This RP is between Lian (Divena) and Jarlaxle (DarkHikari) The rain poured down in buckets, driving the blue and silver Angeni out of the sky. While she'd been growing used to using her wings, she hadn't quite mastered them yet. Like so many other talents, she was learning how to fly as she went, and she wasn't up to managing a storm. Which she knew this would be. So, she tumbled toward the ground, shaking water from her eyes as she tried to find shelter where she could wait out the rain. Or maybe get dry. Either worked.
Lian landed with a stumble and nearly tumbled head over hooves. A flare of the wings managed to keep her upright, though it seemed to cause her to get another bucket worth of water dumped on her head. Honestly, were her feathers sponges or something? Ugh. What she wouldn't give to be a duck right now. She shook that thought aside, poofed up her feathers, and started walking while keeping her head low. If she could just find a cave or a tree or something...
Well, maybe not a tree...

Jarlaxle shook himself off and cast an appraising eye around at his home for the night. It was small for his tastes but it would do. He had been lucky to have found the little cave. With a pout he glanced back at his drenched cape. Curse it all! This thing takes forever to get dry. With a dissapointed sigh he looked out at the sky. Still wet, and from the looks of it, it would be raining all through the night. It was while he was watching that he saw the angeni topple from the sky. He smirked to himself, it was always a good idea to make nice with angeni's, because having one in your debt always paid off.
He ventured out and made his way to where he had seen her make an unsteady landing. She was a pretty little mare, although not what he would consider beautiful. Still, a woman was a woman and he couldn't bear to see her wander around in the rain where she could fall ill. He approached cautiously in case she wasn't alone. He'd never make that mistake again. "If you're in need of shelter, I found a small cave not to far from here. I'd be happy to have company while the weather lasts."

Lian glanced toward the sound of a voice and smiled in relief as the words sank in. "That would be wonderful, thank you!" she said, gratefully as she changed direction, toward the odd looking stallion. Well, she wasn't one to judge based on appearance. After all, he was offering her shelter and company for the night.
Lian honestly didn't understand why her Uncle Pachu'a had been so concerned for her safety. Everyone she had met so far had been very nice and helpful. Though, they had been a bit more vocal than the stallion who raised her, but that had only led to some fun conversations.

He smirked and jerked his head jauntily in the direction of the cave. "Its nothing at all. I just hate seeing a beautiful mare in distress. This way..." He walked beside her and just a little ahead, leading the way. She seemed to carry an air of innocence about her, which suited him just fine. Though it was more fun to outwit a crafty opponent, a little naivete now and again was a welcome change of pace. Perhaps he could steal whatever little shiny trinket our bauble she may have and be gone by morning. Though he would be gentlemanly enough to wait until after the weather cleared.
"What brings you out in such bad weather?"

Unaware of what was going through his mind, she offered a sheepish smile. "A lack of shelter, mostly. The storm caught me by surprise," and that was the most ironic thing she'd come across today. She, with her annoying gift of foresight, hadn't seen the storm coming. "I'm heading north. And you? Do you live in these parts, or are you traveling as well? Ah! Forgive my manners. I am Lian."

He ducked into the cave and listened as he waited for her to join him. When that were both safely inside and she had finished he dipped into a jaunty little bow. "I'm Jarlaxle. A pleasure to meet you." He straightened up and smiled at her. "Welcome to my home for the night, make yourself comfortable and get dry. It seems that we'll be here for a bit." He mused to himself for a while as he thought about her questions. "I go where my hooves lead me, I have no home to call my own beyond where I stop to rest at night." He looked up and tilted his head a little to the side. "What about you? What sort of business is it that is taking you north? To visit with family perhaps?"

"Ah, no," she rustled her wings carefully, trying to shed a few drops of water. "Like you, I have no particular destination in mind. North sounded like a good place to start."

He nodded and glanced back at his cape once again. Darn. That little outing did nothing to help. Seems I'll just have to hope for the best now... He shook his head to himself before meeting her eyes. "That's as good a reason as any I suppose. Are you traveling alone?"

"For the moment," she nodded. She shifted slightly, trying to turn so she could watch the rain. "Do you really think it'll rain all night?"

He had to struggle to suppress a scheming grin. She was such an adorable naive little mare that it was almost shameful how easy it would be. He watched her as she watched the rain. "From the looks of it, but you never can be too sure. All we can do is wait and see." He tossed her a charming grin and stretched out trying to work the oncoming fatigue out of his limbs.

She returned his smile with one of her own. "I suppose that's true. Well, at least neither of us is waiting alone."

"Well then, I will take solace in knowing that I have a beautiful young mare to keep me company through the rainy night." He bent forward into a sweeping bow. "So what, if I may be so bold in asking, set you traveling in the first place Miss Lian?" He settled himself into a comfortable position as he waited for her answer.

She flushed slightly at his compliment and shifted so that she could sit facing him. "Restlessness, I suppose. I wanted to see the world and meet new people. Well... that and... an instinct of sorts drove me forward. I feel that I may be of more use traveling than staying put. Does that make sense?"
