MasichuvioThe two had been traveling for some time..their search for food ending badly. The very irritated female wolf hated them, not the creature that plodded along rather peacefully behind her. She hated meeting others of her species..especially males. Not that they had encountered any but, she feared they might. Such odd complex beings..snorting quietly Mingan moved like a gray ghost through the forest. Likewise Masichuvio, her constant and, only companion trailed along his hoof like feet making the softest plop plop noise when they met the warm grass. "No others are around..nope none..good riddance." Masichuvio sighed heavily his blue eyes darting about as the sometimes irritable female started ranting louder. "No food even! The last pack left nothing..even the foxes wouldn't touch such scraps..Masichuvio?! Are you listening?" Startled the buck shook his antlered head, nose quivering fearfully for the scent of other wolves. "Yes yes Mingan..your belly is empty I smell no danger yet. Please hunt, I will also feed." Growling softly Mingan said nothing more, to hunt she had to be quiet. Sadly that meant no more raging over those selfish packs..leaving her nothing to snack on. As the light gray buck kept watch over the stalking female wolf his ears flickered before he lowered his head to munch some tasty looking shoots of grass. If only wolves could eat grass..it would make living and traveling with one much easier. Soon Mingan returned a triumphant look in her eyes, a dead rabbit hanging from her jaws. Once the odd female settled the two ate in perfect silent harmony thinking..nothing could interrupt such tranquility.

Azul arched his back, and scratched his ear with his hind leg.
''How long had I been sleeping?''
He did one more quick stretch, and decided to survey his surroundings. Wandering through the forest, he looked all around him, appreciating the things he had never taken time to notice. Birds were singing, grass rustling, and the day's warm sun was shining down on him. Azul stiffled a yawn.
''It's such a great day to just sleep, but I shouldn't waste such good weather loafing about...''
His stomach growled. It had been a while since his last meal, and hunting hadn't been easy for him. He really just wanted to sink his teeth into some tender deer or elk flesh, but still being a pup, he had to resort to small chipmunks and squirrels, which were not nearly so satisfying. He looked around, hoping to spot some small critter scurrying about, or possibly even a young deer, but no luck.
''Man, what does it take to get a decent meal around here?!''
A rustling sound caught his ear, and he turned his head towards it. In the distance, he could see a wolf feeding. Creeping up slowly, he concealed himself behind a tree, and watched. To his surprise, the wolf wasn't alone, and there was a deer also.
'What the... a deer... with a wolf? The two eating... together?!'
The logic made no sense to him, but rather than ponder this, he crouched, preparing to pounce on the unsuspecting deer.

Masichuvio Mingan felt rather peaceful as she tore into the delicious rabbit, it wasn't much but, would suffice for now. Still..something felt wrong...slowly her gray ears swiveled, nose twitching. Masichuvio jerked his head up warily moving closer to Mingan, ears flickering curiously his nose twitching and, tail flicking absently behind him. "Company Mingan?"
The female growled low in her throat letting it reverberate through her strong chest. Her ears slowly flicked pinning back irritably at the faint scent of a wolf. With a twitch of her own tail nearly in time with her companions, Mingan spoke still growling at the unseen possible threat. "Show yourself weakling! If you are here to kill my companion you will be sorely disappointed...he is mine.."
Again came the low snarl like growl, Masichuvio silently pawed at the ground ready to bolt should trouble arise..or worse attack if he must. He wasn't a defenseless deer..his antlers worked well and, Mingan would strike down opponents when they tried to go after him first. The ever irritable female wolf soon spoke again her voice sharper "Come out now or I will come drag you out..cowardly wolf."

Ivorypoint He heard some commotion, his broad mountain-built body shifted with a heavy cloak of muscles. Within his muzzle were two rabbits, one for himself and another for later it seemed. His shimmering jades emphasized power even within the lands outside of the mountainous regions. In which his pack had settled.
Behind him as well, a small female doe, prancing around with some branches of berries in her pretty little mouth. Her off-white antlers shimmering as she turned her head and stood at attention like her wolven father. She looked on in awe at his stance and then her deer-senses kicked in to raise her head in alert. A small almost non-existant feeling of unease. She had been around wolves since she was rather young, even when she was nursed by an old doe.. She still thought herself a Gamma to the Einherjar and not a Hjort, (norwegian word for deer).
Niflheim's eyes almost glittered when he heard the lone defend her deer. That was the spirit of the Einherjar. Even if she wasn't a mountain wolf. Though to far to decide that. He bounded towards the female wolfess. His strides heavy on the plains' earth below.

