This is a private roleplay between Sun Huojin [kotaline] and Sakngea [lungrot].

Setting:
All Sakngea wants is a little peace and quiet. All Huojin wants is the disrupt the peace and make some noise. This won't end wel.

Huojin had been in an accident.

This was not the kind of accident that boys his age usually got into. Huojin was actually on fire (albeit it was a small one), and though he was used to this kind of thing by now, he was still slightly panicked. For starters, it hadn't happened in his workshop, where he kept a barrel of watter for such occasions, but outside. He should have known better than to try to fiddle around with his latest model before he tested it, but he was going to test it in just a few moments, he had just noticed a small design flaw. He didn't think it would be a particularly difficult fix, but it had proven him wrong by both exploding in his hands and combusting his hair. Luckily, it had been a small firecracker and he had his gloves and goggles on, but that still left his head to deal with. Without thinking, he charged to the nearest source of water and jumped in, shouting "Sorrysorrysorrycoming through-" to the men in the boats around him before he was cut off by impact with the water's surface. With a splash that seemed too large for someone of his small stature, he submerged for a few moments, the surface of the water bubbling until he emerged.

"-and that's when it exploded, and there was nothing I could do but jump in!" he continued as he broke the surface, spitting out water and coughing. Apparently he had continued his speech while he was underwater. "I mean, my mother just cut it, if I came home and it was all burned off, she'd kill me, or at least frown very deeply, you know? I hate it when they don't even scold you and just frown, isn't that even worse than being punished? It is for me, I just can't handle the guilt." Paddling to keep himself afloat, he turned to the boat closest to him and added, "Anyway, my hair isn't burned off, so I guess it doesn't matter. Do you have this problem often? I find that not many people usually know what I'm talking about, honestly, it gets a little annoying sometimes, but then again, people tell me I have problems communicating. I don't really get that either though, since it feels like I'm always talking!" He looked at the boatman expectantly, having finally stopped talking.

The day had gone well.

Sakn had toiled away under the sun, working with his father and crewmates net and haul in fish all day, and while his muscles were sore and his back stiff, the redhead felt accomplished. To reward himself for his good work(though being out at sea fishing was never something that truly needed reward) the young redhead and happily accepted an offer made by Kiet-a fiesty green-haired man only a few years Sakn's senior and crewmate- to join him, Som and Ji Seok when they went fishing after the skiff was tied up.

From there, things only seemed to get better. The four of them sat happily together, talking and telling wild stories, being loud and laughing. And at one point Som and Ji Seok got out of the small boat they were in and wrestled on land. Sakn had cheered them on happily, and afterwards they grabbed food from a vendor on the docks and went back to the boat, where they found the fish biting and their stomachs happily full.

After a while, things simmered down and the three other fishers said their good byes before moving into the city to go back to their wives and families. Sakn had waved good bye and then turned back to his fishing. The day was still young, and he planned to fish for many more hours. What with the sun warming his back, he could stay all day!

Or so he thought.

One minutes, there was nothing but bliss and silence and the background sounds. Then suddenly there was the smell of something burning horribly, a huge splash(a monster? An attack of some sort!?), and Sakn watched as all the fish scattered away, fearful of the sudden disturbance.

The 'disturbance' that was swimming his way. And talking. And looked less like a disturbance and more like a little boy. Sakn was too tired to deal with this. All he wanted was to fish. So the redhead grit his teeth and turned his head. Hopefully that would dissuade the young boy.

...

Sakn glanced over, and there he was, still staring up at him. The redhead's lips twitched and his eyebrows furrowed. He turned back away, but could still feel those eyes watching. Waiting. The redhead groaned inwardly. He didn't even know what the kid had actually said, he had been to busy watching a good week's worth of dinners disappear(not that he was really starving, but!!!), but it was obvious that there was some response expected of him.

"What?" he finally said, turning to stare blandly at the boy, irritation evident even as he curiously eyed the kid's burnt hair and scared arm. "I wusn' really payin' much attention."

It was the truth, after all.

And hopefully it would get the kid to leave, he had already irritated Sakn enough, chasing away the fish like he did. If he left, then the fish would come back.

Would that it were that easy.

The kid not only did not leave, but clung onto the side of Sakngea's boat, like an especially annoying barnacle. "Oh," he said at first, somewhat disappointedly, and for a brief, glorious moment, it seemed that he was going to go away, but then he perked up. "I'll just repeat it!"

For the next few minutes he ran his mouth at Sakngea about his hair catching on fire and his mother having just cut it again, hand gestures and all, almost falling off the side of the boat he was clinging once to while waving his arms especially violently. Finally he stopped, ending with, "Good thing there was all this water here that no one was using, huh? I would have hated to inconvenience someone, it's terribly annoying when people use my workshop for things, and I've always said, do unto others as they would do unto you, or something like that, I'm not quite sure what 'unto' means. Sounds important though, 'unto'." Looking up at Sakngea cheerfully, he asked, "Is that much clearer?"

The only thing that made his rambling blather any clearer was that half of it hadn't taken place underwater. Smiling widely, he hit the side of his head while he let sakngea process what had just happened, trying to get the water out of his ear. "Feels nice at least! A nice day for swimming."
