The title speaks for itself. I want you to create your own boss character. It can be the boss character for any type of game you can possibly think of. Try, however, to keep it to one genre. =P
Furthermore, go as far out of your way as you can to create your boss character. Be as creative as you want to be. It's the video game universe; the normal laws of the world don't apply here. ;3

An example:

Game genre here (Action, RPG, Puzzle, FPS even! Any genre you want.)
Name: Obvious.
Appearance: Also obvious.
Arena: Where you will fight the boss. It doesn't have to be an "arena" specifically, or somewhere one would expect a fight to take place. Just give a description of the area where you will encounter the boss. In a field? In a city in the sky? In the basement cooling plant of a large industrial factory? Etc.
Fighting style: Post the way the boss will act. Do they hover around the arena? Do they cast fireballs at you? Or perhaps they just try to bash you in the head with a big stick. What circumstances will cause them to change their strategy, if applicable? After depleting a certain amount of health? Or maybe there are power-ups that you, the player, must collect to defeat them.
Fight theme: If you have a particular theme you want to use.
Special moves: Perhaps the boss character has a few tricks up his/her/its sleeve. Maybe the boss can grab you and grapple with you. Maybe they can change their weakness.
Finishers: If your health gets low, does the boss perform a one-hit K.O.? Are there other finishers that the boss will do under other circumstances?
Story: Perhaps you can give a little insight into the boss character's background.

Now, this doesn't have to be all there is in your boss character's description. You are perfectly allowed to change as much of this formula as you want; this is only to get those creative juices flowing.

Well, I've always liked the idea of being forced to enter the main characters mind in order to face himself.

Well, it's kinda set up like this. The main character has hit a stump in power growth and he is powerless against the games main antagonist. Then he learns from some mystical sage or something that he was never actually utilizing his full potential due to some sort of seal or curse placed within him.

Then we go into the main characters mind and find himself face-to-face with himself who fights, speaks, thinks, and moves like him...only better in all the fighting aspects.

Since the arena is set inside the main characters mind, there could be cows flying like superman in the background for all we care. Anything can happen and the scene could change very rapidly.

As for special moves and finishers, I'm going to have to be unoriginal on that part in which the doppelganger will perform the same exact moves as the main character...only in a different color. Sorta like Bleach where Ichigo fights Hollow Ichigo. Maybe when the doppelganger performs his finisher, he might shout out something like, "YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF POSSESSING THIS POWER!" or "And this is the tragic end of the fool who thought he was me."

As for name, we could just go with Doppelganger or the main character's name. Or we could go with something like Reversed and Adverse.

And finally the Fight Theme. I'd go with something epic instead of dread. I mean, how ******** awesome is it to be fighting yourself in order to gain access to your true potential?

I'm actually in the process of making a game via RPG maker VX.
The first boss in counter is a devil like being named "Sequa" (Name still processing) that knocks you off your rocker in one blow. And you wake up dead.

Well this sounds like a totally cool idea, will just try it out (just for quick sakes, and fun.)
Game genre here Action, like DmC. Big DmC fan, until DmC 4 hit the ground.
Name: Shadow dancer.
Appearance: A sort of female ninja demon, very thin and with a shadowy aura around her. A small scythe or katana, also black and with the shadowy essence on them, red burning eyes.
Arena: Somewhere inside a building or underground, someplace with only dim light.
Fighting style: Very fast, not punishing out a lot of damage on single strikes, but if close enough to you, can deal lethal combos. If one keeps doing ranged attacks to her, she will sling dark blades at you, like, whoop whoop. If going close combat, she will swirl around the arena, trying to do some fly by's. When low on hp she will deal more damage and act even faster.
Fight theme: Ninja for the win!
Special moves: If behind you, can try and crack your neck? You know you want to try it out.
Finishers: The behind trick kinda finishes you off.
Story: Just some wicked demon ninja.

If I were the main character, the battle would be insanely fast paced. Background and surroundings change at a blindly speed as both me and the doppelganger sling countless attacks at each other.

My favorite element was always Ice or Water if you want to get really basic, so you could expect to see my doppelganger to resemble me...only made entirely out of ice/water.

How the whole plot goes about in my mind starts with something like this.

Doppelganger (DG): "So...you've finally come."
Main Character (MC): "You...who are you?"
DG: "That's quite the stupid question to ask, is it not? I was expecting a much more intelligent question from you...fake."
MC: "Oh? I'm a fake? I'm certain that humans are constructed entirely out of water/ice."
DG: "You forget the fact that we're currently in the world of the mind. I can take any form I choose and this form is...befitting."
MC: "Enough! How do I undo the seal/curse?"
DG chuckles.
DG: "Why that is extremely simple. You face me, the real Metus Aquinas! Should you triumph over me, you shall unlock untold powers of which you've never seen! But, should you fail...*smiles* well, that simply means that I will finally return to my faithful place. Complete control of this body again."
MC: "...interesting." *draws weapon/starts chanting Kamehameha/starts saying bankai/etc*
DG: *smirk* "Indeed." *draws weapon/starts chanting Kamehameha/starts saying bankai/etc*

If MC is defeated:

DG starts laughing manically while pinning MC down with one of his legs.
DG: "You claim to be the real Metus Aquinas with this level of power? You're a disgrace." *spits on MC*
MC: "I'm...not...done...yet" *struggles*
DG positions weapon over MC. (Chest, throat, head)
DG: "And this is the end of the fool who thought he was the real Metus Aquinas."
DG impales MC through the chest/throat/head.
MC shudders/vomits/screams/gurgles/whatever the hell else for a few moments before dying.
DG pulls weapon out, walks up to the screen, focuses camera on his face and says "Game over" before crushing the camera with his fist.

