Christopher parked the car at a fair distance from the toy store and then got out. He walked around to the back door and opened it. He leaned in and began to undo Tobias's seat buckles, when he noticed that the toddler had once again taken his shoes off. "These have to stay on, or we can't go in." He stated gruffly as he put the shoes back on the boy. Tobias made an uncomfortable face once they were all the way on, but made no effort to take them off again. No, that'd be for later.
Once inside, all it took was for Christopher to look the other way just once. Tobias immediately seized the moment and took off running. He didn't need some stuffy old man looking over his shoulder every step of the way. He ran along the aisles until he reached the far back corner, where the history figurines were. There, he settled down among the knights in shining armor, the dragons, and the other mythical creatures. They were special, just like him.
Only a few minutes earlier, Enosio had arrived on the scene with Zahur in tow. The kid didn't seem particularly interested in any of River's old toys, and Eno figured he deserved some of his own, and so he'd taken Zahur to the same place he took River when he was younger. They'd eventually made their way to the very same corner Tobias had taken refuge in. Eno had immersed himself in reading, he figured Zahur would at least say something to him before wandering off. He was a good kid like that.

Zahur was...pleased to say the least, about being in this aisle of the toy store. The toys were so detailed and well made, it was a pleasure just to look at them, and really, that's all he really wanted to do anyway. Zahur was odd by many standards of being a toddler. Sometimes people wondered just what was going on in his little mind, and truth be told, neither did Zahur. He just went with the flow, like some sort of new age hippy or something.
He had found a brightly colored bird with it's wings extended. It was the color of fire. He picked it up gently and began, as other looker ons would describe it, examining it. He would call it 'playing'. He looked at the detailing on the feathers, the beak, the talons. It was all so well made, and a smile slowly spread on his face. Yes. He was going to like this section a lot.
"Daddy," he said, peering up at his reading father. "I wike tings like dis," he stated, holding out the phoenix for his father to view. "Could I picks out a few moars to play wis?" For a toddler, he was very aware of a thing called a budget, perhaps because he got a sort of 'I can't buy you everything' sort of talk before going into a toy store for the first time ever.
It was then when he caught sight of Tobias, and very carefully moved the bird to a steady one hand and offered a small wave with his newly freed one.

Eno looked up from his reading to stare at the toy Zahur had picked up. "Of course," he paused and picked one up to look at the price. "You can get five of them, okay? Then if there's nothing else in the store you like, we can come back and you can get a sixth one." He smiled a bit, and glanced over to Tobias since Zahur was now waving at him.
Tobias peeked around the edge of the shelf to see if Christopher had found him, which thankfully he hadn't. When he turned back around he noticed Zahur waving at him. He had yet to interact with anyone else his age, and so a bit of a smile came to his face and he waved back.
"Hello." He crawled a little closer, sitting himself down next to Zahur. He then let his eyes wander over the figurines, and then picked up one of a black dragon spewing fire out of it's mouth. "Thees cool huh?" He looked to Zahur once more, wondering if the boy could hear him speaking or not.

Zahur blinked for a moment. There was a voice echoing in his mind, which was odd because even his own was never really heard, but then again he never tried LISTENING for himself in his own mind. If he wanted to hear himself he would just speak.
"Tank yew daddy," he said with a nod, making sure to be polite to his father and show his appreciation before turning to the small boy who had lifted a dragon up at him and a voice commenting on it in his head. Reasonable thought was the voice was the boys, and he just communicated in a different way then most people did.
Zahur was fine with this.
"Yes," he said as he leaned down to get a better look at the dragon the boy was holding. Like the phoenix, it was wonderfully detailed. Zahur couldn't help but be especially drawn to the dragons wings and maw, the line work was just amazing.
"I Zahur," he said finally after a few moments looking at the dragon. He looked at Tobias, waiting for the voice to once again resound in his mind.

"You're welcome." Eno continued to observe the children, wondering how on earth Zahur knew what the boy was saying, he hadn't heard a thing from him, and he hadn't seen his lips move at all.
"M'Tobias... yew can cawl me Tobi tho." He nodded his head a little. "Can I see the birdy?" He offered the dragon to Zahur in exchange for the phoenix, it's colors were quite attractive. He'd of course give it back, he just wanted to see it up close.
By this time Christopher had arrived in the area and was beginning to search the aisles for his tiny charge with a rather frustrated expression on his face.

Zahur looked like he was listening again, and after those few moments he nodded slowly.
"Ok, Tobi," he said, because speaking it always help him remember before he held out the bird he was holding to Tobi with one hand and then taking the dragon with his free hand. Once the transaction had been completed he started running a finger over some of the details. Quite fun, at least for this odd little toddler.
"Nice," he said with a nod, looking at Tobias for a moment, then having the sudden thought that maybe daddy could not hear Tobi. Maybe he could only mind speak with one person at a time, so he looked at his father again.
"Dis is Tobi," he said with a nod. "He can talks to me in heres," he explained, poking his temple.
Simple explanation, right?