He flinched, his heart pounded heavily, and a single sweatdrop trickled down his forehead.
'How did they know?!'
Seeing that it was no use trying to hide, he cautiously stepped out of his hiding place and faced the two. He blinked. The menacing voice came not from a husky male, but... a female. And the wolf had said something about... companion? Azul cocked his head, still trying to process the meaning of this whole affair. He eyed the female, still growling menacingly, and the buck, who was staring back at him silently. Azul decided not to risk it. Should he try to attack the deer, the wolf would easily pounce and tear him to pieces. He decided to choose his words carefully.
''I'm sorry, I did not know this deer was your... friend. But tell me... are wolves and deers not meant to be mortal enemies? Do we wolves not feast on the flesh of these plant-eaters? Then why do you protect this one as if he were your kin?''
He pawed the ground, trying to suppress his hunger. It was bad enough he was caught and scolded by some female wolf, but to let her know he was starving and inadequate of hunting by himself was beyond what he could handle. He grit his teeth. Should the female be offended or not heed his words, he would have to flee, lest he risk being mauled by some crazy deer-loving canine. Azul swallowed. He decided it was better for his pride to be injured. He took a step back, and awaited the female's answer.

MasichuvioA pup? Mingan made a bit of a face before examining the youngster her eyes narrowing at his words. "That is true young one. Not mortal enemies though ,oh now. If it weren't for him I would not be alive. So tell me why should I eat him and his kin unless my hunger is too great..I only eat rabbits..or smaller creatures." Feeling herself still on edge Mingan started to pace her sharp nails digging into the soft grass, and earth easily. She didn't work well with others but, she would not attack a pup, unless he tried to harm Masichuvio then it was on. With an almost exasperated sigh she stopped her incessant pacing and again sat her tail swishing thoughtfully. "I will not harm you..do not fear. Unless that is you try to harm Masichuvio..also.." Her eyes filled with a sudden curiosity as she looked the younger male over more carefully as if assessing him in some way. He looked far too young to be away for ma pack or some kind of guardian. "Why is one so young out alone trying to kill a buck twice his size? " Could he be starving? How sad..Mingan's ears flicked back mind wandering for a long while..that is until Masichuvio's voice again quietly came from behind her. "Mingan..do you smell it? Perhaps it would be wise to leave." The female wolf looekd perplexed her nose sniffing loudly at the air and ears perked up at attention. She smelled no danger, she heard nothing but, the soft breeze blowing through the wind. "What? He is no danger just a pup..what do you smell?" The gray pelted buck snorted seeming frustrated with his companion yet, his voice came again still quite yet somehow more urgent. His muscles quivered anticipating a bigger wolf. He could tell better than Mingan sometimes when another wolf drew nearer. "A wolf...coming towards us but, now it is too late to flee gracefully." Glaring a bit Mingan moved back to her paws looking through the foliage and the slightly swaying limbs, searching for the one Masichuvio had scented. "I see nothing! Nothing at all do not tell me you are getting too old.." She smelled wolf but, only the little male before her! Thinking her slightly older companion to be a bit confused Mingan moved back to the male speaking curiously again. "Tell me your name pup and, tell me..are you hungry or just stupid?"

Ivorypoint He padded towards them, his shocking greens attentive. He padded towards them when he felt the need to be urgent. The growling had ensued and when he had seen it to be a pup he hadn't any bad blood between the two. He hated seeing pups injured or get hurt by a capable adult.
Behind him Ivory flexxed her auds feeling funky seeing a wolf just like her with the points upon his head. Her head cantered. He was a pretty buck. Nope, sorry. Wolf. He's a wolf! If she's so much like him he MUST be a wolf. That was it. He was just like her. A hooved, tall wolf. Before her stood Niflheim and then she noticed just how close they were.
He noticed the pup's condition when he put down the rabbits to his paws. Then flexxed his auds towards Mingan. It was obvious this wolf was of high stature, his mountain wolf build menacing and large. And his stance sang the bells of Alphahood. The big boy was all Alpha and no Beta. "Is there a problem here?" He spoke with dignity, an almost grouch in his rasped vocal. He had been walking and listening to Ivory talk about how good at hunting he was. But now his doe was quiet, which to him was odd.

