Pack life had started a rhythm for him, he doubted he would be able to go back to living as before, alone. This pack was now his family, even if they didn't have any blood ties to him. As he grew from pup to adolescent the spikes grew on his back, he now saw how different he was from the others, but that didn't seem to matter to Star or the rest of them. This would always be his home.
He still usually woke early, something that had yet to pass from his old life. Lifting himself from his place on his wolf pelt the adolescent moved to the front of the cave. The winds were blowing hard, it had gotten colder, change was coming. He remembered the adults speaking of winter and he was beginning to see what they meant. Half shivering he pulled himself back into the warmth of the den.

Star woke up seeing Zakiax at the entrance then came back. She got up, silently walking around then sat next to Zakiax. "Is there something wrong? If you need anything just ask, okay?" She nuzzled him.

"Its cold out," He replied back softly, mainly stating the obvious. "Hunt for breakfast?" he stated making it more of a question as he asked for permission to do so. He had gotten quite better at hunting since he was a pup.

"If you want to I will, we are out of food." Star stood up.
Tera seem Star get up so she walked over. "Do you mind if I go?"
"Yea me two, I love running with sexy chicks!" Lock stood up. "I promise I wont bite.....hard." He always made himself seem like an a**, it's not his fault he's an a**, he was born that way.

"Coming too," insisting that he would help hunt for breakfast. It was cold yes, but sooner or later he would have to get used to it, and he preferred sooner then later. Glancing back at the wolf pelt he decided to leave it behind, not wanting to lose it, plus it was quite bigger then himself still. Though if Star told him to stay behind he would, he wouldn't want to hold up the hunting party now.

They left the den.
"Okay, now here's the plan, I will go for the neck, Lock, you attack the ribs, Tera you go for the back, Zakiax you are going to go for the chest, so when we slow it down, you grab and tear at the neck to slow it even more down. The weaker this buck is, the safer. Stay away from the hoofs, we are going to go for a buck, so everyone be careful. They don't have their antlers right now. Zakiax, if there is trouble, I want you to back away, I don't want you hurt. Everyone understand?" Star said while leading them silently to the fields where the dear feed at this time in the day. Not looking back once as she spoke.
"Got it boss! Ribs for me." He knew his task was easy, just attack over and over for it to weaken it.
"Yup, the spine is good for me." She didn't mind the high spot, because she was a good jumper.

The adolescent nodded, but there was little doubt in his mind that he would back off it danger struck. He couldn't just leave his friends and family in the way of danger it just wasn't like him. The male followed behind the rest of them, willing to do his part in this hunt.

Star leads the group out, eventually reaching the field, they intentionally snuck up down wind. There was one large buck, she could tell he was irritated by something, then realized the buck already had a wound on his left leg. She figured he was protecting the weak. She whispers. "Okay guys, that's our target, she pointed to the buck. He is already injured so speed wont be a huge problem. Lock, you go on the right, Tera, go the opposite side, Zakiax, I want you to sneak on the right over there. "
"done Boss" Lock crept to the right.
"gone" Tera crept behind Lock to get to the opposite side of the field.
"Zakiax, this is important, I want you to lock your vision only on that male, ignore all the rest, just get a hold of him and tear with all your might. My signal is when I nod my head, do you got that? Stay hidden in the forest, remember that."

Nodding once more the pup left to take his place among the trees, disappearing in the thick brush. There he would wait for the signal to attack and contribute his part to the hunt to make it a successful one.

Star waited until everyone were in their places, then locked her eyes on the buck. It moved into the middle of the field, still irritated by its wound, she noticed it was really limping, time was perfect. She then closed her eyes, took a deep relaxing breath. then nodded and raced out towards the buck.
Tara ran out at the buck, then Lock popped out.

Quick as his little paws could carry him he launched himself out at the Buck, moving swiftly from his hiding place. Between a large mess of teeth and claws he managed to hit his target his teeth sinking deeply into the neck of the buck. He used all his might to rip at the flesh, his claws attempting to get a firm hold within the buck's skin.

The buck screamed kicking out at the four of them.
Star ripped out his throat, she had to make sure Zakiax was okay, so she was going to rush it, it will make a bigger mess, but least Zakiax will learn how to hunt with more then one. She remembered him bringing home the dead wolf. He had great talent, she had injured it fatally, but it wouldn't have died for at least a few days. He was a little mystery, but a very cute one. She loved Zakiax. She loved all her pack, but Zakiax had something diff about him.
Lock ripped and tore chunks from the buck, squirting blood onto him, which he kinda liked being covered in blood, made him feel more wild, but he would have to wash it off, so he wouldn't attract problems.
Tera grabbed hold and yanked hard, making the beast loose more and more strength, blood now dripping down, it tasted great.
The buck eventually fell, then screamed one last scream, then stopped moving.
Star was happy, they all did a great job.

Letting go of the buck the smaller male slightly beamed with pride. He felt that he had done a good job with this hunt. Well a good enough job he was capable of. "Good?" he questioned wondering if they thought that he had done a good job. Zak licked his blood stained muzzle.

"You did a very good job Zakiax" Star nuzled him
"You are gonna be quite the hunter." Tera agreed
"Okay, since I'm the biggest, i guess i have to toss this buck on my back and bring him home"
"I have carried more" Star pointed out.
"You don't have to say that, I'm trying to impress the pup!" He lifted up the buck. the legs dragged on the ground as well did the head.
Star laughed.

"I'm going to be knight," he stated, puffing out his chest a bit. It was then when an noise caught his ears, the snapping of twigs. He stepped away from the group to investigate. Ears twitching his head turned towards the source. He was soon face to face with five wolves had stalked up upon them, a hunting party no less, looking to retrieve the kill from the Krokotas. A low growl escaped the adolescent. "Dogs,"
"My, my, my, what do we have here," The leader of their party growled. " A malformed pup with attitude"
