It was a gorgeous Fall day. A little green Usdia was out in the sun, enjoying the warmth of what was sure to be one of the precious last few golden days before Winter hit. Vasi wasn't a fan of Winter. It was far too cold, and barely any flowers grew. The lack of flowers made her sad. Flowers always brightened up the world.
Thinking about the lack of flowers coming was also making her sad, so Vasi decided to focus on the present. It was such a nice day, so it wasn't too hard to put Winter out of her mind. With her tail swishing happily as the sun warmed her back, Vasi grazed in the browning grass, humming softly to herself.

Pahana made her way across the meadow, munching here and there on the grass. It wasn't nearly as good as the fresh shoots of spring, but it was the best she was going to have for a while. She made her way along the ground, lost in her thoughts of days that would soon be one of the only things to keep her through the cold months.

Vasi heard the hoof steps of the other horse before she saw her. Lifting her head, she looked around, guarded for the moment. You never knew who could be approaching, and with Ameer (her Squirrel Knight in Shining Armour) the princess was completely unprotected! She had to keep a wary eye, or the squirrel would never let her live it down.
Lifting her head up high, Vasi looked around to see who was coming. She could still hear the hoof beats, but still couldn't see the offending trespasser yet--oh there they were! A smile broke out on the green mare's face. It was another small pony like her!
"Why hello!" she called out, smiling wide. "How're you today?"

Pahana looked up at the sound of a voice, and tried to find the source of it. She finally saw the green mare, who rather matched the grass that was still green, and smiled as she trotted closer. "Why Hello." She noticed that she was still smaller then this mare still, but at least they were closer in size. "How are you doing this fine day?"

"I'm wonderful!" Vasi chimed, positively beaming at the other mare. "Its a lovely day, how could I not be! How are you?"
"Oh! I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Vasilisa, but you can call me Vasi if you'd like."

She smiled, and looked around. "It is rather lovely. Sad to think soon it's going to be rather cold." She took a step forward, and nodded her head in greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you Vasi. I am Pahana. It's actually nice to meet someone closer to my size at least. I thought I might be the only one that was small. All the others I've met, I only come to about knee-height on them."
Pahana looked around, and noticed that there were no others here. "Are you here by yourself?" she asked, surprised. Though, then again, Pahana wasn't exactly traveling with anyone else either.

Vasi nodded, agreeing to both points. "It is a shame that winter's coming. I don't really like winter. Its too cold."
"Yeah, I haven't meet very many small horses either. It's nice when you do though! The big horses are nice too though. I meet a very friendly one named Chane once. I liked him." She smiled wide at Pahana then looked around as well.
"Well. Right now, other than you, I'm by myself. I usually don't travel alone though. My knight Ameer is off doing knightly things, I suppose." She didn't seem all that concerned that she was unprotected. "Why are you travelling alone?"

"Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in being small. Though, you are still bigger then me. You're closer in size then those others at least." She smiled at Vasi
Pahana felt a little embarassed. "Well, I get distracted easily. I'm usually off dreaming of something, and half the time, I really don't know where I end up. I'm new around here, so I don't have a lot of friends, and I'm not sure that they would be able to keep up with me even if they traveled with me, because, I never know when my feet are going to just wonder and my heads going to be up in a cloud." She reached down to itch her hose on a hoof, almost in a gesture similar to a person scratching their head.
