Did you guys know that over in San Francisco they are trying to get rid of Happy Meals? Well this group see, they are trying to get rid of Happy Meals and what-not, because they believe that the McDonald's Corporation, uses the happy meal toys to get kids to eat their s**t. That is not true kids and parents buy the happy meals on their own free will. McDonald's does NOT force anybody to buy their s**t. I understand that this group, they want kids to eat healthy and what-not thats one thing: But when you got them saying that they want the Govt. to step in and tell us what to eat and what not to eat, then thats when you've crossed the line.
Same thing with Cigarettes, people buy those on their own free will too. The Tobacco Companies dont force you to go out buy them and smoke them. And there is actual evidence that they can cause lung cancer. But people choose to smoke them anyway and they should if they want, because it goes along with freedom and the ability to choose.

Mcdonalds retaliated.
They're gonna market happy meals now for adults so they can tell their kids what's in it from now on. i see "FAILURE" written all over this plan.

I was at my tattoo shop the other day, and one of the guys had just come back from Dublin, because they have another shop over there. He has brought my artist back a pack of cigarettes, on the package in bold black & white says "CIGARETTES KILL". That's the warning label. No one cares. That's not going to stop them if they want it. I don't see the point in wasting time & effort on it.

If you read the stastics on this matter, it has a lot to do with the fact that instead of parents making sure their kids eat right, they just go get fast food for them. That way they get the toy, the unhealthy food, and shut up. I was fed more fast food in the 1990's than either of my siblings who were born in the 1980's. They just want to try and calm down the obesity that is happening in our kids. Look up the stastics. Some girl in a class did a project on this and it's disguesting. That's why the government wants to step in. We, as Americans, are getting bigger and bigger each year. Not just as adults, but mainly as kids.
But no, it won't stop McDonald's from selling Happy Meals, just like with cigarettes. If parents ARE more educated into what they are placing into their children's diet, they could calm the obesity down? I don't know, but it needs to be more known about fast food, that's for sure.

That being said nine times outta ten alot of kids get happy meals just for the toys anyway, I know I do, I cant help it they got some freshness in them meals. And also do you think they will start putting surgeon general warnings on fast food?

Lol Im not sure why it's considered big news that kids get happy meals for the toys. Duh. They also get them though because it's fast, their parents don't have to cook, and because you can take cardboard, pump it full of MSG, fry it and make it taste good. The root of the problem is parents not having the time or energy to cook for their kids anymore IMHO. That's the problem that needs to be fixed.
