Name: Serah Eos

Age: 17

Birthday: February 2nd

Sign: Aquaris

Height: 4'11"

Favorite Food: Sweet desserts. One wonders why she doesnt get fat ):

Hated Food: Salty. Anything salty, she will not touch it with a 3 foot pole.

School: Crystal Academy -- Graduated!

Gemstone: Amethyst

Hobbies:

Bunny time - This is an obsession. One that is far beyond repair. You don't even want to look in her room, everything there is bunny themed. It's bad enough that she's got a dozen hairclips, bunny accessories on her phone and a bunny bag (and a bunny weapon) but her room is full of them. Why doesn't she have a pet bunny? Well-- the items are cuter than the actual mammal. See, that mammal just.. sits there. Passively.

"Little colorful nothings" - There are sweet nothings, converted to a less intimate format. Serah loves to leave behind little gifts or reminders that she's there for you, like little stickers on a surprise card send to someone or a flower with a little ribbon left on their window or porch. Maybe, pass on a piece of candy, if you're feeling down. Sometimes she does this unintentionally or accidentally, her scattered nature often leaving obvious remainders of her presence. There might be a pink little flower left behind or a sweet suspicious cotton-candy scent-- something to indicate that she was there.

Late-night walks - Serah loves the night air. She agrees with the paradoxical saying that a cigarette tastes best in the clear night air. Everything is better in the cold night air! Can't find Serah? Just look for the spot nearby which probably has a lot of stars for her to walk and lie down to look at. Don't worry, she probably left behind a note to the general area she's heading to if she's not in the nearby vicinity. Finding Serah away from her bed after her nightly bathtime is the usual.

Virtues:

Slidin' down the rails - When it comes to Serah, it's flashy in vivacious manner. Even that pink hair, by default, is flashy. She's not afraid to make a show with her hair, clothes or accessories, believing firmly in adapting to one's own style. Energetic, cheerful and accompanied with a penchant for hugs, Serah's enthusiastic confidence combined with her playful side, loves to engage in anything she thinks is amusing (which would be nearly everything.)

"Never not" - There's very little she won't do for a friend, acquaintance or stranger. If the circumstances allow even the littlest room to do so, she will! Of course she can cover for you, lend you her notes, talk with you on the phone etc. The list is endless. It doesn't matter if she has an appointment in five minutes, she'll call them and explain, delay or run there afterwards. The only exception is when the circumstances are impossible, if she's broke, she can't lend you the money. There are almost never any situations in which she can't bring herself to accommodate, including joining up with the enemy if necessary!

100% frontal - Her personality and fighting style can be aptly termed as a complete frontal assault with everything she's got. There is no ulterior motive, hidden emotions or subtle desires. She's a one-on-one type of conversationalist and battler, with an abhorrence for cheating, tricks or lies. She's as simple as she looks. Give Serah a hand of cards to play, with different situations each time, you'll find that Serah faces the occasion with the same thorough passion that she gives everything else in life. She's really not good at giving up at all.

Ideal Optimism - Generally, her approach to life is that everything is a good experience and everything u-turns up eventually. Even though things often prove otherwise, Serah's always been the type to try and see the silver lining. Don't let things get you down, you can only keep going, the sky's the limit! Even if you get stuck in a horribly bad situation, there's always a silver lining, even if it's only a inch long. But it's there! If not, then you can always make your own. She's scary persistent when it comes to these sort of things. Do you feel better noooooow?

Flaws:

Defensive - Serah is the team rocket member that's transparent and slips up with information. Moved easily to emotional thoughtless impulses/outbursts and whimsical desires, she doesn't hold back, even if she's trying to. When the trainer calls the team rocket grunt out on x-topic, the team rocket grunt gets defensive and covers it with a bad defense. Exactly like Serah. Like many other females, Serah can get a little bit sensitive and when angry or defensive, her barbs come in a passive-aggressive manner or panicked anger. However, Serah's frontal aspect of her personality never allows herself to reign in her passive-aggressive manner for long, often erupting into arbitrary confrontations.

