Age of Empires Information
Age of Empires II Information
Age of Empires III Information
As with my other topics, I have enjoyed playing this series.
Though I'm not considered a hardcore player of this series, I loved playing as either the Chinese or Japanese. I also loved using cavalry as opposed to infantry, archers, siege weapons, and ships. Something about the way you see a battalion of iron-clad warriors riding equally well armored horses wielding long spears of destruction makes the whole situation look so ******** epic.
Now, to start things off, which of the games have you played, which units do you enjoy using more then the others, what kinds of strategies do you use to deal with difficult situations, and which civilization do you use the most?

I've played both Ages of Empire II and AOE III. played more II than III. Can't really say my favorite civilizations but I do remember using a cheat in AOE III so I get a tonka truck unit and slaughter everything...

thor1005 I've played both Ages of Empire II and AOE III. played more II than III. Can't really say my favorite civilizations but I do remember using a cheat in AOE III so I get a tonka truck unit and slaughter everything...
LOL! I enjoyed playing Age of Empires I & II more than III. Reason was simple. I like iron-clad knights slicing away at people other than using guns to do the job.

If I really wanted to use guns I would go play Starcraft or something similar. (:

Well, i gotta say that i played AOE II and III, my favorite civilizations wher: AOE II: english, teutons. AOE III: i dot remember their names but they mixed barracks with guard towers.... Pretty cool. Any of you have ever played AOM?

I believe you're talking about the Russians for AE3. And if AOM means Age of Mythology, than I believe I have. It's the game where you can summon titans to WTFBBQ your enemies, right?

Yeah the russians!!
And yes it is Age of mithology, and the titans appear at the expansion pack, pretty cool to use cerberus to crush ur enemys XD

Galain Fletchawk I've only played the first one. But it was fun and enjoyed it.
I enjoyed using the Hoplite/Phalanx unit. Only thing that I hated out of the first AOE was the inability to automatically refresh used up farms. That's why I enjoy old age wars with AOE2 these days...though I do miss the nomad setting.

Metus Aquinas Galain Fletchawk I've only played the first one. But it was fun and enjoyed it. I loved those units. Backed up with some ranged cavalry and they were unstoppable.

Ah Age of Empires I remember playing this game series for quite some time a few years back. Its definitely one of my most favorite realistic RTS's on the PC. Second favorite actually in all honesty since Company of Heroes is my 1st favorite realistic RTS.

Really? What about Dungeon Siege, Halo, Rise of Nations, Age of Mythology, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and Zoo Tycoon? I found all of them to be very enjoyable and good games. Sure a good many of them weren't made by Microsoft...but at least they published them right, lol?
