Izefiah was mad at his father. He'd known from the moment Auster had lain eyes on him that the Angeni was not pleased with his son. You didn't have to be particularly observant to notice that. He wasn't mad about that, sure it had been heartbreaking to realize he was a disappointment to his father, the biggest one of out his whole litter, but he'd gotten over it. He couldn't help the way he looked, but he could do everything he possibly could to make his dad proud. And he did that! All the time! But it didn't matter, Auster couldn't seem to see past the fact his son seemed to be grounded. He thought his dad would be okay with the fact he was grounded if he at least had wings. But he didn't. He had stupid branches where his wings should be. Come on! His mom AND his dad had wings! So why didn't he? It wasn't fair!
So he was mad at Auster, and he had decided to run away. It'd taken a lot of deliberation, he hadn't wanted to leave his sisters, but he wanted to punish his father. If the Angeni would even come looking for him. He probably wouldn't. He'd probably be relieved. The thought of that caught in Izefiah's throat, causing a lump to grow there. He bit his lip, feeling tears sting his eyes. He loved his daddy! Why couldn't Auster love him back?
Caught up in his own thoughts, the young colt paid no attention to his surroundings, or to who might be in the surroundings.