"Thanku." Tobias accepted the phoenix and examined it closely, taking in all the different colors in what could be called a mild sort of awe. He glanced up when Zahur started speaking to his father, explaining that he was speaking with his mind.
This time the sound of giggling was audible to both of them. "Freeks Mama 'n Da out too. 'n Mertle 'n Cristofer." He nodded a bit. Just then, Christopher chanced upon their aisle and stood at the end of it, eyes focused on Tobias.
"There you are. I've been looking all over the store for you, you mustn't run off like that." He took a deep breath, trying to contain the frustration and anger swelling up inside of him.
"Got new friend, be naiss." A threatening look crossed Tobias's face, but it disappeared when he looked back to Zahur and Eno. "Dis Cristofer, he werks fer me." A sly sort of grin crossed over his face. He wasn't too old, but he knew that phrase was more than enough to make Christopher's pulse skyrocket.
Eno could really only silently watch and listen to what was going on. Once Zahur pointed out that he could hear Tobias in his mind, he began to panic, thinking it was something else that was going on, but then Tobias happened to giggle in his own mind. And then of course, a butler showed up. Eno couldn't help but wonder if he was the only father of a Meta that wasn't dirty rich. "That's... pretty cool." He cracked a bit of a smile, doing his best to ignore the tension between Christopher and Tobias.

Zahur looked to Tobi and then to Christopher. He closed his speckled eyes and bowed slightly to the older gentleman.
"H'lo Miser Chrissopher," he said. "Is nice to meechu." He made sure to tack on the mister, as he was an adult that was not his father, therefore it was only fair to treat him with the respect that all adults should be treated with. Sure, Tobi did not introduce him with that title, but then again, Zahur wasn't Tobi, now was he?
He looked at the figurines again. There were normal animals here as well as the more mythical ones. There were so many that he was unsure what ones to look at next.
"Whuts your favorite animal Tobi?" he asked, eyes not off the lines of figures. He paused a moment, thinking for a moment. "And yours too Miser Chrissopher."

Tobi looked over the figurines again, searching for the best one. He picked up a Peregrine Falcon. "I laik this one best. Wha' 'bout yew?" Tobi continued to look the falcon over, from then on ignoring Christopher's existence.
Christopher was momentarily taken aback at such politeness coming from someone so young, it was quite the refresher compared to Tobias's demands and constant misbehavior. "Pleasure to meet you as well, uhm..." He broke off, realizing Tobias had not told him the boy's name, nor his father's name.
"Name is Zahur. Dunno Daddy's name, jus' daddy." Tobias offered without looking up.
"Zahur. And you are...?" He looked to Eno, and extended a hand slowly. At first he hadn't noticed the fluffy white ears on Eno's head, or the tail that hung around his legs, but upon further inspection it threw him off guard.
"Enosio." Eno took Christopher's hand lightly and shook it, and was then quick to fold his arms across his chest again.
"Well, pleasure to meet you as well." Christopher offered what could only be called an uncomfortable smile and looked down at Zahur again once being addressed. "A horse, they're useful animals." He responded with a nod.

Zahur picked his phoenix back up and sat it next to his father's feet so he would not lose track of it. He then went over to Tobias and picked up one of the falcons and looked at it. It was just as nice as the others, very well crafted. He nodded before looking at Tobi.
"I dunno. Alls are nice..." he mused before taking the falcon over to where the phoenix was and sat it next to the first. There was two, so he could get three more. Two plus three equaled five. He smiled, as that reminded him of one of his favorite books, which was just simple mathematical flash cards. Remember, Zahur's thoughts of 'fun' were very askew. He loved it when his father went over them with him.
H then went over to the figurines again. There were lots of different horses, and after a few moments he picked up one that was armored, a knight's horse. It had the most interesting details out of all of the horses. He looked at it in his hands before walking over and setting it down.
"Three," he said aloud.

"Yew gettin' those?" Tobi watched curiously as Zahur began to take the figurines and set them next to Eno's feet. "Cristofer, I wanna get some too so I can play wif Zahur." He turned his head to Christopher and stared up at him expectantly. Christopher skimmed over the history information that was posted next to the toys and then nodded slowly. "Very well... I think the Missus will approve of these toys." He shifted his weight from one leg to the other.
"Mama dusn't have to 'prove, I wanna has fun." Tobi shrugged and set his falcon to the side, and then grabbed the dragon from before and set it down next to it. "How many yew gonna get?"