Naive - There is always a silver lining in people and there's no reason why you shouldn't give them a chance. Serah tries to stick to the quaint motto, that there's good in everyone, trying her best to give everyone even the littlest bit of credit (even if its over-crediting them.) She tries hard to stick by your side (even reluctantly) because everyone needs second chances. .. or third, fourth, fifth and the number count continues on. It doesn't matter, Serah will always find a way to stand in front of your door and come back. Often taking the blame for situations that were never her fault to begin with and setting herself up to accommodate others, she ends up with the shorter end of the stick.

Harder on herself - While the concept of peer pressure and peer influence have little reign over Serah, she's her own worst critic. She can always work harder, better and more efficiently. She has her own set of standards and if she can't reach them, the climb up is the boiling point. It's ok if you can't, it's not okay if she can't. When Serah is criticizing herself or down in the hole of depression, she can make up fifty million reasons of where she went wrong where there was only one. She's in her own world when it comes to what's bad about herself and what is an okay mistake for someone else is disastrous applied to Serah.

Kindness is selfish - Serah is not a leader, she can't choose for the good of the situation. She can't step or choose one over the other, only trying to get them all adequately satisfied. Serah wishes that everyone she cares about could be happy or for everything to work out. If forced to make a choice, she'd rather choose all of the above or none at all. (Hello multiple choice, where's your E, choose everything above?) But socially, this kind of well-intended personality does not work. Serah tries to help both sides or completely stick out of it (good try!) When faced with the inevitable countdown to choose, this is the most dramatic moment of her life. She has a mountain of regrets no matter what so she drags this out in a messy and tiresome affair, it doesn't help that her confrontational skills are at a all time low.

Serah has a lovely set of virtues, but unfortunately the flaws need a lot of work. As a quick reminder, these are the criteria a flaw needs to follow in order to count...

1. They are applicable in a general sense / a wide variety of situations
2. They are readily observable by other characters
3. They are a reason for others to look down on, dislike, or disrespect your character.

The way Insecure reads off to me, it basically says that she tries her best, fails sometimes and is privately sad about it. This is more of a description of human nature than a flaw. If she has poor confrontational skills or is bad at handling fast-paced situations, focus on that instead -- those ARE good flaws.

I'm also having trouble seeing the negative side of Barriers. She is always smiling, even when she isn't happy, and this is bad... why? How is it "easy to see through," and how does this negatively affect others? This reads off more like something she dislikes about HERSELF, and not something that others are going to dislike about her. It also directly contradicts her Transparent trait: here you are saying that she puts up a smiling emotional facade, and in Transparent you are saying that she is completely incapable of hiding her emotions. Which one is it?

I think this should be replaced with something else. For example, since a lot of her traits focus on her cheery nature, you can address how she keeps that attitude even in innappropriate situations. Or maybe she isn't aware that some problems can't be solved with smiles and hugs, and her trying to handle everything the same way can make her seem overbearing or even insensitive!

Speaking of Transparent, this trait is a bit too neutral to really work as a virtue OR a flaw. She's bad at hiding emotions, but this has just as high a chance of being a good thing as it does at being a bad thing. If she acts poorly when confronted or called out, as you described, maybe a better flaw would be Oversensitive or Defensive? I've seen her act pretty defensively / passive-aggressively in RPs with my own characters as well as others, so that might be one worth putting down.

Whimsical Sense of Rules COULD work, but only if you can clearly describe how it causes others to dislike her. Does she get annoyed when people don't follow her rules, even if she doesn't know them? Does she refuse to carry out a mission if it's not planned out in the way she wants?

Hey there, sorry for the huge delay in getting to these revisions.

Defensive is good, but I think you're still having an issue finding flaws that other people would actually see for the others.

Naive could work, though I think you should add a small note about how her naivity gets her friends or teammates into trouble as opposed to herself. Most people aren't going to care if you get in trouble because of something, but once it starts to affect them they're more likely to get annoyed.

I don't really see much of a way that Harder of Herself or Kindness is Selfish affects other people. They're things that weigh on her and upset her emotionally, but not really anything anyone else would notice, let alone possibly dislike her for.

One possible suggestion I have for a flaw is how her overly sweet/cheerful/over the top personality might annoy or grate on certain characters? Actually I see now that Mouse suggested something similiar, so I second that. XD

If you changed Harder on Herself to apply to other people and gave her generally high standards of people that might work. Does she get annoyed when people don't work for things and just whine about them instead?
