It was only for a second! Yes a second. Well, last time it was only meant to be a day and how did that end up? Yes, he had wandered across a beautiful damsel in distress and now had himself... A mate? He stretched out his wings further in the air to feel the breeze whistle through the tattered feathers. Closing his eyes as a break away from the brightness that illuminated the skies. He thought about his family and how the new rules were to play out. He already had everything he wanted but sometimes, a break away from the girls of the group was a definite need. He lowered, re-opening his eyes as he dropped himself numbly towards the ground, like a falling angel before flapping his wings and ending in a soft glide towards the ground within a wide plain. Where the tree's were almost bare and the flowers were withdrawing themselves for the winter. These were the last days that the sun would be peaking out before the snow would come once more. He shook himself, more feathers landing on the ground beside him as he let his hooves confidently take him across the plain in a stroll. No one was around! What a Bummer. He thought rolling his dark eyes trying to eye out someone, something or just a form of life to keep him entertained for a short while until it was time to fly back. He didn't want to make Sato worry, or have her feel like he had left her again so... Yeah. He was going to get an earful anyway. He sighed, a pout forming across his lips.

To his left, not too far but not overly close either, a spray of dirt would suddenly splash up in the air. It would be followed by stillness before yet another spray emerged, almost as if someone was grabbing handfuls and tossing them up.
In fact, that was fairly close to the truth. Young Amaya had heard about an old hunter's trap, and had decided to try it herself. Of course, the filly hadn't thought much past "dig a hole" which was exactly what she was doing. She had been working on it all day long, kicking up dirt and making a grand ol' mess of herself and the area around her. Of course, from the air, the grass partially hid her work, and the hole was half again as deep as she was tall, so she was invisible to anyone wandering by. But she wasn't quite satisfied yet. It needed to be deep enough to trap an adult!
Next would come figuring out how to hide the hole... or... maybe she should try and figure out how to get out of it. Hmm. Ah well, that would come after she was done digging!

Zeeke flicked his head up and towards the scratching type of noise, noticing gushes of mud and dirt and whatever has it flying in to the air and landing in a mass of crumbs. It was filthy! Going absolutely everywhere. Just his type of thing! With a wide grin, the stallion approached the area that was being attacked at, curiously and obviously very stupidly. Afterall it could of been anything and he was waltzing right in there. Yeah, that was him for ya.
At the edge of the hole, a soquili much, much smaller than himself a filly at that was digging herself... A hole to put it simply and not only that, it was more likely to become a grave of some sort unless she knew how to get out of it if she dug deep enough. NOT AGAIN. His mind raced, he had just saved someone from a hole! He gave a knowing snort and laughed at the young girl.
"What exactly are you doing there?" He asked more through amusement, raising his eyebrow as he flicked a bit of dirt that just hit him and tumbled to the ground, back in to the hole with a pout. "Hey, hey now! Watch the coat, it's hard to get looking spankin' new again. Y'know?" He chuckled, lowering his head. He still wanted that answer.

Amaya jumped in surprise at his voice then scowled up at him. "You're not supposed to see me!" she pouted. "Go away! Come back when I'm done! And pretend you didn't see anything!"
Yeah, because that would work. The young filly considered rethinking her plan, then decided there was no need to mess with perfection. Just because one Soquili happened to stumble across her didn't necessarily mean that the trick would totally flop. Who knew? Maybe the fellow up there would do what she said and forget about her.... and then come back and fall into the hole when she was done. Not likely, but you never knew!

Zeeke shifted his eyes side to side to search for other older soquili that may be around, like her parents. What was a kid doing out all alone anyway. He knew for sure he would never let his kid wander, not in this day n' age. Wow, he did sound old! He made a face at his thoughts, looking back to the little filly with quite the mouth on her as he grinned. "Right because that's all it takes to shoo someone away? You need a rawr to your voice to do that."
He studied the hole. It wasn't 'bad' so to say, she had done a good job with it so far but that wasn't going to catch anything bigger than something her size. He gave a sigh and a shrug. "Guess you don't want the 'master' of trickery to help you, but I get it... That's totally fine." He said, in a low over dramatic voice, closing his eyes as he slowly began to turn.

The word "trickery" caught her attention a split second before she registered what he had said. Master of trickery? Amaya perked up at the possibility of that. The few pranks she had mastered had been self taught. While she enjoyed coming up with new pranks, the learning process was a bit tedious. Finding someone to teach her better, more advanced tricks... well, that would be perfect!
...and he was leaving!
"Wait!"

