A light chirping nose awoke Wyn'tr from her dream, one where she had been chasing her prey; a defenseless bird. Moaning and twitching, Wyn'tr let out a loud yawn while blinking the the sleep out of her eyes. Shivering a little, as it was fast becoming winter, she stuck her nose in the air and nearly choked as she snorted the bitter cold air in to quickly. Looking to her left, she made sure she didn't disturb her family; papa, mama, her sister and her brother. Feeling adventureous, Wyn'tr decided it was time to go off on her own for a bit without her siblings and parents.
But what she didn't know was that Raimi, her father, had been awoken by her loud morning habits. A soft, sleepy smile graced his face. Wyn'tr really was an adorable thing. Raimi looked over at this mate Shaila and his other young ones, eyes softening even more. He really was blessed to have such a wonderful family. Reaching over he licked Shaila warm cheek in affection.
A sound alerted him that Wyn'tr was on the move and he was right. His pup was at the lip of their current den. With a shake to dispel the rest of the sleepy feeling, Raimi followed behind quietly. Though in all honest, it wouldn't be that hard as at times Wyn'tr did get lost in thought. Which he really need to work on her with that, distraction was not something a wild dog could afford if they wanted to live. But she was still young yet and there was still plenty of time.
Wyn'tr wandered around oblivious to the fact her father was following her. "'lo mister bunbun!" Wyn cooed to the passing creature who had frozen at the sight of a wild dog. "Lawly day nin it? (lovely day isn't it)" Her lisp became more pronounced as she talked out loud. The sound of her voice startled the rabbit and caused it to run away as quick as its little self could get away. "Daw." Her tail and ears drooped. "Com'bac! I's just wanna pay!" Frustrated she pawed the ground angerily and shook her head with a sigh. "Oh wells."
Raimi snorted. His daughter was just too cute sometimes. A smile broke his face as he watched her talk to the fuzzy creature they usually used as a food source. Rai sayed close enough but not too close, it was good to let his daughter have some independence. "Oh-" He stood up and made as if to go help her when she got stuck in a hole, but then he saw as she figured it out. "Good girl." He mumbled under his breath.
Wyn'tr paused after she had gotten stuck. Being short sometimes was very hard business, especially when things were bigger than you. She could have sworn she heard her daddy talk and with narrowed eyes she tilted her little head she looked around to see if he was around. "Dada? You is here? Awo?" Wyn howled out a short inquiry as she often did to get others attention. “No hide! No like it!”
"Ah," The jig was up he thought with amusement and chuckled. "You found me out." He stepped out from his hiding spot and laughingly answered her high pitched pup voice. "You sure do have good ears little love!" Rai watched his daughter wiggle her way towards him happily. She definitely was a daddies little girl and he simply adored being the center of her world. At least for the moment and hopefully for some time in the future. "What were you up too little love?"
"Um," Wyn sneezed and scratched her ear with her back paw before answering. "Well just 'plorin' I guess... nuttin' special. I sorry I woked you up daddie. I tried to be quiet! I DID SO HARD... but I guess it didn't work too well." She grinned sheepishly up to her daddy. "And .... i left cause I was bored.. AND I KNOW I shoulda left 'cause it's not safe and and.. sorry." Wyn brought up her most powerful weapon, one her daddy couldn't help but fall prey too. Her puppy-dog eyes. Not too watery and not too pouty. She had been perfecting it with her day and she could tell it was somewhat working.
Rai chuckled. "You did really good-" He used his paw to draw Wyn'tr closer to his body heat and bent his head to whisper. "-but when you a daddy you know when one of your pups have wandered off. It's a special power." He winked and silently chuckled to himself when he saw his daughters expression. She was so cute and innocent...sadly that innocence wouldn't last long as the world tended to eat you up and spit you out. Only the strong survived if you were lucky enough. He some times wished he could rap her in a safe place and never let her get hurt; physically or mentally. He sternly looked at his daughter. " Put those puppy-dog eyes away Wyn'tr. I'm glad you know the rules, but I still am disappointed you wandered off alone. There are many things out there that can hurt a pup. Like lions or hyena's, it is not safe for one so small. You don't even have your claws."
Wyn felt her ears droop at the reprimand as well as the claw comment. It sucked being little sometimes. "Sorry again daddie... I pwomise to get you first if I ever wanna go for a walk." She knew she was forgiven when her daddy brought her close to his body and Wyn nuzzled deeply into his belly fur with a snuffle. Pack was everything and Wyn loved this feeling.
"Come on Wynnie gal," Rai placed a paw on top of her head and nudged gently. " It's time to head back home. Your mother will be worried as will your brothers and sisters. We have been gone for some time now. Plus I'm sure your mother has something for all to eat. She's resourceful like that." Rai winked down at his daughters smiling face and nodding head. A warmth traveled down his body and for once in his life Rai was content and happy with the way things were going.