If the MC is victorious:

MC impales DG through the abdomen, connecting him to the seal/curse.
DG vomits some blood/food/goo/poo/etc before screaming, "YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS POWER! IT BELONGS TO ME! THE REAL METUS AQUINAS!"
MC: "The only thing you are is the key to undoing this seal/curse...which you are doing."
DG's body starts to glow/vibrate/crumble.
DG: "NO! RELEASE ME!"
DG struggles for a few moments before he starts disappearing. Before he can completely disappear he lunges forward close to MC's face with a look of hate.
DG: "I will NOT forget this. Pray that we don't ever meet again or I'll scatter your body into the four winds!"
MC: "Don't worry. We won't" *pulverizes the remains of DG*

Script is very cliche and you've probably seen it used in every freaking popular action manga nowadays, but who cares?

Haha, yes! -listens to ninja theme while reading/replying to this-
I do like the whole enigmatic darkness thing. She should have other ninja-like skills, such as trying to punch pressure points on your body and temporarily disabling certain abilities by doing so. Or something like that. =o

Ooh, nice!
I don't care about whether it's cliche or not. I often have cliche ideas all the time.
I think the whole stand-off idea is cool. I like stand-offs between characters that can compete with each other. This is obviously the epitome of that, and I also like the idea of forcing the player to play against an opponent that can pull all the same tricks that you can. I mean, really make the fight hard because of that. Not quite Ocarina of Time style where they mirror you exactly, but rather, another separate entity that will employ the strategies you've been working on the whole game. Blah blah, 'tis a good idea, I think. =D

name: Zerard
appearance:male with long jet black hair flowing smoothly down his shoulders ending at his waist, a gun holstered on his left leg with a samurai sword strapped to his waist on his right side, he wears a male kimono and black jeans with black dress shoes
arena: at the penthouse suite of a hotel that is 100 feet apart in all directions and has marble floors with a red velvet couch and a 87" lcd tv also has a desk past the couch on the right side of the room also has different animal pelts for carpets on the floor
fighting style:holds his sword on his shoulders while walking with his left hand in his pocket, running he holds his sword at his right side, he uses his gun when he jumps up in the air and shoots a stream of bullets at you
special moves:if he hits you with his sword he'll roundhouse kick you and then shoot his gun at you, also can turn his pistol into two pistols and they act like machineguns only happens if you use overdrive special empowering you with 5x speed you normally have and double power.
finishers: if your low on health he'll take out his pistol put his sword on his shoulders walk over to you and launch a plasma bomb from his pistol, other finisher if your in a downed state he'll jump on you and keep blasting at you until your dead(can be broken off if you press the 5 or 10 button combo before you die)
story:Zerard was born on the planet etrion, starting out as a humble child in a middle class family he had a friend who became a part of the underworld and commited crimes, Zerard was peer-pressured into his first crime and started on his way to become a high class crime lord, succeeding the highest crime lord, Zerard see's Athius as a threat to his crime spree and his underworld therefore Zerard invites you to his tower to take care of you once and for all

Game genre: Fighting Adventure

Name: Jack King
Nickname: Jinsoku Shi

Appearance: 21yrs of age. 6 feet tall. He is a pretty skinny person with wicked mistreated wavy black hair. Has a roughed up looking face with 2 big scars. One is along his throat as if someone cut it. Another is a huge scar starting at his forhead and running along his head to his ear. He is in a black and white striped long sleeve cotton shirt with leather black skinny jeans. He wears white "van like" shoes. Looks pretty innocent until he shows his evil insane smile.

Arena: The setting is in Texas around the dark open plains around 1990. You will fight Jack at midnight in a recently abandonded high school. With no light but the few lights that still are working along the hallways.

Fighting style: To start off i got to tell you he is really swift and loose in his movements. He is extremely skilled with his two swords and a quick shooter with his handgun. One is a rusty old machete and the other is a clean razor sharp katana. His hand gun is a revolver that he keep in his back part of his pants. He first fights you with no weapons and you are able to grab anything you find to fight him or just use your fists. Along the game you are able to find swords so you can use up to two of your favorite ones. After a quarter of his life is finished he then gives a big eerie smile and pulls out his swords. The best way to fight him is by using your swords. You will have to find your own way to hit him. Once hes half way done he will get angry and start using his revolver when your a certain distance away from him. He will also use his swords alot better. 3 shots by his revolver and your dead so be careful. Again you will have to find your own way to beat him using your swords/weapons.