Zeeke didn't want to seem over eager after his dramatic turn to walk away act but, he was amused at the fact he had managed to catch this little filly's attention. "Oh?" And why wouldn't she want his attention? Everyone wanted his attention. A smug grin crossed his lips as he came to a slow halt before putting on a curious look, eyebrow raised as the tips of her ears came in to view once more.
"Say please and I might think about it." He spoke clearly, as he continued to stare over.

She hesitated, mentally debating if she wanted to stoop so low. The words "master" and "trickery" stuck at her and pricked until she finally caved. But Amaya wasn't one to do anything half way.
"Pretty, pretty please?"

"Aww well aint you just the cutest." He laughed lightly, deciding to make his way back over to the hole as he peered in to it, casting her a small smile as he spread out his wings in a gentle stretch. It caused a shadow over her, before he once again tucked them in to his sides.
"First off." He started, observing her in the hole as he searched the edges of it. "You kinda need a way out. You don't have wings so you'll just be digging yourself a grave if it gets too deep." He nodded. "If you're any good at climbing, then vines are your best bet. Or if your familiar with tunnel structure, you could always dig out a short cut. Then you have to remember, it needs to be stable so it doesn't cave." He thought this might be too much for the filly to take in and rounded it off with an introduction.
"My names Zeeke, btw."

The young filly was already absorbing everything he said, eyeing the hole as it finally dawned on her that she, in fact, did not have a way out. Nor would whoever she managed to trap in there, which wouldn't do. Oh, the idea was to trick someone into falling into the hole, then having a good laugh at them, but Amaya was a prankster, not a sadist. She didn't want to actually hurt anyone. So a rope kept on hand while she waited for someone to trip into it would probably work.
The introduction finally sank in and she beamed up at him. "I'm Amaya. Um...could you maybe, possibly help me out of this? Please?" As an after thought, she tacked on another, "Pretty please?"

Zeeke laughed gently as she added on the extra pretty please at the end. He wasn't doing so bad. There he was thinking he would be the worst dad ever and now he guessed, his way with foals wasn't so bad. He thought of Sato and wondered if it was her influence that was kicking in... He nodded to the filly. "I can help. No problemo." The hole wasn't big enough to fit himself in to, so he thought on another option to get her out.
He grinned as he trotted off in to the forest. His eyes scanned the trees and flooring when he found a long, strong enough branch that would hold her weight he took it in his mouth and made his way back.
He lowered his head, the stick in his mouth and made an awkward smile with it. "Hold on tight." He muffled. "And dig your front hooves in to the walls of the hole."

She clamped her teeth onto the wood and dug her front hooves into the wall, trying to walk up. It was a rather comical sight, with her scrambling for a hold. Unfortunately, she had chosen a pretty soft soiled area to dig. It was the reason she had managed to gain such a deep hole in such a short time.

He felt the pull from her hold, the extra weight making him lower his head and neck further but, thankfully Zeeke had quite the past of training, even if it wasn't the usual, knight in shining armor type. He had learned minor abilities in that area but digging holes, learning new moves that would relate further to a bandit was where his strength came from. Unfortunately, her scramble of hooves on the soft dirt wasn't helping make this easy. He pulled, digging his hooves in to the ground and gradually lifted her from the hole.
It was good she was only a filly. If she was a grown mare, then they would of had problems. He dropped the stick with a sigh of relief, and smiled at the muddy child before him, bringing back memories of his fun-loving foalhood. Where all that mattered was made up super powers, friends and the space around you to mess around in. He chuckled.
"Should we get started on your training?" He finally beamed.

Her eyes sparkled at him from her mud caked face. She seemed completely undeterred by the mess she'd made of herself and her attempt at a new trap. "You'll teach me all sorts of new tricks?" she asked, eagerly, bouncing with far more energy than someone who had spent the entire day digging should have.

Zeeke nodded at her eagerness. Eager was a good aspect to see, it would make learning faster and easier. He looked at the hole he had just dragged her out of and walked to her side, peering in to it. "We should work on finishing this first..." He lifted his head, then looked to the forest once more. "Our supplies are in the forest." He made his way towards it, keeping an eye on her to check if she was following. "We need to collect vines, to weave them in to a fine netting." He smiled at her.