Azul stared, sensing unease between the two, but then he realized the wolf was talking to him. He relaxed a bit, knowing that the female wouldn't harm him unless he attempted to attack the deer again, which now he considered would be a pretty stupid idea. He hated that he was being called ''stupid'', but decided that leaving with a bruised ego would be better if he wanted to see another day.
''My... my name is Azul.''
He licked his lips, contemplating whether to tell her he actually was starving. He eyed the remains of the rabbit she had been eating. It actually looked... really good. Azul shook his head. No.. it was bad enough he got caught trying to kill a buck who would probably kill him before he even managed to get close to it, but to ask for scraps of food... from a FEMALE no less... that was more than he could bare.
''Y-yes, I probably was foolish of me to try attacking your... friend.''
He paused, and stared at the ground, still trying to understand what she had said. 'If it weren't for him, I would not be alive'. Did that mean the deer had saved the wolf's life? But why? Why would a deer save a wolf's life? He was still so confused. He looked up at the wolf again
''I guess my hunger overcame my common sense. It has been a while since I ate...''
He plopped down, too exhausted and hungry to keep standing. He tilted his head downward and sighed, waiting to see what the wolf would say. Suddenly, he heard a deep rumbling voice, and raised his head.He noticed that two more had joined, and turned his gaze towards them. A large black wolf with strange markings he hadn't seen before... and... another deer?! A female one this time. Azul was just so confused. What's going on?!

MasichuvioSo he was hungry then..she was not a blind wolf by any means and, could see Azul looking to her leftover meal. Masichuvio snorted once and stood taller moving to stand closer to Mingan when the large male wolf appeared. This wouldn't be good and, he knew it. He had tried to get her closer to her own kind but, Mingan refused to let males too close, something about them rather panicked his companion. The large obviously strong male would surely send her into a small fit so he kept himself close calming her immensely with his protective taller body. Body tensing the gray and black females eyes darted to the two new figures, her fur bristled defensively a low soft growl managing to escape her showing her discomfort in this situation. Male..big muscular powerful male. She wasn't a tiny little weak female but, she knew almost all males could take her down if she hunted alone without Masichuvio's constant watch. Her body kept it's rigid position as she moved stiffly to her left over kill. With a light sound she placed it before the pup then turned her ears pinning back as she eyed the male. "There is no problem now. " Her words came out softer than she had wanted making her mutter to herself in a voice too soft to hear. Males...why they irked her so she could and would never tell another it had just always been this way. Her first time in heat she had hidden herself far away in a very unpleasant bear cave that still reeked of it's former inhabitant. Still they pestered..followed howled at night searching but, Mingan did not want a weakling to just mate with. She needed someone who could get past her walls. After a few moments of staring she turned back to Azul. "Eat I can always kill more..I can also kill you something more substantial if you desire." Now her less tense eyes turned back to the green eyed male. "I have no patience for your...kind..so keep your distance please. " Flicking her tail the female moved off without another word. Masichuvio thoughtfully looked to the male wolf then the pup, then the lovely female doe before leaning down to eat some more grass. He never became phased any more when it came to Mingan. One thing however he did know for certain. She had never spoken so much to an adult male or used the word please. It was strange..perhaps she liked the look of the muscular wolf in some odd way but, no..that sounded odd even for her. Mingan sniffed the air searching for something to hunt her footsteps quiet as she moved through the trees and underbrush. She would find something for Azul to eat then leave..she muttered a bit as she searched possibly scaring game off. "Stupid male..hn..but different..than the others. Yes..strong. hmph.."

