokotas to her like that?

Cloud smiled. "Sounds good to me" He stood up. "I'm gonna go get that boar for you, so just sit here okay?"
He dashed through the forest, there was a few birds pecking away at it, so he scared them away.
He picked up the boar and tossed it onto his back. He then ran back. "Here you go Samantha, I hope you like it, unless you would like me to bring it to your den?"

Samantha chuckled a bit, reflecting on events while Cloud was gone. He was a bit...overwhelming at first, but she could sense that he meant well. She would get used to him in time.
Then again, was he really all that odd, compared to the individuals already in the group? No, not really. Everyone was unique, that much was for sure. She had to chuckle again as she mused, things would certainly never be boring again.
As Cloud returned, she rose to her feet to greet him. After considering his question, she shook her head, and said, "No, let's share a bit. You can tell me a bit more about yourself, and we can lighten the load a bit. Then maybe, we can take the rest back to the others, hmm?" Smiling, she gestured towards a spot under the trees with a nod of her head, then padded over that way to take a seat. "So, Cloud...tell me something about yourself. Where you're from, or if you'd prefer, maybe what you'd like to do now that you've found a pack?"