Special moves: Ever so often he will use a special move were if you get too far he will stop smile and go completely crazy and start running after you and attacking you with his swords as much as he can. This will stop after a few seconds then he will fall on his knees tired for a couple seconds (he is exposed and unable to fight!).

Finishers: Towards the end once hes almost done for, He will start getting shaky and tired so if you can get behind him and use your sword you will unlock YOUR finisher. You will thrust your sword downward in his upper back and take his own sword and stab it into his stomach. He will fall to his knees and look at you. You will then be holding his revolver to his head and BANG! hes on the ground dead but somehow keeping his creepy smile.

Story: Jack S. King is his full name (guess what the S stands for wink haha). He was an orphane at birth and at the age of 2 he was stolen by an evil group that taught him how to use a sword and shoot guns. At age 17 while he was returning from one of his biggest bank heist yet. His team took him to a faraway deserted place where they slashed his throat and left him for dead. No one knows how he survived but after a couple years he returned and destroyed everyone he knew. He then took his masters katana and made a huge gash on himself on his head (hes crazy remember). This is were he developed his smile. As he grew up he always hated that other kids his age had a normal good life so at this time he was ready to take revenge, This is when he went into a high school slaughtering everyone he saw. He eventually got caught and sent to an insane asylum. Of course like every other bad guy-- he broke out. He then left to live his life out in the school he destroyed.

Dear God, this is a good boss. Though I'd personally like to see a few more things implemented into Jinsoku Shi's profile if you don't mind. 3nodding

First, he should have a few moments where he is extremely vulnerable like when he empties out his revolver. He'll either stop to reload, giving you a chance to rush in and slash him a few good times before he finishes reloading or counter attacks, or where he simply just chucks the revolver away and relies completely on his two close combat weapons.

Another few things I think would be pretty neat is the nature of Jinsoku Shi's behavior. Since he's crazy, let's not limit him to just a creepy smile, but also give him a very spine-tingling laugh and panting. Since the battle is taking place inside an abandoned high school at night with only a few lights, it would be very possible to have Jinsoku Shi destroy a few of the lights as the battle progresses from hallway to hallway and classroom to classroom. Have a few flicker lights here and there to add to the intensity of the fight.

When Jinsoku Shi lunges at the main character, he could issue his laugh as he comes running at you like a maniac. You could also add to the crazy personality by having him swing his weapons in random directions as he comes towards you.

Assuming that the battle moves from place to place within the school as the main character faces Jinsoku Shi, there could be certain points where when you have dealt enough damage to Jinsoku Shi, he'll retreat and run off to another place, prompting you to chase after him. He'll eventually lead you to a poorly light area or an area with flickering lights. When the main character arrives, you can hear Jinsoku Shi's creepy panting in the background and lots of shuffling. After a few moments, Jinsoku Shi could knock out the light sources before running at the main character laughing his creepy laugh again or he could just do it without taking out the lights. Since you've stated that he hated the other kids his age, perhaps when the main character first meets Jinsoku Shi, he could be sitting in one of the desks in one of the classrooms trying to be like a student. I don't know why the main character would be at the abandoned high school or if he was looking for Jinsoku Shi, why he was seeking him out, but Jinsoku Shi will end up saying something like, "I knew it. I could never be like the others...no one understands me...they tried to get rid of me....that's why I had to kill them all. Yes...YES! ALL THOSE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DESIRE MUST LEARN THE PAIN THAT I WENT THROUGH!" Then he finally notices the main character, draws his weapons, laughs his spine-tingling laugh, and screams, "CLASS IS IN SESSION BOYS AND GIRLS!" before lunging at the main character.

Anyhow, I don't want to alter your idea anymore then I already have so I'll end it here. sweatdrop

I'm actually in the process of making a game via RPG maker VX.
The first boss in counter is a devil like being named "Sequa" (Name still processing) that knocks you off your rocker in one blow. And you wake up dead.

Name: this one is kinda tough, I think I'll go with Toxito.Random thing i just came up with
Appearance: Kinda like this half man half lizard thing that has green skin and purple (?) clothing. somewhere between 8 to 10 feet tall.
Fighting Style: He is defiantly stealthy, i want that to be a factor. so he can turn invisible for a little bit of time. and he can shoot poison out of his mouth (finally his name makes sense!) that dont do damage on impact but they do inflict poison damage every once in while.
Finishing move: this one is called the invisible slam what he does his he turns invisible and comes up behind you, bites you on the neck (no vampiric intentions) and slams you on the back of your neck, killing you.
Genre: probably either Fantasy or Sci-Fi

Sorry if I happen to offend you, but this description seems more fit for a normal monster you would encounter in the game.

Do you perhaps have a story on how this creature was created, where it would reside before being encountered by the main character, and what makes it tougher than the monsters that the main character cuts through?

Overall, it's a great start for constructing a boss character, but like the gamers who whine about everything in a game, this boss character design needs a little bit more depth or uniqueness to it. I just get the feeling that this boss is something you'll encounter multiple copies throughout the entire game.