Ivorypoint He eyed the male pup lightly he had just hunted and had two rabbits with him. But there wasn't a choice of giving one away. He had needed to feed the two pups that he had back home. They weren't his sons by all means. But they would need food anyhow. With little Gamma count the Alpha had to hunt too. He tilted his head. "Within my pack we do not eat Deer." He wished to add on. "They make great companions when you need a heavy load lifted and got little wolf count. Also they don't eat meat so they're not in the food cache." he said attentively. "They make good friends when they're fawns and you kill a cougar trying to snatch a morning breakfast too.." He eyed Ivory.
Ivory piped up. "What about deer?.." She said, stupid to the fact she was what he was talking about. Well. She knew she was a deer. But it just wasn't good enough. Or did she know? She stood there patiently waiting for Niflheim to keep moving towards the packlands.
He looked to Mingan, "My dear. I maybe muscular but I am sure within a race to kill you, I would lose." He called himself lowly. But he had grown up beside small wolves. They were fast, easy to kill but only when you have the upperhand and enough diving-space. He watched her leave and looked to the youngin wolf. "Don't eye my rabbit please." He wouldn't be able to leave this pup rabbitless if he asked.

Azul watched as she carried her leftover meal over and plopped it in front of him.
''I...''
Much to his dismay, his stomach growled, and he couldn't deny that although they were just leftovers, it looked really appetizing. Azul looked up, and saw the two wolved exchange words. She turned her gaze back towards him, and wandered off. The other wolf also went after her.
Azul turned his attention back to the meal in front of him. He was still baffled. He just didn't understand why they would keep deer as companions. It was just... weird. He sighed. Maybe it was one of those things he'd understand if he was older.
He stared at the leftover rabbit. Why was she being so nice to him? Azul stiffened. It was true that he wasn't very adept at hunting yet, but was he really so pitiful that she thought he couldn't fend for himself? Azul nudged the meat. Or... could this be what they call... kindness...
Azul had never heard of the word, having to fend for himself since he was born. Hunger getting the best of him, he decided to ponder it later. Digging into the meat, he tore at the flesh, eating noisy. He had never been so hungry, and rabbit meat had never tasted so good.
Finishing off his meal, he sat there, still slightly hungry, but had no intention of eating the rabbit the other male had left. Eating someone's leftover scrap, even when offered, was bad enough, but to steal another wolf's meal... He had no doubt that male could easily make quick work of him. He stared up at the sky and wondered what he should do.
He decided to just sit and wait for the two to come back.

MasichuvioAs she moved through the trees the relaxed gray wolf smelled it. A rabbit, close by, close enough for the sly female to see it's twitching little nose. With a lunge she moved quickly her paws slamming against the earth but, the sly rabbit jerked to one side. Her snapping jaws barely missed it catching a bit of it's fluff but, no rabbit. Mingan could honestly say..she had never been this frustrated or annoyed in one day before. Growling faintly the female made a bit of a face getting rid of the fluff on her tongue the best she could. "Bleh..pitiful little creature! I will get you next time.." Huffing she looked to where the rabbit had escaped her, heart still hammering from the chase. Frustrated she moved back into the shadows, stalking..waiting..watching. This time she would kill one then another if she could find one. Two would make a fine meal for the hungry pup though, Mingan's own stomach still gnawed with hunger. She would have to ignore it..she didn't like to kill deer unless she lost a substantial amount of weight. Even then the female would only kill an older near death doe or buck, never the young ones or the healthy ones. After more searching and a few failed attempts the triumphant gray wolf turned back the way she had traveled. The three rabbits felt like too much in her mouth especially their fluff..yuck. Masichuvio stood waiting to see Mingan return before quietly looking the pretty doe over his blue eyes moving from her to the young pup Azul. The pup certainly needed more food...deer he realized might be a better bit of meat but, Mingan refused to kill his kindred unless she grew ravenous and, had no other choice. Quietly Mingan kept walking her tail wagging a bit behind her, the rabbits still annoying her making her stop a few times to sneeze at the fluff. "Ugh..fluffy beasts.." They tasted good but, some just had too much fur on them.

Istas Saorise sniffed eagerly at the scents of wild rabbit, She knew the scent from anywhere and her tail wagged in anticipation as she slipped silently through the forest, hardly remembering to keep the pace slow enough for her pup companion to keep up. "Its just up ahead Istas... don't you smell it?!" cyan blue orbs rolled as tiny paws worked hard to keep up with the larger strides of her companion. "I hope so... my legs are starting to hurt... I can't keep this pace much longer!" Istas whined as she continually tried to pick up on the scent that her mentor was apparently smelling.
Finally the scent caught her nose and she picked up pace to completely match Saorise's as they came barreling out of the trees. The female dived hard at the rabbit she had been hard chasing her teeth clamping down on it's neck shortly before she skidded out of the bushes and directly in front of Niflheim the large massive male scaring her for a moment as she quickly rolled and gracefully jumped back to her paws, rabbit hanging slack in her jaw's. Lime green eye's look over the situation carefully as she takes in the small blue male, two deer, and another lone female wondering near the bushes. Her ear's back she lets out a soft growl as she tries to figure out if she just put herself and Istas in a dangerous situation or not yet.
Istas slides through the clearing shortly after her older companion a yip of joy at watching the rabbit get caught. Unfortunately she skids to a halt behind the older female with her ears back as she takes note of their situation. "Saorise?..." she asks quietly her cyan eye's looking over to the blue pup Azul quizzically before giving a fearful glance up at the large obvious Alpha Male. letting out an unconscious whimper as all thoughts of her new meal fled her mind.

Ivorypoint His ears lifted as the femme landed before him. Taking a step back when things settled and Saorise calmed down. His chest puffed out a little to show his rank as she growled, but no response of growling resulted. Instead Ivory stepped forward with her antlers of white and she snorted. "Off her Ivorypoint. It was an accident." His barrel-chest vocals lifted once again. With that the doe lifted her rack and blinked down at the pup. A tailwiggle. Another pup? She loved pups!
To bad the adolescent back home hated her, or the sight of weakness in Niflheim. She scoffed a little in her thought process. Thinking her father as weak, that imbecile. No one thought of Niflheim that way! No one should. But as the pup whimpered she remembered who Niflheim represented; a pack. Lones.. Well. They didn't like packs. It was odd.
Niflheim shook his head and looked around. He then flicked his muzzle up at her. "Please, settle. Eat. There'll be no blood shed here." He sat upon his haunches to show he meant no harm. Behind him Ivory lowered the branch of berries and nibbled on just a few. Eyeing the stag just near her. A slight blush possibly passed to the other.

MasichuvioAs Mingan moved closer she heard a small few noises and, found herself hurrying a low growl already building. You could never be too careful, Masichuvio might be a strong wise older buck but, that didn't mean he couldn't get killed. Moving back to the small clearing of grass her ears pinned back eyes narrowing at the female wolf and, pup. More. More wolves..how wonderful. Slowly she edged around them and, to Azul. With a quiet plop she dropped two of the rabbits then moved to her companion. "Masichuvio..perhaps it would be wise to leave.." The buck didn't seem bothered and, snorted lightly before speaking in his low quiet voice. "No eat first Mingan then we can go back to traveling into the mountains. You need your strength." The gray female felt like protesting but, instead moved off a ways to settle closer to Masichuvio. She felt safest eating near him, in case something went wrong he would protect her and, give her time to strike back. Wit ha soft thump of her tail hitting the earth Mingan set to work tearing the fluff and fur off the rabbit, she hated the fur so much. "Bleh..so annoying to eat." After some time of picking at it she seemed satisfied and, began eating. Masichuvio leaned back down to eat again, feeling little fear from any of the wolves here. In fact the bucks attention didn't even contain the wolves it contained Ivorypoint and, then sometimes Mingan. When the rabbit had been eaten leaving the bones and, pelt behind the quiet, stoic female pushed back to her feet. Eying the four other wolves she finally gave in and, spoke "We have traveling to do..up into the mountains. Azul..if you don't wish to die I suggest you come along with me." It was not a question really, the pup was a bit big but, Mingan knew she could catch him and, carry him along. "Young ones need not be running about wild without protection anyways." Moving to the pup with Masichuvio at her heels the gray female again settled waiting for Azul to finish his meal. She knew she could carry him, not that she wanted to..Mingan wished to find out more about her past. That could only be done in the mountains where Masichuvio said he found her so long ago.
